Excellent weather yesterday for doing outside chores, but I was working so I couldn't make the time to do them. Today was chilly, cloudy and breezy, and tomorrow is supposed to be rainy, chilly and very windy.
Falling from the skys...more rain...it's been raining off and on all day today! Right now it's pouring outside...very loud on the skylights. The kitties don't seem to mind it that much! At least no thunder!

Hope everyone is having a good day. Mine is quiet here at the office. Boss is conducting a mediation, but that means a free lunch for me. Yippee! had grilled salmon salad.
I just got home from work, wasn't supposed to work today but someone requested me to sub for them and I have trouble saying no to this woman, she's my favorite at the school. I just hope she's back tomorrow.

Julie, that's great that you got requested for the position. Our principal called me this evening to sub for one of the kindergarten teachers tomorrow. She mentioned she wanted to ask me first because I've already worked with that class this year, so the kids and I are all familiar with each other already.
Like today, the whole day went great and then the last class I was in a little boy threw up right in class. Of course the entire section of classrooms had to leave because of the smell...poor little guy. I do have to give our principal a lot of credit, he was right in there helping to clean up when he heard about it.
That is an example of when it's not fun.

Now, I have experience in the classroom doing all of that....including the clean up! Lucky for me my classroom was near the bathroom. So, I told the kids if they were "in need" like that....to signal me...and head to the bathroom. That worked a couple of times!
Well, it's like pea soup outside....so muggy and foggy out there! Big YUCK! We are suppose to have more rain today...and tonight...and some tomorrow. So, the model rocket building will happen on Saturday...but, the flying might not!

Outside here is beautiful and sunny today, and I didn't have to work, so I've been outside enjoying it. Now I have to get some things done around the house. I'm so glad to have an entire day at home and have the energy to make the most of it.

Really..... snow, Tasha!? It was 90* today in the Dallas area! I'm in shorts right now! It is so muggy and we are expecting some storms tonight. I think it's to be cooler by tomorrow...in the 60's! Which is cool for us...but, I know...nothing compared to what you are having! I know that's why I would live up, up north! But, it would be great to visit your area....about July! That's when we are in the 100*+!

Snow here too. YUCK YUCK. It has been a miserable three days with rain and wind, not snow off and on. Waaaaayyyyy to early for that. I'm personally offended! But the woodstove feels awesome.

"They" are saying that we will even have a colder winter down here in H Town and more snow that usual. Well, any snow is more than we usually have. I am certainly not looking forward to that.
Usually we don't get cooler weather this early...but, it looks like we'll get it soon too! I guess we'll get it before Maggie does. I know...it's not a race!
I need to make several cards....in the next few days! Gosh....how did I get so behind?

Violins would be playing in our house if we got snow in October, I would be whining the whole time! I like some snow to fall in the winter, but I prefer December or January, thank you. In fact last year we had THEE most beautiful white Christmas you could imagine. Fresh snow on 12/24 and then the sun was shining Christmas day. Can't wait to scrapbook those pictures.

Zoomed around all day long, it's so nice to just be home with family tonight. And I agree about the Christmas thing. I am a Christian, but even if I weren't, just spell out the entire name of the holiday. We don't say Xentine's Day for Valentines or Xgiving for Thanksgiving, so just spell it out. (I don't like texting either, lol!)

All quiet here! Working on some cards....and went to a stamp shop today. Found a few goodies. Then this weekend is a garage sale at the local scrapbook store. I'll probably go on Sunday...can't fit it in on Saturday. So, if there is something cool still there....it was meant to be!

Can't say I envy you, PH, my best friend was in charge of box tops for a couple years and you can probably guess who got railroaded into helping her. I was actually glad when her youngest went to middle school, I was even more glad that she didn't volunteer me to take her place.

Fall!? We seem to have had about 5 1/2 days of fall and have leapt right into winter. YUCK. However the long range forecast is for warming up and sunny so hopefully this little system will pass and we'll still get some lovely days. It has been trying to snow this afternoon again.

Getting your cold air, Charlene, we're getting a chilly wind from the northeast today. It's sunny, though, and so pretty. We're having a beautiful fall, though I guess on Monday it's supposed to start raining and stick around a few days. We're supposed to get a mild winter this year. We'll see.

Had a mostly cloudy and cool day here today, with highs only in the 60s. Yesterday was sunny and gorgeous and in the mid-80s. I just wish the weather would make up its mind!
(Julie - regarding the Box Tops - I've been doing it for our elementary school since 2004. I really don't mind it much. It's time consuming, yes, but it isn't difficult work. I've also been in charge of the Campbell's labels and IMO they are worse to have to work with. This is my last year with a child in elementary school so I'm keeping "just two more shipments" in the back of my mind, LOL.)
I have managed to make my card for the day finally, and finished a book I've had on the go for a few days. I have a challenge to myself to make a card or two every evening am home. I need a lot of cards in the next month. So far so good! And then I am going to keep up with Julie and make a card out of every set I own. hmmmm--of you use 2 or 3 sets on one card, does that count as 2 or 3??

Just was thinking of that a little while ago, I think it definitely counts as 2 or 3. I have a lot of background stamps, and I can't just use only a background stamp on a card, so yes definitely counts.

Kind of rainy and dreary here this morning. I do have a load of laundry going, but other than that, need to shower and get ready for church. I have a meeting at my house later this evening so I need to run the vacuum and tidy up a bit.
Now, I could probably get in on that challenge too, as long as I wasn't pinned down to how often I had to work on the cards. I can't get to my stamp room every evening after work, but I should branch out and use some of those stamp sets that I haven't ever touched.
Must be a great idea, Julie! Let's somehow help and encourage each other. I don't think we need a deadline, as we all have different times available. Just somehow when we can, using old sets we haven't touched for ages. I'm thinking of starting with the oldest ones I have. Next year though, right? I like the resolution idea.

Perhaps that last post should have started with the letter "O"?
Quite right! Since when does the alphabet have m after n??
