I think several sets of cards would be a nice donation. I donated several notecard sets to a fundraiser and was told they were appreciated.
If you can package them nicely that would be good also. I made matching boxes with belly bands for my sets, using the tutorial from the tutorial section here at SCS.

They fold up but you might need a sticker or piece of clear scotch tape to keep it closed. It might not be the "best" price if someone was doing this for long term selling, but for this purpose seems good. I have gotten them. They are nice.
Also/alternatively, I might think about some thank you cards just to give the family-they might want to send some around the fundraiser. You dont have to box those-a nice satin ribbon around them seems nice to me.
I participated in a fundraiser where there were buckets of prizes, and people bought tickets and dropped them in the buckets of choice. Then one winner per bucket was selected. Sort of a themed selection of buckets, if you get the idea. My contribution was a series of seasonal paper items - cards, tags, note cards/envelopes, and gift wrap supplies (bags, paper, tape, curling ribbon). Another person did paper goods - plates, cups, napkins, utensils. So much depends on the chairperson's format. I hope all outcomes are positive! Crafting lifts our souls and rejuvenates our bodies.
Sorry to against the grain, but I'd suggest something other than cards. Perhaps a stamped candle, or baby onesie, or stamped dish towels?
I once made a basket of nice cards for a church silent auction. I was saddened to learn that it sold with one bid for $10. It didn't even cover the cost of my supplies. I don't want to see this happen to you.
I was going to agree that an assortment of cards would be a great donation. I did that for a silent auction fundraiser and the highest bid was either 55 or 60$ for a dozen cards. It's mostly about the cause but it made me happy that they went so well
My sister and I have done a few baskets for silent/Chinese auctions at benefits. We did 5 or 6 cards for all different occasions. They did really well.
