I saw a neat card using the A Muse Bride & Groom stamp and I feel like I'm obsessed with finding this stamp. I know I can order it from the A Muse website, but their shipping is a little over $5. I found an eBay vendor who will have this stamp in the next week or so. I even drove to the LSS in Fargo but they didn't have that stamp. (And I had a 40% off coupon I could have used.)
I am now trying to convince myself that I don't HAVE to have that dang stamp. I do need to make a wedding card, but I don't HAVE to use that image. (I don't, I don't, I don't!) Besides, I can use the money that I would have spent on ONE stamp to buy a stamp set with TAC, right?
Grrrrrrrr. I don't NEED the stamp, I just want it.
Does anyone have that stamp and would you be a kind soul to stamp me a few images of it? It's the 2-1035D stamp..
I don't really like the feeling I get when I am obsessed about something. I mean, my life won't END because I don't have it. (Will it?)
*sigh*

I also have to tell myself that this card will NOT make or break the happy couple's wedding experience. Truthfully, I've never met them. It's my DH's friend's daughter. I've only met this friend once -- at our wedding two years ago. But I still obsess about making the "perfect" card. Maybe I should just go BUY one and be done with it. (Just kidding, sort of.)

I tend to do the same thing with stamps and pretty much anything that catches my eye. But I've found that if I take a day or so of a break from "having" to have it right then (and even add it to a list so I don't forget it if I really think I can't live without it)...then later when I go back the feeling has passed, or rarely, it hasn't, so I add it to my list to buy (which since I'm trying to budget a little, given all the stamping stuff I have and haven't used yet...).
This is a card I did. Is this the stamp you are talking about? If so, I would be happy to stamp you some images, however I'm getting ready to leave for a long holiday weekend and won't be back until Monday. If you can wait until Monday I will stamp some for you. Let me know.

We all get the "gotta-have's" every so often. It's not just a stamping phenomenon, but seems more prevalent here. I find that a little time working on something else helps ease the urge, but generally, I cave! LOL! Good luck.
My mother and I both have obsessive tendencies.. I have times where I literally can't sleep because I have to have something. I haven't been quite as bad with the stamps yet but I have done it with purses, etc. One of my meds also tends to make it worse sometimes.. but seems lately to have made it better lol.
It does bother me but I try to hold off on it and see if it wears off. If it doesn't, then I rethink about buying it

I think I have an addictive personality, if I see something I like I GOTTA have it!! I have alot of stamps, some I've yet to use.. but hey, there's worse things I could be addicted to!! ;)
The worst for me is seeing an SU! set I *need* then have to go through the rigmarole of finding somebody that'll ship to the UK  At least that won't be for much longer!!

I think the obsession is half the fun...you know...the searching, the tabbing of the catalogs, then writing a list, then writing it again and when you finally have your purchase in your budget...waiting for the brown truck! It's like Christmas!!! Yipee!!! I really justify it many of the ways others are saying...I don't spend a lot of money on other things, clothes, etc. It's part of what keeps me sane. Believe me if I go to long with to much work and no play...I start to get stressed and that's not good... Sounds like you really like the stamp, so maybe you need to treat yourself if your budget allows. Otherwise, it sounds like some others are happy to send you some images...is this website great or what?!?
Art is intended to provoke an emotion from a total stranger. If youve succeeded in this, consider yourself an artist. Paper Shanks Blog. Love me or hate me, you are still talking about me
i do get obsessed until i get it, then its calm for about another week and its starts over. my latest obession are the copics, i want them, but that i wont satisfy for a long time.
just remember though if you are abotu to buy the card, use that money and spend it on the shipping.
Being obsessed doesn't bother me. Every day I hope that some new scrapping/stamping goody I ordered will arrive. Or a new scrapping magazine. I actually get a little down on Sundays and holidays because there's no mail delivery (I can only admit this to fellow addicts here because I know you'll understand ). I also guess there are much worse addictions to have. No 12-step program for stamping/scrapping supply addiction...
I always do that. And it bothers me and bothers me until I order it. Then I usually forget until it is delivered... and gone on to another obsessive thought... I am trying to stop!
Except now I want all the large ink pads (Craft) and also all the cardstock colors... heehhehehehe

Ooooooh.. I can totally relate. I think I now own pretty much all of the Cuttlebug stuff. (Well, I only have six of the alphabets.)
Okay, on a positive note regarding my latest obsession.... I made the wedding card! I used the Stamps by Judith wedding cake stamp that I already own. I'm starting to think that I probably would have used that one even if I did buy the A Muse stamp. I haven't added it to my gallery yet because part of it is still drying. I recycled part of the invitation because I didn't have any silver (or maybe it's platinum) metallic sparkly paper. (I did make a point of writing down the wedding details on another piece of paper that is now on the fridge.) Whew....!! I'm breathing a sigh of relief. Granted, the wedding isn't until August 18th, but it seems like something always comes up so procrastinating isn't always a good thing.
Thanks everyone for your offers for stamped images! I think I'm okay now.
Kimberly
