Default Etiquette ? TY to BF Parents

Kind of an odd question here...

My BF and I have been together about a month. We dated a bit before becoming a couple, and I've met and spent a fair amount of time with his family in the past month (they are very close). They seem to like me, but his Mom is a bit standoffish, so is difficult to read.

Anyhow, I had surgery on Friday (a hysterectomy) and BF suggested I stay at his house for the weekend so he can keep an eye on me if I needed anything. I was in and out of consciousness due to wonderful pain meds. He had some family in and out, his parents were there and had dinner, I vaguely remember. His mom was cordial asked how I was feeling so on and so forth.

Background; the house my BF lives in, is the family lake house. He stays there and maintains it, but technically it's his parents and they rule the roost so to speak, and come and go as they please.

I feel like I should write them a Thank you card for allowing me to recover at their house and making me feel welcome there. Not quite sure if that is PC or how I should word it. Any thoughts/ideas? I came back to my house Monday but I'm constantly in and out over there due to my relationship w/ son.

I think a thank you card would be a lovely gesture!

I agree, a thank you card is always a nice idea. I think they will appreciate being acknowledged.

I would do it. A little politeness can go a long way.

Thanks y'all!

I did give a little note thanking them and also for raising a generous and thoughtful son, that it has been a pleasure getting to know their family. She said it brought tears to her eyes and was the nicest card she's ever gotten. . That made me feel good and less intrusive for being here so much!

Default written thank yous go a long way

I feel like I should write them a Thank you card for allowing me to recover at their house and making me feel welcome there.

That sums up what you could say. It never hurts to send written thank yous and they will appreciate it.
