I draw pretty well, and I would like to (maybe) try my hand at designing/ selling/ giving away etc. some digital stamps.
Do you draw the image and scan it, or 'draw' directly on the computer using the mouse?
thanks

WOW,this was asked a year ago and no one knows????
My sister is a fantastic artist and is bi polar. I want to turn some of her drawings into digital "stamps" and put them up for free on my blog to give her lift. I mentioned it to her and she said that would thrill her and she needs that bad!! Please, if you know how to make a drawing into a crisp nice digital stamp, please share that information with us.

Many artists draw on a computerized tablet (like a wacom) so that the digital version is created as you go. Other artists draw on paper then scan it into an editing program like Adobe, where it is cleaned up of smudges, eraser marks, etc.
I asked the same question a while ago, and it seems that knowledge of a vector graphics program (like Adobe Illustrator) is necessary. At least, if you want to get the really crisp, clean digital images.
I don't have the time or energy to learn how to use it, so I gave up on trying to digitize some of my drawings. There are books that you can get that teach you how to use it, or your local college should offer some classes, which I think would be really helpful.
The few images that my husband drew for my tiny store were handdrawn, first in pencil then ink. I scan them in and clean them up on the computer. We purchased one of those drawing boards but he doesn't like using it. Doesn't bother me though because I prefer images that aren't all that crisp anyway. I personal don't like images that are completely done by computer (unless they are so good that you can't tell).
I know drawings have to be scanned and cleaned up on the computer. I am looking for step by step instructions on how to do that, preferably in PSE...Many colleges have a Photoshop class for digital photos, but I don't have Photoshop and I think it is probably way above my experience to even attempt it.
You can draw a picture with pencil and outline it with a marker that way when you scan it looks nicer. I have been trying to create some of my own digital images it's not the best, because I don't know how to use photo-shop and other soft wares.
