Thanks for the links!

I am glad (in a way) that there isn't much I'm truly interested in in the new occasions catty and only 1 sale-a-bration set. My pocketbook won't be suffering from too much shock!

I agree with the commments about the Medallion stamp in varying sizes. I would like to see a coordinating set for the BG stamp. In the meantime, I am going to look into the Medallion brush since I have paint shop pro; if the brushes will work in PSP, then I definitely will be buying more of them!

I was about to say the same thing - we don't all live in igloos!! I'm also on the west coast and love our winters because of very little snow! Still wish the prices were less in the catty, though!!

Yes, our prices are around double the US. Our dollar is quite high against the US at the moment, a few times it has reached parity and one or twice it was more than the US

Only time will tell what affect this has on prices here.

I have found that to be true with a lot of companies over the last few years. They seem to come out with stamps, and other things that are very similar.

I don't know if is only me but I was very disappointed at the SAB (I didn't see anything that was a must have). I know my customers will not be thrilled neither. I am barely making this SU quarter's goal... now I have become very concerned with Jan quarter after looking at these "new" items.

As far as the mini occasion I definitively loved the cupcake punch and the tulip embossing folder, but almost every other stamp set reminded me of past sets I own with small changes (w/exception of the buttons and pattern stamp set and I wouldn't have any use for it). Neither do I care for using fabric in It is sad and painful for me to say, but SU has much more competition to worry about if this is the best for Spring.

The SAB is a disappointment to me too. Lots more I liked in previous SAB's. The Occasions Mini is better, and I'm looking forward to seeing what the tutorials and demos come up with.

I didn't see anything I liked in either the occasions or the SAB catalogs. I'm glad because the last two minis have wiped me out and there are some things from the big catalog I really want to get. As far as SAB is concerned, I didn't care for any of the stamp sets, but I probably won't be able to resist the designer paper and matching ribbon and button set. Or I might just try to get one of the sets from the big catalog that I could get from SAB.

I haven't been crazy about the last couple of SAB catalogs, however, the ability to earn items from the regular catalog kind of makes up for it. I did like the occasions catalog this time, there is quite a bit there that is appealing, though I doubt I will be buying anything out of it.

I just don't spend $ on stamps anymore - I would rather have paper and ribbon.

I had a peek at the catalogues, and I have to say I absolutely adore a lot of the new stamp sets they have in there. Only problem is, I live in Australia and I know we won't be getting all the yummy sets I'm drooling over in yours.

At a quick glance I'd put 6 sets on my 'must have' list and four on my 'wish list'. Only one from the wish list made it into our catty. :( Looks like I'll just have to sit and wait until our next mini comes out and hope some of them get included into that one.

Funny, I think this is the best catty I've seen from SU! in the past 18 months. lol.

I received my mini in the mail today! It is much better than the SAB--that only had even one set I liked, and maybe only 2 or 3 qualifying catty stamp sets..

I wanted to know though...is there any patterns for making the little jar pincushion on pg 39?? Oh my goodness, it's just darling!!

And I'm not fond of the fabric being added...it costs an arm and a leg! I'll stick with my $1 a yard deals at local fabric stores.

I found how to make the little pincushion jar online. These are super cute! I'm so happy they shared it as I'm totally going to make these for some gifts!

Here is a simple tutorial for it I found:

I also love the sewing themed stamps, but I am having sticker shock at the prices. I have not bought any stamps from SU in a couple of years, so spending $30.00+ for wood mounted stamps seems high to me. I may be tempted by the rose embellies, buttons, etc. though.

I would NOT recommend clicking on this link. I did and it asked me for my email. I hesitated but then gave it and it sent me to all kinds of loops for car insurance and everything else.

HERE and here are directions that won't cause you as much trouble. I'm guessing that the Originials dies will be a great way to go to cut out the fabric and to cut out a circle for under the lid out of DP.

I just hit CLOSE (X) on that box and went straight to the instructions without having to give any information.

I see you are in Virginia...I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that the link they posted was actually for the CANADA mini...hence the higher prices. I have on my desk right now the acutal US mini catty and the wood mounted stamps for the sewing stuff is the normal $20-26.95 most of the SU woodmounted stamp sets are...

but then that is still to high for me...hence the reason I always buy the cling ones...
