Color Combos for Un-inked Spectrum/Kaleidacolor Pads?
Do you have a favorite color combo that you used to make a custom Spectrum pad or does anyone have a list they could share? I'm not looking for a list of general combos, but specifically tried & true in the un-inked spectrum/kaleidacolors.
How timely your post is. I was thinking about posting basically the same question a few days ago - just never did. I bought the un-inked Spectrum pad when it first came out and it remains un-inked.
If I think of any combos, I'll post. But for now, I'm also looking for ideas from others.
I asked this question a couple weeks ago and didn't get any answers. I would love some as I would love to try this. If we keep bumping the topic, maybe we'll get some answers!
I've been wondering the same thing - have an uninked pad for almost a year now. I'm leaning towards Jan Tink's suggestion (in an earlier thread):

I have made one custom spectrum pad and will definitely make more. I like to do monochromatic ones, so I did Yoyo Yellow, Summer Sun, Only Orange, Real Red, and Pink Passion...great for sunsets!
This is enticing!

A couple of my favorite kaleidacolor pads are autumn and caribbean sea so I messed around with su colors to try and duplicate them. I made one with gable green, tempting turquoise, bliss blue, taken with teal and mint melody and I also made one with more mustard, really rust, close to cocoa, more mustard again and old olive. Both turned out really nice, the blues is almost exactly like the caribbean sea pad and the browns are a little different than the autumm, I think they used a darker brown in the middle but I tried it with choc. chip and liked the cocoa better. I am very pleased with how they both turned out. I also did one for Christmas with real red, glorious green, brilliant blue, glorious green and real red to stamp my envelopes with and it turned out well too. It's fun to try to copy the colors of the kaleidacolors and see how close you can get.
My wedding colors were Pretty in Pink & Baroque Burgundy. For the shower thank you's I made on Pretty in Pink, Postively Pink, Pink Passion, Positively Pink, Pretty in Pink. I used it for those thank you's and haven't since!
I received a swap at convention last summer that had a color scheme that I loved. Pretty in Pink, Rose Romance, Baroque Burgundy, Close to Cocoa, and Choc. Chip. It looked great.
I put the color combos suggested here with some more I've collected from Stampin' Discuss. Here is the list. Some of these have been tried but some have not. None by me, though.

I just ordered my last reinker to make a baby one, I am going to use Barely banana, pretty in pink, mint melody, bliss blue and lavender lace. I am not sure in what order I am going to put them in yet, though!
I am going to make one just for Petal Prints and More Petal Prints, too. I am going to use two flower colors and three greens for the stems. Just can't decide what colors yet and am working on buying more of the reinkers to be able to do anything I want!
Good luck and let us know what you decide to do with yours!
I love SU inks, but I also like the Seashell muted color pallete offered by Ranger. I created a pad using the Ranger Seashell colors Cool Peri, Seashell Pink, Conch Shell, Sandal, and Starfish Green (not in this order). The muted tones are beautiful for florals like petal Prints and Paint Prints.
I'm so glad to see this thread. I too have an uninked Spectrum pad that's been hanging around. I even got it out last week, but didn't know what I wanted to do with it. Now I'll just have to decide which of this wonderful suggestions I'll try. Thanks!
