Default Scrapbooks, Etc

I just found out that Scapbooks, etc. won't be published anymore. They substituted it with Better Homes and Gardens to finish out my subscription. Boo hoo! I used to get 3 or 4 scrapbooking magazines and now it seems like Creating Keepsakes is the only one around. They are all going the way of the dinosaur. I hope that's not an indication about the hobby itself as a whole.

Scrapbooks, Etc was the only one I subscribed to, the other stamp/scrap mags just got a quick glance at the bookstore. I'm really sad. Niche publications tend to come and go, the nature of the business. The mega-corp that published it was looking at numbers, not at the dedication and passion of the readers. Magazines are on the way out and the numbers of scrappers and stampers is dwindling a bit but certainly our crafts are alive and wel. I hope it cycles around and picks up again.

I also got the letter that Scrapbooks, Etc. was no longer being published... I had been a subscriber for about 4 years, the only scrapbooking magazine I subscribed to... that is sad news! I would rather have a subscription to another scrapbooking magazine rather than a Better Homes & Gardens subscription so I wrote to the company and asked for a refund on my subscription so I can put that towards the magazine of my choice. We'll see if they are willing to do that and IF there are any scrapbooking magazines left to subscribe to!

I got the same notice from them. Better Homes and Gardens is NOT my type of magazine at all. I guess I'll just be out the money.

I've seen other posts on a different board stating that they contacted the company and were able to chose a magazine other than BH&G or were able to get a prorated refund.

If you call them, they will refund your money and will cancel your subscription to BHG.
