Default Jumbo VS Regular wheel ??

I am one of those people who just can't seem to run the wheel. I can't get an even stamped image so I was thinking of giving the jumbo wheel a try. But before I go ahead and order it I want to know if its any easier to use than the regular wheel. Any words of wisdom on this ?

Thanks for any info !!

I like the wheels. Yes the jumbo are easier to use. They sit steadier being wider. the wheel guide is great to keep the regulars lined up for doing background designs. Remember to keep 2 fingers on top of the wheel either size. It helps keep the wheel from tipping.

Thank you Kim. I appreciate the tip of using the two fingers on the top of the wheel. That might just be my prob.I think I only use one and that would explain why its uneven.

Thanks again !

I am also "wheel-challenged." All these years of stamping and I can't cut a straight line and I can't wheel a straight design! LOL The SU! wheel guide has helped me a lot. I know I tried rulers and stuff before but man, this thing is perfect for people like me. And yes, the jumbo are easier.

I do keep buying the darn things, I'm determined to master this one way or another.

You know, a few years ago, I wanted to wheel the edge of an envelope and was at the table hesitating. DH asked what I was doing and I told him, and that I was nervous, so he offered - and darned if he didn't get a perfect wheeled image even WITH the turn at the point of the envelope!!! Some people! LOL

Hi,
I don't consider myself an expert by any stretch of the imagination and I was always frustrated trying to use the smaller wheels at workshops. But when I tried the larger wheels I was pleasantly surprised.....my images come out sharp and clear 99% of the time. I have the Clearsnap version of the wheel guide and it helps tremendously. I love love love my larger wheels. My favorite technique is using the embossing ink cartridge with PearlEx...it makes a beautiful elegant image.
My last project was simple and useful. I just cut plain cardstock in half and wheeled an image across the bottom or the top for stationary, then I stamped the same image along the bottom or side of an envelope to match. These make nice gifts.

Good luck with the wheel...........keep on rollin'!

Thank you so much Kathy and Coletta. I think I am going to take the plunge and get the jumbo wheel. I have seen some beautiful cards made with the wheels and have to give it a try.

Thanks for all the tips and info. You SCS gals are always so much help

JUMBO Wheels ROCK! They are so much easier to use than the smaller ones. I get straight lines, clear images, no smudges. One trick that has even helped me on the smaller wheels is to SLOW DOWN. Think about how you would hold a stamp to the paper for a second to get a brighter image. Same principle...if you slow down, the image and paper "connect" for a little bit longer.

I'm gonna do wheelies with my Highly Decorated Wheel this weekend.
