Default Weekly Fun Post 10/22/16

This week's question is:

What is one thing that you have learned about yourself during your time as a scrapbooker/stamper? (It can be something related to how you work or who you are.)

I've learned that I have to think about something for a while before I buy it. I try not to jump on bandwagons just because others are buying it. Most of the time, after a few days, I realize that I don't really need it and I wouldn't really use it. Of course, there are exceptions. If I REALLY love something - like the Lawn Fawn Dachshund stamp sets - well, all bets are off.

Me too. I will pull out things and lay them on my work table at 10 pm right before I go to bed and the next morning they just seem to fall in place. When something new comes out I wait and see if... A) They are a good product and B) if I really really need it.

Another fun question!

I've learned that I'm a lazy stamper so if a project has several steps (even if they are fun, easy, and/or quick) I will (or should) pass on it. Related to this is that I've learned there are styles that are not my style so I skip over those too.

I've learned that sometimes quick and easy is best (I call it "get 'er done). And sometimes many steps and much time make for a layout I am really happy with, if it's pretty and tells the story.

I do my best work with a time limit. It forces me to go with my first instinct, which is usually the best (isn't that the advice those standardized test proctors used to give us?). Given unlimited time, I overthink and ruin whatever I am working on. I have also learned too many choices overwhelms me and I freeze up creatively, so (gasp!) I shop for craft supplies just twice a year from one company. One more thing I have learned - I can't create a layout unless I have something to say (journal). Pictures are accessories to me.
