I don't know if you remember my saying about our church being up for sale but it has sold and will be settled on next Thursday. Please pray for our pastor and his wife for this is both exciting but difficult.

Hi, Pegg!! Wish I could also join you for your stampin event and soup.

Kelly, your cookies sound deelish so I am glad they are beyond my reach. I used to wonder about my gifts too so studied the different location they show up in Scripture and read/tested using the book by the Fortunes. Out of all the books I read, this one was the most helpful.

Waiting to hear about our next little baby, Beth, so make sure to post when you know.

How absolutely terrible and sad. Will pray for the Lord to shower them with His grace, mercy, love, goodness, kindness, strength, courage and mercy.

Thanks for the book recommendation. I will order it in the next few days and see what it says. I am so excited to be pointed in the right direction without going through lots of books.

The cookies are good, but not like mom makes

Beth, I hope things are going well for the new little one and the family. Congrats.

hi all:

I hope you haven't forgotten me sisters??? I have been in training the last couple of days, and I am not used to being busy, like running around.
The first day as i was driving to the job...i just kept asking God...give me your strength...i knew by myself i was nothing, I kept repeating I can do anything through Christ who gives me strength. So I have been resting inbetween, last night i fell asleep on the couch sitting up. LOL!

Elee: Praise God about DH's new position

Naner: Congrats! Grammie...yea! i love babies! I trust all is well with mom and baby.

Welcome taylor...if you have Beth alongside of you...you have a good friend indeed.

Beth....p.s. i love you! XXOO

Caterina: i am still trying to catch up...are you sick? I saw something about changing meds??

Hi Doris! Gail! Jan! Gloria!

I know I am missing someone...it is because my little old brain is full of new information.

Thanking God for all of you!

My sentiment exactly!

Of course, we have not forgotten about you <smoochies>. Glad you are checking in. Incidentally, that verse has been around these parts a few things this last week.

Good morning dear friends, it is nearly 50 degrees here!!!! Yeah!

Hope everyone is doing well and having a blessed day.

A contribution for the day.

VERSE:
I will show the holiness of my great name, which has been
profaned among the nations, the name you have profaned among them.
Then the nations will know that I am the LORD, declares the
Sovereign LORD, when I show myself holy through you before their
eyes.
-- Ezekiel 36:23

THOUGHT:
God can and will use us even though we are not worthy vessels
for him to use. Scripture gives us many examples of people God used
when they did not measure up to his moral and holy requirements --
for example, think a little about Samson or most of the other
Judges! God will be revealed as the holy, mighty, and awesome God
that he is. So let's not be unwilling tools in his hands. Instead,
let's offer ourselves to him for his service and his glory.

PRAYER:
Holy Father, make me pure and holy, not just by your grace, but
also in my actions, words, and thoughts. Create a clean heart in me
and renew a righteous spirit in me by the power of your Holy
Spirit. May my life be a holy sacrifice of praise to you. In Jesus'
name I pray. Amen.

Hey girls,

My sister, Lisa, had the baby last night at 11:58....exactly 1 week after my birthday. I hope I can remember this one..I'm awful with b-day dates in our family...another disability of mine! LOL

Mom and dad made it down from Ft. Wayne (about 2 + hours north) while sis was in surgery so got to be at the hospital when they came back to the room. He's such a cutie bug! Awww....can't wait to get some good pics. He was nursing like a wild man so didn't get any shots that are deceint. LOL! His name is Rogan Lyn and he is 8lb 5 oz. We didn't get home till 3 a.m. I'm pretty toasted this a.m....I'l probably be okay till about noon, and then when the house shuts down for nap, I know I will pass out! LOL!

My nephew was with us all night and my dh was a dear to watch all 3 boys and get them tucked into bed while I was at the hospital. They were wide awake and bushy tailed (actually they were wrestling on the top bunk!) at 6:45......Have I said how much I LOATHE being waken up....especially by screaming kids LOL. I suppose when I'm 65 I'll be so sad that the house is quite!

Yes!!!! WE have lots of newbies and we do have a roster for this thread if any of you are interested. Info is kept private and we don't share what details are on the list. We also, on occasion, will e-mail the group for prayer requests and sharing just because some things might be of a more personal nature and one might not want to share with the entire world. So, If you want me to add you to the roster...here is what I'll need....

Name, SCS sign in name, address, e-mail address, b-day and phone if you want to share that.....or any of the parts of info above. I know some done't like to share info so whatever, if any, of the parts you want to share is fine...we can stilla dd you to the list...I do like the e-mail aspect...we often will fwd other great devotionals or thoughs that way too.

