I have an aunt who does CM and she charges $20 for a class to make 8 borders for your scrapbook pages. Then she charges extra for supplies. (i.e you buy one paper pack and one sticker pack and make all the borders from these - you bring your own tools and adhesive).
Are there any SU demos who do this? I know my demo doesn't, but it's not everyone's cup of tea. Can you do this when you want to teach a new technique or something?
TIA!

Some demos offer stamp camps or stamp a stack nights where you charge for a class like environment. Generally the demo charges an amont from $10-$35 (depending on how many projects and how detailed the projects are). Some demos offer an opennight where guests come over and use stamp pads, tools, and gadgets and guests bring their own paper, adhesives, eyelets, etc. There it might be free or a small fee for wear and tear of their personal things and also for snacks.
These are just some options I have heard of that go beyound the typical home parties.
I have a stampcamp once or twice a month and charge for them. Usually about 6 to 10.00 depending on what we make and I supply everything they need to make whatever it is. Don't make a lot but have a ball doing it. They can order if they want to but don't have to. It's just a fun way to teach new techniques, show new sets and have a girls night out.

I dont for a small class I do alot of one on one classes, but if I was doing like 2 or more people with multiple projects I certainly would. But that is just me. I know some people say well if they are buying $25 bucks worth of stuff a few projects is nothing, but overtime not everyone buys things at camps and it all your projects add up in the end.
As soon as you get your demo # be sure to sign up for the demo only forum here at SCS. Great business ideas and discussions on topics just like this one.
I offer technique classes and the cost for the class is $15 with $5 refundable with a $35 order. The class fee covers all supplies including the page protectors for your notebooks and they make 4 full cards.
Every demo is VERY different, but here is my April schedule, so you can get a feel for what I do...
This Saturday I have my monthly free class - the girls come to my house, and we make 3 projects and have snacks. On the 16th, I am having a "Stamp-A-Stack" class. We'll be making 10 birthday cards (3 designs) for $20. At this class they get envelopes to coordinate, so the cards are ready to be sent out. On the 22nd, I am having a "Girl's Night Out" where people bring their own supplies (they have free use of my stamps, ink, and tools, plus limited use of my accessories and paper)... this event is from 6-11pm, and costs $10 (to cover food and use of my supplies). Generally I supply EVERYTHING including snail adhesive, except at the girl's night... they are expected to bring their own adhesive and paper cutter (I'd go broke supplying adhesive for a 5 hour class!)
When you become a demo you can choose to do this how you would like. We all run our businesses differently. I also do classes and charge. The demo forum is a great place to discuss this. You will get a ton if ideas there! We would love to help you all we can if you choose to join SU. Good luck with your decision!
