I don't read what others have posted as comments, I just make a comment based on what I'm thinking, short or long, but often find I have repeated what someone else has said. Commenting stampers think alike?
I don't care if someone wrote the exact same thing as me, and I'm sure the card creator doesn't care either! Who doesn't love comments in any way shape or form??
...if I think of something I want to ask the artist, then I skim through to see if someone else has the same question and to see if the question got answered.
Not too often because some of the posts/replys are so long that it would take a day or two just to go through them. Once in a while though I read some and find them pretty interesting. Some times you read others posts and they are very helpful. I guess it depends on what section I am in and posting to.
can i change my answer?! i answered "read and skip" if someone said something that i was going to say, and i really only do that for forums, not cards! (read the question wrong!).
For cards, i post w/out reading comments regardless because we all want high numbers, right??!! If the card already has 2+ pages of comments, i don't always leave a comment tho... figure they got their luv! I try to leave comments on the cards w/few comments.
For forums, i read and skip posting if everyone's said what i was going to say most times...
really depends on how much time I have - if I have time and there aren't pages of comments I will skim through and try to comment on something on the card that hasn't been mentioned yet. If I'm in a rush I just leave my initial reaction eg fab card, great colour scheme/layout etc
When ever I see a card I like, I always leave a comment. Can't always be original - just write what strikes me about the card. I'm always greatful for any comments on my cards. Duplicates or other! I voted on the second choice.
Just write what I feel - people seem to want to know what you liked about their cards - more than just that it was cute, so if I liked the ribbon or something and so did 5 other people - that's what you are gonna hear. If I just liked it b/c it was cute, you will hear that too.
I usually don't read through the other comments first, mainly because when I like a card enough to make it a favorite, I'm telling the artist what I liked about their card.
Sometimes I do read through some of the comments after I post a comment though. It's fun to see what other similar and different tastes there are, and what other people notice that's different that what I notice.
I chose the "skim" option - I try to look over what others said to maybe notice something that I hadn't already. That being said, if the comments go to page 2 and beyond, I never look over those. Just add mine and go on.
This is what I do. Sometimes they point out something I did not notice. But if they are really long; the skimming stops and I leave my comment.

After I left a comment for someone's card today, I realized it was really close to what somebody else had said a few posts back. I hadn't read any of the other posts before I typed, just said what I thought. Would you find this irritating if you were receiving comments that were almost identical? Do you read the comments before you add one? Do you try to say something totally original? Just wondering...
I have very little time to casually cruise the gallery these days, so I try to be as expedient as I can. ;)
Typically, if time permits, I say *exactly* what I thought the instant I saw it, and without reading through anyone else's comments.

Nope, I usually just leave my thoughts. If more than one of us has similar opinions, isn't that a good thing?! :-D I sometimes go back and read other posts if I don't understand how the card was made (sometimes shows up later) but guess I generally just leave my own perspective. You know what they say, 'I gotta be me!" And, no, similar comments wouldn't bother me (unless they all said my card was AWEFUL!) :-)
