DS and I had sandwiches (cold) and will have milk shakes later for a treat.

We went shopping all day today and went out to eat for lunch so I needed something light since I pigged out then.

DH can have leftovers from last night.

I gots no clue. Though, yesterday I was thinking meatloaf sounded good. I have nothing but hamburger, though...makes for a really greasy meatloaf, so maybe I'll stop and get some ground chuck or ground round today.

I made myself a rosti and a Kachumba salad
Tomato onion lemon cayenne and cilantro as you Americans call it. It's Indian and I love it!

We had a meatloaf...they had the pork/beef meatloaf mix at my local grocery, so I got a couple of pounds of that. Should have gotten more, because it shrunk WAY down, but it was good! I put strips of green pepper across the top and a bit of ketchup and my DH loved the green pepper (he loves green pepper in just about everything, LOL!) I'm going to try doing that with my regular meat loaf. I also got some tater tots...it was a pretty easy meal.

We ate early because our school Halloween party was tonight too. Two of my kids went, then I volunteered to work in the kitchen. That way I get some of my service hours out of the way. I really prefer to work in the kitchen at these things...you stay really busy so the time just flies right by.

Friday night we had the goulash, Saturday we had TWO Halloween parties and let me tell ya ..... I don't want to see another hot dog for a LOOONG while. Tonight we had Chicken Cutlets with Pesto Cream Sauce and Crash Hot Potatoes.

Tomorrow night I'm doing a pork roast in the crockpot and mashed baby yukon gold potatoes and green beans with pumpkin pudding for dessert.

Hey! I can drive to YOUR house for dinner tomorrow night! LOL!

What is it about Halloween parties that says "hot dogs" to the organizers? The party my kids' school had on Saturday evening...hot dogs (though they did have sub sandwiches for the adults to buy, thank goodness!) The party we had at church today? Hot dogs again!

Tonight we had popcorn. Tomorrow, who knows?

They had Hot Dogs at Joey's party too and pizza, maybe it's the ketchup that you can put on and make it look like goopy blood? Okay now I'm being gross.

Sorry to hear your morning isn't starting out well, still feeling alright?

I haven't actually cooked anything in DAYS. It's been nice, but I'm so glad to be home. We traveled to my hometown for a baby shower this weekend and my head is still spinning. It was so busy and one weekend is never long enough to spend with my family, who live so far away. We ate some great food, though, the highlight being a brisket my dad cooked for 10 hours on the grill Saturday. Talk about tender and delicious!

Tonight, I'm thinking about meatloaf. We got in late last night and didn't bother to do anything but grab our overnight bag with toothbrushes, etc. and get ready for bed, so we're going to spend the day cleaning out the car and organizing the baby gear we got at the shower. At least a meatloaf can be tossed in the oven tonight and forgotten about for a while.

my goodness...you girls will be having those babies before we know it! I feel like it was just yesterday....wow.

Michelle - hope your day gets better!!

Stef - have fun organizing - mmmm meatloaf. I might eed to make that sometime this week.

Saturday we had leftovers, yesterday my SIL's Halloween party (we had Ziti and Meatballs there...no hot dogs ) tonight DH and I are having broiled swordfish steaks, (not sure of the sides yet) and the kiddos will likely have chicken nuggets or something else. DD1 won't eat it, and DD2, well, she's still kind of little - I get nervous about the whole 'mercury' thing...not that it's good for me to eat, but I figure I'm a much bigger person, ratios and all...

Me too! My son left the car door open Saturday night, so yesterday my car was dead. I have one of those jump starters, but apparently I wasn't connecting it properly, because it took me several tries to start it. I tried recharging the jump starter three or four times to get it fully juiced. Finally I changed the position of the clamp on the battery and started it THIS MORNING. Gah!

Then my middle child spilled nail polish remover on her school skirt. The skirts are made out of polyester and cost a bomb, so I had to rinse her skirt out so the remover wouldn't eat a hole in it. Then I had to iron it to get it at least half-way dry. They were late, of course.

Last night I stayed up until 2:30 AM finishing swaps, only to find that they weren't due until Wednesday, when I thought they were due on Tuesday. Then I found out I should have made 10 of each card instead of 8, so this morning I had to make four more cards!!! Had to cancel the Express Mail postage I printed and print Priority instead...no reason to spend $16 when I can just spend $4.75.

Tonight I have a class, so I can't go back to bed...I have to finish cleaning up my stamp room and putting up my display and finishing any projects I want to display. BLeh, Bleh...

Comfort food sounds really good...I'll have to thing what that might mean for today. I have some hamburger, but hamburger stroganoff, Western Skillet Rice or spaghetti aren't on (middle child is having spaghetti for lunch at school. After the morning she had, I don't want to ruin her dinner too!)

Maybe I'll just make tacos. That would make her happy, be relatively simple, and quick too.

Sorry Jan! YIKES...my DD is famous for turning on the lights inside of my car, and leaving them on...don't 'cha love 'em?

Hope your day improves too...

I think tacos are going to be served here this week too!

Do you season your own meat, or do you use a package??

recipe please - or what packet...I haven't found one yet I'm totally happy with...

LOL

Sorry Jan I don't mean to laugh but SERIOUSLY. Makes a person want to start drinking at 9 am doesn't it?!?!?! Scream- no one in the house, although the wind may carry it.

Hey if you start, have one for me!!!
You betcha (to coin a phrase, LOL!)!!!

It gets even more fun. I got all my stuff cut for my class tonight and was all set. I was planning to spend some time relaxing, and then I got an email just now from a customer who hasn't been to class in a long time, asking if she could still come. So...while technically she was too late, I didn't want to say no...I want her to come back! So I said yes and now I have to go cut yet another set of EVERYTHING. ACK! LOL!

I think I'll just go back to bed and stay there...but a little drink sounds pretty good too...and if you don't want the sound to carry when you scream, a pillow comes in awfully handy!

Hi Girls!!

Yummy comfort foods being cooked. I just returned from the Stamping Cruise so I'm not ready to give in to reality yet. Maybe tomorrow! Taking DH out for steaks tonight, I have a craving and the steaks on the ship were not good!!

Of course the only receipts I found for groceries consisted of the following:

6 bags of Halloween candy (not for Trick-or-Treaters)
Hamburger Buns
Red Onion
Jack Cheese
Half-n-Half
Milk (purchased last night before wife returned!)

Guess I'll be going to the store!

Tonight I had a ham and cheese omelette and a multigrain pita bread toasted. Tomorrow Andy and I are going out to dinner to say goodbye to one of our coworkers who has gone to work in the flow cytometry lab at the University Hospital. On Friday I am cooking dinner for us....lambchops, roasted potatoes and some kind of vegetables. Not sure what yet

So last night I did the pork roast in the crockpot. I couldn't find the recipe you use, Michelle for roasts, so instead I dumped in two cans of cream of mushroom soup, 1/2 stick of melted butter and a shake or two of onion soup mix (I buy it in bulk). The meat was VERY tender and FULL of flavor. I did thicken the gravy a bit. I also boiled some baby yukon gold potatoes and mashed them with the skins on. We had green beans for a side and pumpkin pudding for dessert. Just left overs for dinner tonight.

I'm thinking home-made soup today...maybe chicken noodle, since DD#1 has been requesting it. That means that I have to get a chicken, though...and it's a messy business taking all the chicken off the bone after the broth is done. But it does sound awfully good!
