I went to a camp a couple months ago in Alliance and I truly think I met her there. Her SCS name sounded familiar when you said that she was your friend and then I did go to her blog. I can't swear I met her . . . but I think I did! Does she live in Green? The problem is that everyone there was new to me and I'm really having trouble remembering where everyone lived!
If you spot me at the convention, PLEASE tap me on the shoulder and say hello! I still have your info on the back of one of my business cards but just haven't had time to get in touch due to DH's health and all. In fact, I'm sitting at Cleveland Clinic right now and Tammy let me know you guys were "talking behind my back" so to speak, LOL!!!
You'll love Tammy's store .. she packs a lot of good stuff into a small area and is very willing to help you where she can!!

Ha! I THOUGHT that was you! Small world, huh? I do believe it was your group who told me about this event! If I see you, I will certainly tap you on the shoulder. Please do the same to me!

I'd have known it was her for sure if you'd have said she was your sassy friend with sassy red hair! LOL She kept me laughing that day, that's for sure!
Yes, but Cathy from DRS Designs won't be there! :(
Sorry! I may be at the Springfield, MA show though...if you feel like visiting scenic New England in early June or you happen to be going to the Dave Matthews show in Hartford, CT that same weekend!!! LOL

But, I want you to come to Akron! LOL C'mon, pack yourself in the box with my stamps and hit the road!

Now, you're going to get me in trouble! ;) I didn't say Darlene was sassy... just her hair! LOL (Well, OK maybe she's a little sassy!)
I'm subbing, cuz I'll be near Akron this summer and want to come back to this thread to remind myself what I need to do when I am there (besides visit my in laws, of course!)
I am soooo envious of all of you who are going to the stamping convention. I was born and raised in Akron (in Ellet to be exact), and I spent my honeymoon at the Quaker Square Hilton. You are all making me homesick. . . .I currently live in Florida and have been here for the past twenty years. . . .but I recognize all the names of the streets and landmarks everyone is referring to. I wish I could come up for a visit and go to the convention with you all. . . . hope everyone has an awesome time.
I'll be there on Saturday. I went last year for the first time and it was great. I started a thread on the Get Together forum and did not get many responses. I am glad to see there are more ladies going. I was beginning to think I would have the place all to myself (wink).
Iam not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet but be sure to bring a tote bag or backpack for all your purchases. And wear comfy shoes.
Hope you ladies have a good time.

GREAT ... hope to see you there!! I'll be the one with the black SCS shirt that has AKRONSTAMPERDPK across the back of it!! I have my tote, money & comfy shoes all ready!!
Last year my daughter wasn't able to come to the convention after I had already purchased her ticket, so my husband came with me. He doesn't usually like this kind of thing, but he had fun. (At least, that's what he keeps telling me.) My daughter backed out at the last minute again this year, so I have an extra ticket should anyone need one.
I saw several husbands there last year. I even met one that is a stamper. My hubby better stick with golf. No way do I want him invading my stamping serenity. Even though I love him dearly.

Thanks for the tote reminder that is a great idea, I am also bring a a price list of the stamps I want of the vendors that will be there to make sure I am getting a good price.
I have gone to every adventures in stamping that has been in Akron......Love it. I even went with a cane one year...could hardly walk. It is a lot of fun. I have been to toyrifix a few times too....It is a great store. Unlike anything else in this area. Be sure to go to the Barn Restaurant if you have time. Very nice place and great food.
Hope to see some of you gals at the ais. We should all wear name tags w/scs on them so we can recognize each other.
I'll be there tomorrow (Saturday)! This will be my fourth year going. It's always so much fun! This year I'm definitely trying to hold myself to a budget. But who am I kidding???
Yep I spent way too much money too but I bought what I had planned on buying. The night before I went on line to the vendors website to see what I wanted from them made a list and stuck pretty close to it. I was so glad I took a tote bag and a pad and pen to write down the demo instructions. You always think you will remember how to do something but draw a blank at home. I was able to do a make and take at stampscapes . It was a fun but exhausting time.
I went and enjoyed it. I did not spend as much as I did last year. I only bought a few stamps (Inky Antics and Denami) and a Staz-on reinker. If anyone has gone in the past did you think there were fewer vendors this year? Last year was my first time going and I was so overwhelmed. This year not so much. I was able to browse every booth and I even did a few make-n-takes. It also did not seem as crowded as last year.

This was my first year going and I did enjoy it. I saw LOTS of neat things and did spend some money! I didn't buy tons, but had some fun. Now I just need to have time to play with things! I got a couple Spellbinders dies, a few cute rubber stamps, a butterfly punch (for some reason I'm into butterflies these days), and CM cutting system blades along with a new power sort to store my Nesties. I didn't go overboard, but easily could have. I was a bit overwhelmed but was glad I walked around first and then went back to where I wanted to stop and shop.
I had a great time! I loved the designs at Denami; finally found my cute little sea shell stamps! Too Much Fun had wonderful ideas with its shirt and purse design stamps; didn't buy any of them, but am considering getting them online. Then, dropped a lot of $$$ at Rubber Stamp Studio for several A Muse stamps. I just love their simplicity and their cute sayings! Can't wait for the Oct. 3 show in Strongsville!

I only bought 2 Whipper Snapper stamps, but can't remember what store it was that was selling them. I don't typically buy much at those things because I'd rather buy it from myself and keep myself in business! LOL And I added some more Copics to my collection from Gary Burlin. I have a Denami catalog here at the store, but had never given it much attention, but have changed my mind after seeing their stamps on Saturday. This catalog I have is 5 years old, and I see nothing in the catalog that resembles what I saw at the show. The little "chicks" they had were adorable and many other things. I'll definitely be thinking about ordering from them.
I too, though there were a few less vendors than other years. I knew in advance they weren't going to be there, but was still disappointed at not seeing those Rubbernecker girls at the show!
I thought Saturday was pretty crowded but subday was the best day because you could walk around without bumping into someone every 2 seconds. You could also do more of the make and takes. I really had a great time at Marcos paper booth they had Susan Pickering Rothamel she was very nice and very creative she had some really fun techniques.
I had a great time at Adventures in Stamping on Saturday with 3 friends. We spent 3 hours at the convention, spending to much money, then went to Hollos Paper store in Brunswick and bought even more. Now I just need lots of time to play with all the new stuff.
