There was a thread earlier about sending cards to a nursing home.

It has disappeared. I looked in my "subscribed threads" since I had posted to it and it is gone. Whosh.... vanished.

I am curious more than anything as I have already adopted a Nursing Home and wasn't planning on participating.

Just curious.

I think is was hoax and that is why it was deleted, I heard some other gals talking about it in a swap thread too... don't know any thing else!

I wondered about that. It sounded fishy when she wanted the cards to be sent to her to pass out.

I don't know. Lots of gals have asked for cards for various reasons. Why would hers be a hoax and the others okay?

I didn't see it but maybe there was something else in it that violated some/one of the TOS for the site. That seems to be the only reason why a thread would get yanked.

I read on another thread that some ladies did some research on a few RAK requests for nursing homes and that the homes NEVER had any idea of what they were talking about. Turns out the same person has opened a couple SCS accounts to do this. Don't know if this is the same person...but I do know the false person's thread was closed and deleted.

I donate my swap cards to an adult day care center my parents attend...but in no way ask others to pitch in. A while ago some lady contacted me about donating cards to a nursing home she donated to...and being kind hearted...I donated a FULL Flat Rate box and then while doing some searching on eBay...found almost all my cards being sold there!!! I was disgusted and reported that seller. I never fall for these anymore. I just go and adopt nursing homes and do the volunteering on my own.

Oh my goodness. That's terrible. I actually asked for donated cards for a missions fund raiser for my church and I received some and are using them for the fundraiser, but my post was deleted by the moderators saying that that wasn't allowed, so no big deal. I guess not everyone is honest.:( It's sad that we have to worry about donating when the cause seems so good.
