Default Craft Room Organization and Storage...HELP!

As I accumulate more stuff, my rubbermaids are becoming a curse more than a blessing. I hate all the digging and searching I'm doing. I have a beautiful new closet with LOTS of storage space and that's where my rubbermaids are now. However, when I stamp, I have to drag it all out, dig, stamp, then put it all away again.

I have a great space to start a craft area (a cozy corner of my newly remodeled basement). My question is: Where do I start? I want a desk with cubbies and drawers. Where do you all shop? Any great websites out there? Help me build my crafting space!

My best suggestion would be to go to the gallery and click on special collections and then click on stampin spaces. There are some awesome stampin rooms. If you see something you really love, and you can't figure out where items come from, you could just PM the person.

Good luck in your organization efforts!

I got 3 inexpensive lower cupboards from Home Depot and then bought a long piece of Formica to go over them. Two of the cupboards are "pan" cupboards which means they have big drawers (evidently to hold pans but hey, who needs pans when there are craft items to store!). Those pan drawers hold SU sets beautifully. I have way over a hundred sets stored in them alphabetically. And with the formica on top I can put my paper cutter, tv, and tons of other stuff.

Above the formica instead of other cabinets I chose open shelving (like $11 a piece) and I have 3 of them. The top shelf I can't reach without a stool so I store things up there I don't need often. Everything on the shelves is in photo boxes or hat boxes so it has a little neater look.

Enjoy setting up your craft area, it's just a blast to have your own spot.

I purchased my modular scrapbooking furniture from oriental trading. Please check out my gallery to see my scrap space. I will be glad to answer any questions you may have.
