Alison, I just checked the phone listings, there is a LSS called Sir Stamps A Lot at 430 Green Springs Hwy phone, 205 943- 9129. You might call to make sure they are still in business.. Went to it years ago. Don't know of any other ones except HL and Michaels. About 65 miles north of Bham, where I live there a scrapbook/stamp store, but they are closed on Saturday....

There is a really cool LSS in Hoover, out by the Galleria. It is called Scrap ETC. The owners are very up to date on their products, and the store is huge. Go to www.scrapetc.com and you can find directions to the store. My mom and sisters are also going to Christmas Village this weekend. I went to the spring show in March. Have a great weekend.
I have been to scrapetc. and sir stamps a lot. They are both totally worth going to. Scrapetc. is especially awesome, I spent way too much money there. Their Michaels is so much bigger than one here in Montgomery. Have a blast!

MMM...sounds good! I don't know if DH would be up for a visit to the LSS if he has to endure a craft show all day! I may have to just make a trip up there myself one Saturday!
Jen...know of any LSS's here in Montgomery?

I know I'm not Jen. But, Distinctive Scrapbooks is in Montgomery. I shopped there yesterday and bought some marching band stickers and volleyball paper (both are very hard to find). Also a Crop-a-dile and a z becky brown purse for $38.99 (great price). It's a great shop, very friendly people. Can't wait to go back.

There is a scrapbook store called distinctive scrapbooks. It is EastChase mall on the northern bypass. I don't think they have stamps however. That is it other than Hobby Lobby, A.C. Morre, and Michaels. That is why I drive to Birmingham sometimes and order a lot of the Internet.

I can't believe that I am just now finding this post. I live in Moody, Alabama. I am 20 minutes from highway 280 in Inverness, and about 15 minutes from downtown Birmingham. Of course that 15 minutes is without accidents on I-20 or I-59.
I am excited b/c Scraps, Etc. just opened thier second store over in Trussville, and that is about 10 minutes from me. Now I don't have to go over to the Galleria to go shopping, I can go over to the Pinnacle.
Maybe we can plan a spring scrapbooking/stamping get together somewhere central enough for everyone to be able to come.

We will be spending a couple of weeks in AL. Does that count?
Seriously, we have reservations at a park near Guntersville for a week, then on to Red Bay (NW Alabama) for a few days. What should we see and where should we shop while near Huntsville?
The Rubber Stamp Lady on Memorial Pkwy and Once Upon a Scrapbook in Hwy 72 in Huntsville is normally where I do my shopping, unless I'm going to Hobby Lobby or Michael's.
I'm not Michelle, but Madison is just west of Huntsville.
Y'all are making me homesick for Huntsville and Alabama. I was supposed to be there this week, but my class was cancelled. I wanna move back. It's beautiful here in SW Virginia, but in my heart Alabama is home now (besides that where some of the kids and grandkids are)

Madison and Huntsville touch each other. I live in the center of Madison and I'm about a 10 minute drive into Huntsville City. 15 of I need to get downtown.
With the interstate here it's really really quick getting anywhere...
Hello I am in Fort Rucker, Al because my hubby is in the military. I am from Tucson, AZ but home is Reno, NV.
Well, I'm way down here in Dothan, so you aren't far from me at all! We have a scrapbook store here, and there's a scrapbook store in Level Plains as well.

Hello, ya'll! I stumbled upon this thread because I was born and raised in Alabama (Blount County--in a tiny little town called Blountsville, on hwy. 231, almost exactly between Birmingham and Huntsville). I also lived in Gadsden for a little while when I was a child. We live in Arkansas now, which is an 8 hour drive to get home. But it's better than the much longer drive from Reno, NV, where we lived before we moved here.
I'm in Pensacola, just across the AL-FL line....drop me a line in you are in the area. We have our own studio here...so please PM me if you are interested in coming our way.

My friend owns a scrapbook store in Huntsville/Madison - it is called Once Upon a Scrapbook and it is located on Hwy72
I am back in sweet home alabama! And Conselo just moved to Alabama too!
I own a home in Harvest - in the East Limestone County area (part of harvest is in Madison county and part is in Limestone county -weird huh?)
We bought property in Gurley and will eventually build a house there one day.
It would be great to have a North Alabama get together --
LDSDinks 1993 - You're definitely making me homesick. Until 1997 we lived in East Limestone, near the intersection of East Limestone and Capshaw roads. We had a Harvest address, and were in the Athens phone book. No one ever knew how to find us. Is it still like that?

Have you been back lately?? Sadly, it doens't look the same with a bank, Dollar General, and a Wellness center right there on that corner. I just about flipped last month when I was driving thru. I would still live there in a heartbeat over Meridianville because the area feels like home.
You know Dolores Slusher?? SHe is just the sweetest lady and her store is awesome!!
Yes I know Dolores - I met her through her daughter Karen (the other owner). My husband used to work with Jerry (karens' husband) and I even worked with him for a while. They are awesome people!

Oh My - it has grown SO much you would not recognize it! I live near that intersection now! They have built a couple little strip mall (not as in naked strip - lol). Just on that corner, they have a new bank, dentist, chiropracter and dry cleaners. On the corner across the street - they are about to open a huge Chevron station. Just past where dollar general and the dr office is - they opened a health club and right on the other side of that is Joes Pharmacy! Log on to my website and click on the homes link and see if you recognize my house!
OK, here goes (please forgive me if this would be considered a thread hijack). Remembering that we left 10 years ago...the picture on your web page looks awfully like a house further down E Limestone from the Capshaw intersection, closer to the school. A family named Walker owned it then, we went to the same church. They had a 12 or 13-year-old grandson with MD. I don't remember the house with a carport or pool, but they could have been added.
When we were there, the only businesses within miles were the gas station across from E Limestone school, and 3 or 4 small shops - one of which was a very good pizza place. It's amazing that there are so many businesses there now! When we built that house in 1987, the businesses in Madison only went as far west as the pharmacy at the corner of Jeff Road and Hwy 72. We were way out in the country. Now I bet Madison and Athens have almost grown together. Really, really, really homesick now!
Your web page is a great personal view of Iraq. I have to go back and read it some more.

We bought the house in November 2004. It was a couple with two young girls - but I am not sure who they bought it from. It is down Capshaw and off McLemore Circle - pretty close to the high school. That pizza place is still there and has the BEST pizza. Just had some Saturday night actually! Come back and visit - you can stay with me

I know this wasn't directed at me, but I now where you live!! One of my best friends from high school lived in McLemore circle and we would walk thru that neighborhood (both sides) all the time. That's such a cute neighborhood.

Well, if you are ever in my neighborhood - come by and introduce yourself! If my hubby answers the door, just tell hom you are a split coast stamper and he will let you right in!
I am moving to Prattville, Alabama just north of Montgomery in 10 days.
I'm looking forward to it, but I do love the Florida Panhandle, and I'll miss the beach.
WELCOME!!!!! You will love Prattville. I know it's not the beach but we are surrounded by a lot of water and downtown is beautiful! PM me anytime you need and when you get to town I'd love to meet you!

I personally don't like Distinctive scraps. I feel like a hobo when I go in there. *lol* Where is there an A.C. Moore? What have you found in B'ham?
