Default Mary Proctor Ironing board cover

Talk about boring subjects!!
I have a Mary Proctor flip top ironing board which I would like to say I inherited from my mother but in truth I received it as a wedding gift over forty years ago (yes, I am that old and still stamping!) The problem is finding a cover to fit. The hardware store where I have bought them forever now no longer stocks them. I ordered one on line and made an assumption because of the price that included the pad. Wrong! The cover cost more than I paid for the pad and cover together plus shipping. I realize people just don't iron much anymore but thought maybe someone out there can tell me where to get a cover and pad at a reasonable price for this board.
