Hi Girls!

I think I'm fending for myself tonight as DH is going to a friend's house. We have lots of leftovers and a container of lobster bisque. Yummy! I'm craving crostini and blue cheese. I love blue cheese.

I need to figure out something for tomorrow night. I did make spaghetti sauce last night from the last of our tomatoes. My vines are still growing but I think the night is too cold and the skins are all split. Maybe I'll plant some lettuce.

I am making this rice dish http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Rice-Wi...il.aspx?strb=1, and I am browning chicken breasts with adobo seasoning on them and then adding a can of Rotel tomatoes with lime and cilantro. I hope it is yummy. The rice dish is one of my favorite foods that my grandmother used to cook for me so I know I will like that. I still haven't figured out a veggie yet. hmmmm....maybe corn.

Well I cubed up some chicken breast and cooked that in a little EVOO with some garlic and herb seasoning. Once that was done, I threw in a few slices of bacon to warm up (we had cooked them a couple of nights ago). I cooked some pasta, cooled it. Cut up the bacon into small pieces and tossed that with the chicken and pasta, cubed some colby-jack cheese and some tomato and added italian dressing. I called that dinner. The kids really liked it.

Okay... moved Cheese Fondue to tomorrow night. We went to the Chinese buffet tonight. The kids requested to go to "China", so since DH wanted to look at some houses he saw online, it worked better to eat out. Maybe it was also because DD didn't fall asleep until 2:30 AM that I wasn't in the mood to cook either...

Yum - Chinese and Cheese Fondue!

I can't wait to go to Melting Pot at the end of this month for my birthday. I think I have been there three years in a row now, but I have a coupon for no corkage fee, that saves $20 right there.

I had my blue cheese and toast with lobster bisque. DH came home first and ate with me. I need to make a few birthday cards before they are late.

I made a roast (pork), mashed potatoes and green beans. We are about to make chocolate shakes as soon as I can get DH to go downstairs and get the ice cream.

Tomorrow I have a show so the boys are on their own- no MIL either and then it will be leftovers (if there are any) from my craft show on Saturday.

Last night was cheap pizza for the kids. DH had a couple pieces of that and I ate leftovers.

Tonight DH had PT Conferences, then a recording session with one of the bands he plays with. He didn't even come home after conferences, but went straight there. So, for just me and the kids I made pancakes & sausage.

Tomorrow will be beef roast in the crock pot.

Pizza going strong around here! We had that last night since DH has bowling and I had a conference call late in the afternoon.

Tonight ribeye and baked potatoe with maybe a salad. I'm traveling on business tomorrow thru Tuesday, so DH is on his own. Poor guy!

Last night I butterflied some chicken breasts and seasoned them with garlic, rosemary, pepper and sea salt. Grilled them, brought them in the house and stuffed them with gorgonzola cheese and bacon (that I cooked on the grill). Sealed them with toothpicks and them baked them for 15 minutes in the oven. (when I grilled them, I didn't grill them thoroughly so that when I baked them they would still be juicy and they were). I served them with gorgonzola gnocci (from Trader Joe's) and some sauteed zucchini

Wow, no posts in FOUR days?

Well I actually cannot remember what we've eaten for the last four days . I was sick with the flu and the days just sort of ran into each other. I think I'm probably throwing a roast into the crockpot tonight as I really am trying VERY hard to get motivated to work on the Christmas things I NEED to get done ASAP.

Jaclyn-

glad to hear that you're feeling alittle better!!!

I really haven't cooked in the last few days. I was SO tired from doing shows on Friday night and then the craft show on Saturday that when I got home on Sat. at 3 I went and laid in bed.

Monday night really wasn't anything- just sandwiches

Last night I did get to the store (at the WORST time of day) and picked up some stuff for this week. So I made Pork Chops, butter noodles and corn last night.

Tonight since it decided to snow yesterday and is now cloudy and foggy it will be grilled sammies and tomato soup.

Let's see....it's pretty sad that I can't even remember what I cooked last week. Um....oh yes, Pork Chops with roasted asparagas one night, penne with sauteed mushrooms and tomato basil sauce one night....and that's all I can think of. Surely we ate more than twice in 7 days, right? lol

Yesterday I spent the entire day with MIL at the hospital, and when I got home last night we decided to check out our new house (they're still in the "construction stage") and didn't get back until late, so we had pizza. I was in no mood to do more than grab some napkins and drinks.

Today, who knows? I've got some ground beef in the fridge, so I may do a Shephard's Pie or something like that. I'm in the mood for some comfort food.

Okay, here's a question for you ladies. I'm not sure how many of you are night-owls or super-early-birds, but DH and I have been getting up around 3:30 or 4:00am for about a month (for his job, not because we love the dark morning hours ). Lately, rather than watching the re-runs of Conan OBrien (because it's so early the news isnt even on yet), he's been tuning into different infomercials each day while he gets ready. Usually, it's something fairly ridiculous, but this morning he saw one and was super excited. Me, not so much. He was ready to call and buy it, but I told him I'd ask on here if any of you lovely ladies have heard of it or own it and can vouch for it before he takes the plunge. It's called a Nu Wave Oven and supposedly can cook food in about 1/2 the time, and even from a frozen state. Here's the website www.nuwaveoven.com. Looks like a "too good to be true" type of item to me and I figure it can't possibly work that well or it would be on the NEWS not on 3am infomercials, but who knows. Any ideas??

