Could someone please explain how you take measurments for a square or retangle when using a corner punch with a matching border punch to create a mat. :confused:
It should work the exact same as if you are just using plain (no punching) rectangles because the border punch takes the exact same amount off each time. Make sense? So, if you wanted a 1/4" difference between your punched pieces, then cut your starting plain rectangle pieces with a 1/4" border difference. Hope that helps.
From what I've seen/tried, I'll have to disagree with the "it should work" hopefulness. It TOTALLY depends on the spacing of the motif in the border. Is it a 1/4" repeat? a 3.8" repeat? A 1 1/2" repeat? How many repeats per punch? You have to take those measurements into account when you cut the original rectangle or square (AND add extra for how much the punch removes from the edge). I'm not willing to invest that much time/energy/math into figuring it out, so I keep track of other helpful folk who've done it:
