Default Embossing with the Sizzix

Hi!
I'm wondering if anyone has found a way to emboss with the Sizzix machine without using their brass templates and embossing folders.
I have a bunch of small brass templates that I'd like to use with the Sizzix machine. I have the system converter and Sizzix said to buy some embossing rubber from Ellison to make this work.
Has anyone tried or found a more successful way using fun foam or something else?
Thanks for the help.

Default Embossing with Sizzix

My daughter and I figured out how to do it. Go into Ellison.com and look for the embossing rubber, 9"X12", 6 pack for $15.95. When we received the rubber my daughter figured out how to do the folder by cutting the rubber and a piece of transparency to make your own folder for each brass template. Email her for the [email protected]. The instructions may be on there...not sure.

Or.....you could take an old mouse pad (the foamy kind) and cut it to the size of the converter. Layer your template, then your paper, then your mouse pad and then your converter...slide it all under the pressure plate, etc....and voila an embossed image!! Just keep in mind that there will be a frame around your image (the outline of the template)...I havent figured out how to get around that one yet...not sure if there is a way...good luck!!

Talking embossing with sizzix

I also use the embossing rubber from ellison but, I have bought blank embossing folders from sizzix instead of the transpartencies. I use one folder and one piece of rubber and change the brass template.
