I just need to whine for half a minute. I distinctly remember running across at least 3 blender pens when I was going through and decluttering my stash a couple weeks ago. Tonight I couldn't find a single one and I tore everything apart....pretty sure they went in a bag to Goodwill. Darn it. Does Joanns or Michaels carry them? Have only bought them from SU! In the past.
Great idea to take a picture! My other trick for finding things is to ask someone else to have a look. It's almost the very nature of the asking that turns it up for me.
Now I need to get someone over to look for my missing leaf stamp.
Are blender pens going the way of the dinosaur? JoAnn's didn't have any, Michaels and Hobby Lobby had one lone brand...Prismacolor. Are the ones from Stampin' Up actually a SU! trademark? The pen also looks different... Just curious.

Hmmmm ... my blender pens in hand have no other (C) or ownership shown besides Stampin' Up! As a note, these are not the newest package ... at least 2 years old. But I just used them in a class a week & a half ago, still good, so ... still using these until they need replenishing. ;)
I have a Tombow, Dove and a Recolections brand (Michael's) blender pens. The Tombow looks like the SU one in the catalogue. I use the Dove blender refill on my other pens
Here is a thought. If you can't find blender pens at the above mentioned stores, do you have any art supply stores where you live? Dick Blick carries Tombows as well as a lot of other markers. I actually buy many of my art supplies from Blicks.
I looked everywhere for some wood embellishments that I was pretty sure I had bought. (I generally try to write in a binder everything I buy, but had not for this.)
Found them after I bought another set. But at least the 2nd set did not cost me a lot, because I got it at Tuesday Morning.

Amazon has a wide selection of blender pens. For water colors, water based markers, watercolor pencils and crayons, I pretty much only use the SU ones because I haven't found any others that meet their quality and shelf life. I have tried the Tombow ones, but they were pretty much dry on arrival. No matter how gentle of a hand I use with Dove blender pens, the point turns to mush within minutes. I used to buy Dove replacement nibs by the dozens, but gave up on them.
I have seen a new (to me anyhow) product for blending wax based colored pencils called Finesse, Has anyone tried them? My hand gets tired using the Prismacolor blender pencil and I have been looking for an alternative to the OMS/babyoil etc options for blending mediums.

Yep - I'm planning on ordering some when I attend a class next week at my demo's house. Had something I wanted to work on last night, though, so was hoping to find something close. I tried the Prisma blender last night and I think I like the SU! ones better...

I'd be interested in hearing anyone's thoughts on that! Will have to look it up...

LOL I NEVER think about art supply stores - d'oh! There's actually a Dick Blick a couple doors down from Hobby Lobby! Will definitely check there - thanks!

New to me too! I want one! LOL They have to be at least two years old because I found a video on YouTube that was two years old! Thanks for the info. Hope I can find one! I'm tired of the stumps.

Amazon Prime has the Finesse colored pencil blender for $11.69 for a 3 pack. I have them in my cart for next time I feel I can splurge a bit.
I just absolutely have to share this...update from this thread. I went to a stamp camp a few weeks ago and ordered new blender pens...just got them from my demo this past weekend. Well....I JUST FOUND MY 'OLD' ONES!! IN MY KNITTING BAG! bwahahahaha! Don't ask why I put them there, I have NO idea! I just thought this was too stinkin' funny! Oh, boy. I'm smh at myself for sure!
Don't be mad at yourself. I just did the same thing with some small wooden embellishments. I thought I had bought them, but went looking for them and couldn't find them anywhere. Then I saw some at a really good price in a Tuesday Morning store. So I bought those, came home and found the other ones immediately! Apparently it takes buying something twice to find the first ones, lol.

*giggling with you*
It's nice to see that "Murphy" and his silly "law" occasionally messes around with other peeps besides 'yours truly'!

The prismacolor blender PEN ( it's with their prismacolor alcohol based markers on the shelf at Micheal's in my teeny tiny hole in the wall town) will melt the pigments of prisma pencils... ( IE blend them) the only down side is, it does put out fumes so, if you color with your nose an inch off the paper you may have to do it in smaller batches of images. but, I used to color on the sofa at night while hubs watched tv so the less chance of making a mess ( klutzy person here) made the social thing worth the fumes for me.
This is probably a silly question but I am new to blending and coloring images. Would a marker also blend colored pencils or only markers.
And is gamsol the easiest to use??
Also see a review for chartpak blender pens on Amazon.

Here's a link to Dini's (Dina Kowal) video on colored pencil blending. This is an excellent tutorial on the different types of blending mediums and how to use them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufgdg8bwexI

I wonder if these are similar to the blending pens you can get for the alcohol markers ie; copic, promarkers etc..., as the video said they are alcohol based. Might have to try that later on just to see!
