Default Any good unmounting tutorials out there?

I'm looking for a video or some step by step instructions (with photos) of how to unmount SU stamp sets. Know of any good ones?

Thanks!

I'd be interested in seeing a video! I've been debating this for a while, but too afraid to take the plunge.

I am in the same boat as the original poster. I am too much of a chicken to start on the project, I have over 200 sets and really want to un-mount them but afraid that I am going to ruin them.

Thank you for the link.

Thumbs up

I'd say about 80% of my Stamps are unmounted. And I purchased them that way.

The Angel Company sells unmounted Rubber stamps and has for a couple of years now.

We still have to cut out our own stamps. No die cut for us yet!

That might be something I might suggestion to them.

On another note. If you already have stamps that are wood mounted. And aren't sure you want to unmounted them all. Why not try unmounting 1 stamp set.

And get it a try. Remember you'll need something smooth to use for stamping with.

Don't have any Acrylic Blocks? Why not try a Ink pad lid, or a Bottom of a Glass.

As long as it's smooth you can use it to stamp with.

I don't know of any but it's very, very easy to do... you really just peel off the existing backing off of the rubber and remount it on new cling foam (if that's how you want to use them...) I put as many unmounted stamps I could on a sheet of the cling then dusted it with baby powder before I trimmed them. The baby powder helped keep my scissors from getting sticky.

Hey, try going here:

http://prairiepaperandink.typepad.co...unmounted.html

this was extremely helpful when I did mine. I remembered writing a blurb on my blog about my adventures in unmounting and ran across this again Hope it helps.

This is my favorite thread. Many pictures and resources. My suggestion, just do it! after you do a set or two, like everything else, you will get better at it. I index the cling (aka EZmount) with Stazon so that the image is visible through the CD case. That makes the process longer and messier (love that Stazon!) but i am very happy with the results.

good luck!
