F4A91 Pixellated (11/18/11)
This week's challenge is inspired by our online life.
As we all Photoshop our cards and prepare images for the web, we rarely stop to appreciate the building blocks of our online life - the PIXELS!!
I remember the first time I saw those square, colored blocks magnified in Photoshop and was amazed at how even our curviest images are built, square by square.
So today, we celebrate those elemental blocks of color with a hip to be square pixellated challenge.
Your assignment is to use colored squares on your project. Bonus points if they are lined up or if there are more than three!
For my sample I took a 3 x 3 square of watercolor paper and made a grid of 1" squares. Then I used my Aquapainter and ink refills to paint the grid.

If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!

This still amazes me any time I zoom in to deal with red-eye or suchlike. Or when I accidentally open Paint, which seems to live zoomed in...
I'll contemplate the possibilities while I finish lunch.
I think I will try this later! I have been enjoying this site for years now but have not done any of the challenges...perhaps this will be my first! Thanks for the inspiration!
Maybe not exactly what you had in mind Lydia, but I do have lots of squares... Here is my card for Cindy's mom.

Oh....I really didn't have time to play today but Lydia's challenge looked soooo fun that I couldn't help but play along!
Please come check out my "Pixeled Friend" card.
Here's my version of a pixillated look. Here's my Pixillated Just For You in honor of Lydia who does such a fabulous job both in the HYCCT challenge and throughout the year here on splitcoast!
Here I am, Lydia as promised. My Square Pixel card is my tribute to you. I had so much fun making the HYCCT cards and chatting and making friends in the "Chatter" thread. Winning was icing on the cake. {{HUGS}}

Good for you Michelle - just jump in and start playing in the challenges. They're fun and it's the way that I think I've grown in the art of cardmaking by getting so many ideas from the other players. Can't wait to see what you do with this challenge. Welcome!
Interesting challenge, Lydia....and for someone into computers, a very apt choice. Don't know if my card is exactly what you wanted from us, but it is my attempt at a pixelated bg.
