Small size is good if you are limited on space. You can also get the entire set of colors for about 1/2 of the price of the full-sized pads.

I personally saved until I could afford full-sized pads. I don't really care for spot sized pads.

Size and price are the differences. A lot of people like the spots because of portability. I personally prefer the full-size pads. I would recommend getting the full-size pads in the colors you will use. I do not own every color in every family. The spots can only be purchased as full sets. BTW, the full-size pads and spots come in both classic and craft.

I started out with the spots and quickly upgraded to the full size pads. I donated the classic spots to a friend and kept the craft spots. I kept the craft spots because they are good to have for heat embossing and don't take up nearly the space as full size pads. If you aren't going to use them alot I would go with the spots but if you will be using them alot go fo the full size pads.

I have full size "Classic" ink pads and Stampin' Spots for the "Craft". They're small but easy to use and it's more economical to buy the Spots and get refills for them.

I also have all of the full size classic ink pads and I am working on getting all of the craft stampin spots. I don't use the craft ink as much as I use the classic, but it is nice to have the craft spots to use for embossing and on dark colored cardstock.

I have just recently started getting into the stamping scene and I bought the spots so I could see which colors I used the most. This way I only buy the full sized ones for the colors I use more often, and I save more space this way, since I am limited on space. They are also easier to tote around for gatherings.

i bought all the classic and craft spots because it's a less-expensive way to "have all the colors". i buy the full-size pads if i notice i've been using that color a lot (e.g., chocolate chip, old olive, bashful blue). there are colors i almost never use, and i'm glad to have them around in the rare occasions i need them, without having to spend $6 per pad. i also find that the spots make it easy to ink up a stamp with different colors since they're smaller.

i have all of the color families in the spots. bought them when i was a demo. i wanted to have all of the colors and figured that the spots were a better way to get that and were a cheaper option. i've slowly built up my full size pad collection, but i still reach for the spots. they're easier to travel with, too.
