Default Another starter kit question...ink colors?

Hi everyone,
I finally decided to take the plunge and become a hobby demo. {so excited!} I will probably not buy all the full size inks as I do not have the space and really prefer the portability and ease of the spots. Since the kit comes with six full size classic inks, I want to choose some that will get lots of use. So far thinking of getting Basic Black, Chocolate Chip and Going Grey...what do you ladies think, any suggestions?

Thanks!

You have chosen good neutral colors. How about Night of Navy or Not Quite Navy? Or a Certainly Celery, real red, or Mellow Moss. These are just colors I tend to use a lot. Sahara Sand is also a GREAT neutral. Too bad, you can't get crafts...cause Craft white is a necessity!!!

I just selected mine and because I have the regular colors I got some of the incolors and sahara sand. I do not recommend the basic black or brown as they are not a true watercolor. That said, if you are only going to have a few full size pads, I would get ones that you would most likely use for background stamps. Spots are great, but not great for inking up a background or brayering.

Personally, if I were getting just a few, I'd go with Night of Navy, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, Blush Blossom, the Dark Grey (can't remember the name) and Black (if you don't need it for watercoloring) because I think these make nice backgrounds on a variety of different color papers.

Basic Grey is a must!! I now use this for watercoloring - it is much more waterproof than black. I almost never use my black. I use brown a lot - so choc. chip is an excellent choice. Maybe a red too? I use red a lot, but I think it depends on what YOU use!! Have fun!

I would get the Basic Gray, Basic Black, and Basic Brown as they are all able to be used with watercoloring. I really like mine. :0)
