Default Aqua Pen and WC crayons...

I have the wc crayons and LOVE them. I have used them straight on paper, sribbled on plastic and picked up the color with blender pens, and used them right on a stamp and then spritzed with water and stamped. I have heard people talk about using them with the aqua brush or pen - whatever it is called??? - How do you do it? Put the brush right on the crayon? Scribble on plastic like with the blender pen?

I use it just like you would with the blender pen. I either pick up the color right from the crayon, or I color on the picture & blend it with the aquapen. It's very addictive! I have found that watercolor paper tends to work better if the pen is pretty wet. If you use less water & ultrasmooth SU paper, it seems to work well, too.

HTH!

I usually pick the color up with the aquapen. I would definitely use the watercolor paper like Lori said. It just doesn't work well with thin paper.

Thanks for your responses. I have been having so much fun with the crayons and wanted to try the aqua pen. I have used the pen with the chalks and didn't like it as well as the blender pen with the chalks.

Can you use confetti paper in leiu of the water color paper, or should I stick with the wc paper? Someone told me the confetti would work...?

I used them with the aqua brush before I knew about the other techniques so they never left my box...until DH spilled them!
As for paper, if you don't have the watercolor paper you can spray with Krylon clear acrylic coating and it will then work like wc paper. I just did this a few days ago so I know it works.

I did a very light two second spray, then with the cardstock propped upright I cleared the nozzle of the can (spray upside down until clear) onto the cs again. I had them cut into small panels.

This spray also works if you have to print out on the computer and then use moisture to it.

I do have that spray on hand so I will try it...Thanks! I'm not opposed to buying the wc paper, just though it would be nice (easy) to use what I already have.

I have used the confetti paper with my watercolor crayons and aquapen and haven't had any problems.

You could also use the naturals paper. But try using the watercolor crayons with gamsol and blending stumps....I love the results.

I'm going to Hobby Lobby in the morning...I'll pick some gamsol up. I have never used it, but have heard about it. Thanks!

Beate - thank you. I am very new to this site and pretty much a newbie to SU. I am only recently getting into the more advanced techniques. I will check out the tutorial. Again, thanks!
