I have to put my last Stamp Club order in today and I don't know what to get! I feel such pressure cause I won't be able to order from Stampin' Up again for awhile (the HORROR!). I am debating on a couple things so please help me out with suggestions!
1) Bundle of Joy and a pack of neutral cardstock (prob Whisper White) -I am considering this one because I am expecting our 3rd babe in May but I'm not sold on it cause I have "I'm Here" and "Wild About You" to use for baby cards and as far as the announcements go I will probably use my computer to print all the info to save time.
2) Sassy Stems and a pack of Designer Paper and an ink refill or inkpad - I've always been a little intrigued by this set but it's never been such a must that I've actually ordered it, but now it is retiring....
3) Sanded/Designer Paper/Ink - love the idea of this background but I find that I don't use my backgrounds very much anymore so I question getting this.
4) Close as a memory/Paper/ink - I don't have a stamp that says "with sympathy" (I always use "thinking of you") but I'm not sold on the rest of the set.
5) Happiness/ paper/ Ink - again I have been intrigued by this stamp but wonder how easy it is to use.
so that's my options... help me! paaaleeease!
I would probably go with Sanded, etc. I absolutely love this background stamp, and designer paper can be used so many ways. Whatever you get, though, make sure you're going to love it.
After much deliberation...hmmmmmmm...me aching head.
I would go for Sassy Stems.
It's different. It's sassy!!! Although I'm not keen on the card on the page.....
but that's me!!!
And it is retiring.
Go for it Onita!!!
I choose #2 -- Sassy Stems + DP + ink. You can color in these flowers in a number of ways and there are so many great cards using it in the gallery.
I think for Sympathy cards -- you can find maybe another mfg with a number of different sympathy sentiments. That way you can use the sentiments with any of the other SU flowers you may have.
A good friend of mine LOVES Sassy Stems. I'm thinking about getting that one before it retires. Like you, I seldom use background stamps so if I wanted to, I could just choose from the 12 or so I already own instead of buying another one. I do think Bundle of Joy is a great baby set, but if you wouldn't use it for announcements, you could get something else instead.
I say sassy stems. You definately will want the designer paper. You can always get cardstock somewhere else especially if you are just going to do a neutral. You'll get more longevity out of this combination.
I think Sassy Stems will be easy to buy used, as it was a more popular set. I'll be looking for it used, at least. Sanded was on my end-of-the-year order list, too, but I decided on Aida Cloth as it is retiring. My stamp club continues til June, so I'll be able to get Sanded later. It sounds like you have some good baby stamps (congrats on your pregnancy, by the way) already so you don't really need Bundle of Joy.
So what's my opinion on your choices?... I guess Close as a Memory, which has a pretty floral as well as the sentiments. If you aren't interested in buying used, then I'd choose Sassy Stems.

From your descriptions, it sounds like you're leaning toward Sassy Stems, even if you don't know it. I'd go for that one, especially since it's retiring. You can always order the others down the road. I love the Bundle of Joy set, but like Lauri says, sounds like you're covered pretty well in that area.
What a tough decision! Good luck & sniff, sniff is right about your last stamp club order.
