And I find I almost never BAKE in my bread machine- mine doesn't have an adjustable setting for the crust, and it bakes too dark a crust for me. I LOVE using it to mix dough, though!
i think i may "cheat" on dinner tonight. it's going to come out of a box or a bag from the frozen section.
i did though slow cook an awesome pork roast last night. very simple indeed, just used lipton onion soup and water..thats it hey my kids ate, so it was good, lol.
hmmm Sam- I may have to drag out my bread maker. I haven't used it for about 3 years.
The Twinkie dessert- not so good. No even my mom who made it really cared for it. I would say next time just stick with the just the plain ol' Twinkies.
I'm not making anything tonight. There are plenty of leftovers and Jesse is gone painting again. Joey is with Grandma so it's just Alex and I. Not too hard to make dinner for him.
Thanks for posting the bread maching pizza dough Sam. I may have to dig my bread maker out and actually use it. It's been about three years...
I'm like Pat, I use mine for dough most of time. Rolls, cinnamon rolls, and pizza crust. I get homemade dough without the fuss of waiting for it to rise and having it not!
Last night I made chicken patty sandwiches and french fries.
The patties were from Golden Plump- I didn't mind then and niether did Jesse, but Joey took one bite and then spit it out. We've been talking about when he turns 5 he needs to try and EAT more foods.
Last night I made baked lemon pasta and a lemon pepper version of P-dubs spicy roasted chicken legs and corn on the cob.
Tonight we had ground ring bologna sandwiches and chips.
Tomorrow is supposed to be breakfast for dinner, but I think we'll have left overs instead and breakfast on Friday. Saturday both of my sisters are coming over so I'm going to do a couple pork roasts in the crock pot and make mashed taters and probably stuffing to go with it.
Here are the recipes if any one wants them.

Pasta looks YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!
I think that Joey may even eat that!!! PW has wonderful stuff doesn't she?
I'm on my 4th night of soup (chicken noodle 3 times and potato tonight). I can't wait to be over whatever this crud is that I've got (tummy & trots). And the miserable thing is I HAVE to go to work, I have no sick days! DH is getting tired of quick fix meals- tomorrow night I'm making him catfish that I picked up at the store tonight. (He's been fed chicken nuggets and tater tots, smoked turkey I had stashed in the freezer, and bake it yourself pizza, which was actually very good) If I'm not eating, and I don't feel well, I'm not standing at the danged stove creating!

Yucky! I'm so sorry. Hubby has to fend for himself if I'm sick, actually he better be catering to me! I'm a mean wife!
Tonight, I'm going to bake some pork chops. Since I'll have the oven on anyway, I'll probably cube up some red potatoes, toss them with some seasonings and bake those too.
Tomorrow I'll be cooking up a HUGE ham that MIL dropped off yesterday. Anyone have any tips for cooking a ham? Or a good recipe? I don't think I've ever made one....

I love to glaze ham with brown sugar, mixed with plain old yellow mustard into a paste, and ad a little ground cloves. Wait until your ham has quit putting out a lot of juice (naturally, that would wash the glaze off!) and then brush a coating onto the ham. I usually recoat the ham several times, to end up with that nice crackly crispy coating. Love the way it tastes!
I'm slacking off in the cooking department. I traveled for business yesterday, so we went out to our favorite Italian place. They know us by name there. Tonight we had leftover BBQ chicken and fruit salad from DH's work event. Tomorrow we are going to a baseball game and packing our own sandwiches.
Well, I had a bowl of coffee ice cream for dinner, but I made DH catfish, lightly breaded and fried in butter with some ranch seasoning, with tater rounds and peas. (He insists having fish means having peas, who am I to argue? I don't eat fish!)
I have been taking a cooking class once a week just for fun. there is a local kitchen shop here that does them for free and they are awesome. She does most of her cooking in a pressure cooker. Now, my mom bought me one several years back but I have always been afraid to use it. I don't know why. Mom uses hers a few times a week and always brags about how the food tastes and how quick it is. My grandma used one all the time when my mom was growing up.
So.....the cooking class has been incredible and the food that she makes is out of this world.
I made beef stroganoff in the pressure cooker the other day and from start to finish......20 minutes! (except the homemade noodles and those take 3 mintues to make the dough, let it sit for 30 mintues and then it is quick and easy to run thru the pasta maker). My hubby and DS love it when I make fresh pasta.
This lady claims to be able to make an entire Thanksgiving meal to feed 30 people in an hour and a half. She charges $10 for that class and I can't wait for it!!! She even makes her turkey in a pressure cooker!

