Did anyone else have issues with missing their mother in law. I know it sounds crazy but with mothers day around the corner, I miss her. I am trying to decide if I should reach out and tell her I am thinking of her.

Reach out.... If it gets upsetting...WE ARE HERE
Do what you normally do. A card/and or gift. Let it be just that and see what is what....
If it is too soon or too much...? Well let it be.....
If your feeling that you want to reach out, then do it...
For me personally, there was tension with the MIL...then one day it was gone...I know she loves (d) me and will always think of me as her Daughter.....and with my own mother gone and the new hubby's mom gone...I tend to reach out to her too..Taishea..hang in there and like Hedgie said we are here for you! ( and everyone else too)!

I think I will just send a nice card. It will show her I still care yet I don't have to call and feel awkward right now. Hope everyone has a great Tuesday! It is suppose to be a yucky day here but hopefully it will get nicer by the weekend!
Mother's Day. Ugh.
I didn't/don't miss my MIL. She passed away 6 years ago. She lived in the midwest so we never saw her. She was nice enough to me though.
My mom just passed in Sept. She always made sure to take my boys shopping for me. And I could care less what it was or how much it cost - to have a little something to open from my boys was awesome. (My STBX ignores all holidays when it comes to me) And of course, I miss her too. A lot. Sigh. This is a tough time of the year for me.
Though, I did open a ceramic creation from my son today. It looks um, kind of phallic, but I love it because he made it!! I have a whole ceramic collection of theirs proudly displayed in my dining room. I love that stuff!

Well, I'm fine. Exhausted but fine.
We did not settle.
Mediation again on Monday. UGH
Trial pushed back to the 16th and we drew the awful judge - but awful on both sides. Loose cannon.
Let's just say that the mediator was even surprised about some of the issues she had to explain to my STBX and why he should pay them.
I have a ton of lawyer homework to do - which I'd be doing for trial anyway....that's how I'll spend Mother's Day. Awesome!

Oh and since my stomach was a mess (trots and all) I didn't eat breakfast. We left there at 2! I was so hungry and headachy when I got home!!! We're meeting in the afternoon on Monday and I am so bringing some energy bars or fruit.

I spent Mother's Day 07 preparing for my lawyer. Wow, does this bring back those memories. Oh Jen, why does it have to be so hard. He must really be hard to deal with, cause I know you are a fair person.
Yes, he is. We're not dealing with a full deck here and he's in finances!!!! She said clients without degrees get this stuff, but not him!!!
Here's a little tidbit: Let's just say that the mediator was astounded that he did not understand that he had to give me 100% of insurance reimbursement checks. I paid the bills out of pocket and he thought he should keep 50% of the insurance reimbursement. It took her half an hour to explain that to him!!! And he still doesn't agree.
My lawyer said from now on have everyone bill HIM for the kids..which I will do.

Mine in finance also. Argued over similar things of which you speak, for long periods of time. But, we did eventually settle. Initially. He then stopped paying totally and I had to take him in for comtempt of court. The judge had to make the decision and it was to my benefit cause the judge thought his thinking/reasoning was out of line. He (TJ) threw his pen across the room when the judge gave his decision....that showed additional maturity.
Thanks Karen! You have a wonderful Mother's day too
! And all of the rest of you beautiful ladies! Have a wonderful Happy Mother's day!