Tuesday I made home-made chicken noodle sopup and it was delish!

Today I am making Chicken encilada's

Thursday we are eating out at an Italian Rest. with all the families of my Breast Cancer walk team.

Fri/Sat/Sun my boys are on their own as I will be walking in the Breast Cancer 3-day 60 mile walk!

Glad you are feeling better Jaclyn.

Oh goodness, I hadn't even thought of it reading that way. No, she has had chest pains nearly every day for 2 weeks and after repeated trips to the ER, she was sent to a cardiologist. He took one look at her EKG and admitted her to the cardiology wing of a nearby hospital for further testing and an angiogram early this morning. She has had multiple heart attacks in the past and has a lot of other health issues, so she was a little freaked when he sent us straight to the hospital, rather than suggest some new pills or something like that. I stayed with her until my FIL could get off work and get there. He and my DH are there now, waiting to hear what the results of the tests are. I bailed because I'm simply exhausted from sitting there all day yesterday, but I'll be heading that way shortly.

I'm feeling great, thanks for asking. Starting to wind down a little now that we're getting closer to the end, but I suppose that is to be expected.

Well...yes and no. Because we're building a new house that isn't quite ready, she's doesn't have her own room yet. She's got a great space in our room for the things she'll need now (cradle, clothes, etc) and then once we move to the new house, she'll have her crib and everything over there. Does that make any sense? I sorted all of her clothes and other items, and packed up the things she won't need for a while, so that will cut down on the craziness when she arrives. Originally the house was going to be done about the same time as my due date, but I'm so glad it got delayed because I think one big step at a time is a little easier than trying to handle everything at once.

Good- not for your MIL but for you.

Thank goodness though that they could tell her what it was and just not say it was acid reflux or heartburn.

Hopefully it will be nothing serious!!!

Sorry- I've seen the commercial and was never really hooked on it. Since I use my Crockpot so often I couldn't see using that.

My MIL did get something for all of us a couple years ago like the BULLET- you know that little blender thing. Yeah- worked about 5 times and then it was eating away at the blade part and then the motor just stopped.

I have been interested in the other thing that they have advertised all the time called the GT Express 101 seen here: http://www.asseenontv.com/prod-pages...ml?gid=KITCHEN

I actually called and they charge you for S/H not only on the product itself, but on all the extra things as well. Even though it was advertised 2 for $40 it would've been over $100 just to get the two things.

But I do love the idea with BOTH products that you are spending less time cooking, but with the little grills (like the G. Foremans) they are alittle harder to clean...

I am making beef and ale pie. I have bought a Michel Roux book on pastry, and I have been itching to try it out. Here is a link to it, if you are interested.
http://www.amazon.com/Pastry-Michel-...6505564&sr=1-1

DH and I had out first date at his restaurant Le Gavroche, back in the days when DH had a job that made him miserable but at least he could afford to date there, now I just try to recreate that first meal with cook books, and enjoy the company of a happier husband!

I had potato and bacon fritatta. It was yummo. If I let myself I think I would eat bacon and eggs every day.

I threw a beef roast in the crockpot last night and whipped up some mashed taters to go with it. Tonight I'm not sure what it'll be, probably something quick and easy because I have to volunteer at the preschool and then once the older 2 are home from school we have to go grocery shopping ...... ugh, all 4 kids and just myself, I think I might be a bit nuts.

Last night I made chicken enchiladas and I concocted something new (well new to me).

I mixed softened cream cheese with sour cream, green chilis, garlic salt, pepper and a little chili powder. I mixed it together with the chicken and spread it in the tortilla with some cheese and sauce. My family devoured the entire 9x13 pan last night. It was soooooo good.

Tonight is Rigatony's for a pasta meal with friends.

Tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday are NO COOK days at my house because I am walking in the Breast Cancer 3-day 60 mile walk tomorrow morning!!!

Well, let's see...since the pot roast....

We had spaghetti, eggs & corned beef hash, porcupines, and last night was pork chops, baked potatoes, peas and applesauce (of course!) Tonight will probably be chicken breasts with linguine.

I'm hoping MIL is ok...

In response to 'what you say and how other percieve it' I work in a hospital (office professional - not a nurse - can't handle all that ) and when I was preggers with DD#2, close to the end, I was going to the Birthing center to check the conference room schedule there, and just said "I'm going over to the birthing center"...everyone's head shot up, they thought I was in labor...so I was careful to describe WHY I was going there then on...

Hope our pregnant friends are feeling well - and hopefully still getting sleep...for now.

Dinner - right - that's the thread... ha ha ha
last night I made cheez-it chicken (from the first thread) with liptons rice and broccoli/cauliflower....mmmm good stuff

tonight I may be bringing something in - I'm meeting a friend for coffee after work, and won't want to cook by the time I get home.

Last night my pies turned out well, and looked very Autumnal.

Tonight I am making a curry and Cachumba salad. Just couldn't decide what to have, it'll last until Sunday when DH is home.

I need to get back on the cooking wagon. I just got home on Tuesday night, so last night hubby and I went to a steak place and had prime rib. It was so nice to be alone to talk which doesn't always happen at home because I'm constantly going a mile a minute. Tonight I'm having dinner with a coworker from Atlanta. Tomorrow night has a good chance of being Costco hot dogs or In-N-Out burger as we need to go to Costco and Home Depot.

I did buy a pork shoulder today for cheap, have no clue what do with it!