I remember my first time using my pressure cooker- I called my mother and made her stay on the phone with me the whole time it was cooking. What she could have done, being a half hour drive away I don't know, lol, but I needed the reassurance. I always use mine to start the process of making vegetable beef soup, I love the flavor of the beef and broth done in the pressure cooker. Of course, by the time I add everything to the soup, it outgrows the danged cooker, and ends up in TWO huge pots! I cannot make a small batch of soup.
you ladies are going to laugh- I've never seen a pressure cooker!
I still have yet to pull my bread maker back out from the depths of the cupboard.
Kudos to you Hoth2Os for taking the class AND MAKING YOUR OWN PASTA!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. you're right it's been awhile!
Last night I made a full chicken in the CP and then a veggie blend with carrots, yellow carrots, green beans, and red peppers. YUMMY!!! I told my hubby that I think that I should become a vegetarian.
I ate my weight in baseball park food today - yummy!
I need to figure out what we are having for dinner tomorrow. DH is gone all day and I'm crafting with a friend, so I should probably consider something that can go in the CP. Especially since it is still in the 90's here.
Tonight I am making SURF and TURF! Steamed crab legs for Jesse and I am also doing bacon wrapped sirloin steaks and either mashed taters or rice pilaf!

Your baby is getting so big!!
Yummy! I want to come to your house. I have a ribeye thawed in the fridge and I may make some shrimp scampi. You inspired me.
I haven't posted in awhile again. Sorry about that.
Friday night we had frozen pizza and quesadillas made with pico de gallo. Saturday my younger sister and her family and my older sister all came over and we had pork roast, gravy, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and cream cheese pecan pie for dessert. Yesterday we just ate left overs. Tonight, providing we don't lose power due to high winds, we'll have pigs in a blanket and probably fries as a side with a veggie to be determined later.
Tonight was one of the THICK ham steaks, with baked potato and carrots. I had eggplant and mushrooms, sauteed in Oriental sesame oil with fresh garlic as my side. No vampires gonna get me tonight, no sir!

What is cream cheese pecan pie????

Tonight is spaghetti with sausage, yesterday was a chicken pie. I did try the Gyro's last week and they were a hit with DH and I - though DS ate the meat in pita shell with mustard, and DD ate the meat and cheese, no bread, with steak sauce. Weird children.
Tonight is glop- requested by DH. (Glop is a generic term coined by one of my dear old friends to cover anything of a one pot starch/meat/sauce combo) DH requested those round pasta things, you know kind of tube like? (translation- penne) With the ground beef I made out of a chuck roast last night. (And being British, he pronounces it past-a, not pahsta.) So, mini penne pasta with mince (Brit speak for ground beef) and sauce. I'm more than happy to make stuff this simple!
Tonight is apricot chicken. It is supposed to go on the grill, but I don't feel like grilling. You take apricot preserves, red wine vinegar, garlic, and olive oil to make a glaze. Hopefully it works out in the oven. I need to steam some green beans too.
Terriyaki marinated flank steak, zucchini, salad, and pears. Super easy and quick!! That darn flank steak will over cook in a heart beat!! No idea for tomorrow, but I think shrimp scampi is sounding mighty yummy!! (Sammy-Stamper). And for sure spaghetti on Sunday. It's an all day process to make great sauce. And a bottle of wine, too. A little for me, a little for the pot.
