Default How Did They Do That?

In the October issue of Stampin' Success magazine there is an article about Stamp Camp gift ideas.

There's one on page 5 called "A Tag Collection" that uses a 6" page protector. Way too cute!

I don't understand part of the directions -- you put the page protector on a piece of CS and there's a flap that comes down over it to keep the tags in the protector. The directions say to tie it closed. I don't get what you're tying the flap to, to close it.

Has anyone seen or made one of these? I would think holes would need to be punched through at least the top layer of the protector, possibly also the cardstock behind?

Any help appreciated.

My stampin' buddy and I are doing this at a SC in November. We've decided to use sticky velcro dots to close it instead of punching the protector.

I would just affix a long piece of ribbon to the back of the cardstock with a glue dot or sticky strip, and wrap it around the whole thing.

Default How Did they Do That?

I made some of the holders illustrated in the Stampin' Success and used for a set of greeting cards. Just cut an 8-1/2 x 11 sheet of card stock down to 6x11 and slip inside the 6x6 sheet protector & fold over to make the cover and use dot of velcro to close. With it closed and stuck to the protector with the velcro, it doesn't slip out. I decorated the top with ribbon and a strip of cardstock stamped with same stamp set used for the cards. Really easy.....

Thumbs up Tag Pouch in Gallery

Noelles2boys has posted her Tag Pouch in the gallery. Looks like she reinforced the page protector with a circle of CS before she punched. This would be a wonderful gift to give early in December!

Thumbs up Gracias!

Thanks to all who responded. SCSers rock!

The snowflake sample is adorable -- great idea to use the reinforcement circle on the protector.

Time to get busy!

I made them at my last stamp camp and have made several for gifts since. You need to cut the little strip off of the side of the page protector that has holes for the binder. I used Sticky Strip to put the page protector on the background paper, it doesn't show. Instead of tags, I used 4 SU Note cards & Smal Env. Stamped the front of the note cards and the flap of the envs. I then stamped a piece of Whisper White to fit on the flap of the note holder, allowing for a small border of the background paper to show. I punched two little slit holes in the fold at the top and threaded and knotted wide organdy ribbon to use as a handle. I put a velcro button under the center of the flap and a real button on the outside. I used a few of the mini glue dots to hold the button on.
I've not posted any pictures on SCS, but if you PM me, I'll send you some pictures.
They sure make nice little gifts!

Talking I MADE THIS!!!!

The way thet we tied the flap together was to use the punch with 2 holes to punch the cs. Then used the tool kit and the small anywhere punch to put holes in the top layer of the page protector. Also marked the holes first with a pen or pencil mark thru the hole in cs. Remember to use the little mat between the page protector layers. put a ribbom thru the holes starting in the page protector and bring up thru the cs. Sorry if it is confusing. Taishea ;)
