Default ? about brayers

I have a questions about the rubber brayer.

1. If I ink it in a dark color will I only be able to use it with dark color ink from then on?

2.How do I clean it?
(So far I have only used it with yo yo yellow and cleaned it with a baby wipe.)

3. Do I need more than one?

TIA, Mary

Hi Mary,

Hot soapy water is my favourite way to clean dye or pigment ink off the brayer. The rubber brayer may stain if you use a dark colour but it does not come off in your next project if your wash it really well in hot soapy water.

I do not think you need more then one but if you do not like the stained rubber you could get another.

HTH!

Hi Mary and Welcome
I clean mine also with hot soapy water. I have heard that if you use it on black you are better off to have 2 so I have 2

I have two, one for black and one for everything else. It cleans up great. I ususally "run it out" on my mat and then run under water and that's been fine so far.