Okay, the house is beginning to rumble! LOL! Daycare baby is asleep but needs to wake up, and the 3 prek girls are making an obstacle course here in teh playroom....but I swear I smell poop so need tofind the culprit!

hmmmmm that is an interesting name, is it a family name?
I have never seen Lyn used for a boy.

Congrats on the newest nephew but it sounds like you should share.

Yeah, interesting...but I like it. They have a thing for scottish irish names.....their first is Declan Scott. Funny, they took suggestions from friends and close family. One of my suggestions was Brogan.....so Lisa was telling it to her hubby while he was in the shower and she said "Listen to Beth's suggestion....Brogan..I like it." he says "What....Rogan....??" She says..."No!!... BRogan" He says, "Huh, Rogan? Is that it? Hey, I thnk we found the name...I like it." So, Rogan it is....pronunced like Logan with a R vs. an L. My sis's middle name is Lynette....and this is the end of the road kid wise for them....so that is where they got the Lyn. Now maybe this is a midwestern thing...but I know of two grown men whose names are Lyn. One spells it as that...Lyn-he's a long t ime friend of our family and missionary connections...and then another was a minister that Dad knew...but I think he spelled it Lin. Interesting huh?

Well, I tried to take a nap...but rested for about an hour or so so that's better than nothing. All the kids are asleep....my Sam and my nephew and my dad included!

Here are some verses that I found online that I thought were kind of nice.
http://www.versesrubberstamps.com/Marriage/index.html

As for Bible verses, give me over the weekend and I will post a bunch for you. I leave tomorrow afternoon to go see my folks and will be back late on Monday. I am madly trying to complete some challenge pages so I can put all of my stamping stuff away. DD wants to sew in the family room while I am away.

Good evening everyone. I hope all of you had a great day. Mine ended with my car in the shop again, but that's another looooonng story! lol

Congrats on your new nephew Beth. My daughters name is JaiLynn because her dads name is Jason Lynn and his dad and grandfather are Lynns. So I am used to seeing Lynn for a boy too. Anyway, I pray that he and his mother stay healthy and well.

Nanas cookies: I have this awesome little book that I added on to my last order from the Christian Book store, anyway, it's called The Bible Promise Book and it lists several verses for different words and I looked up marriage and found these verses:
Ecclesiastes 9:9; Proverbs 5:18-20; 1 Corinthians 7:3; Ephesians 5:22-23, 25, 28; Ephesians 5:31, 33; 1Timothy 5:8; Colossians 3:18,19; 1Peter 3:7;Titus 2:4-5

I am so jealous that you get to visit Hawaii Elee and bostonstamps! It is on my top places to visit list. Be sure to take pics so I can live through you vicariously.. lol

Kelly, so sorry to hear of your car problems, never any fun, but thanks for the verses, I am going to go look them up tonight.

Elee, thanks for your ideas also, looking forward to any more ideas you have, want to make this really special for my husband.

Beth, happy for your family with the healthy new baby boy!

I am a picture hound and have still many saved on my computer from the last couple trips. Any particular type of picture---esp. of flowers---I probably have.

Hi everyone, just posting quick before I go to bed. I had a busy day. First, I went to BFF's house for coffee this morning, she is back from vacation. Then I went to work and I had to do recess this afternoon and it was quite the experience. I have never sent kids to the principal's office and today I had to do it three times! Then another kid that the other playground monitor sent to him had a breakdown in his office and we had to listen to this sixth grader screaming for 45 minutes (this particular job has me working in the office for 45 minutes after the recess).

It's so wonderful to be able to come here after a day like this and read all your posts. Caterina, thanks for the devo. again.

Congrats Auntie Beth! I'm envious, I won't ever have a new nephew or niece again. Though if you can believe it, I actually became a great-aunt about a year ago. My great nephew Aiden will be 1 on Feb. 27. So hard to believe he's a year already.

Since I know most of you are off to bed already, happy Friday to all! I have to work all day tomorrow so I won't check in until late in the day.

Wanted to let you all know that I am completely out of the loop now until Tuesday. DH and I are headed over the mountain [and thru the woods-ha ha ha] to my parents home. Tonight we will stop and stay near Portland, Oregon, and then finish the rest of the trip tomorrow morning. Luckily DH still has a free night stay coming at a Comfort Inn. We will also be doing a bit of shopping later today since that Inn happens to be next door to the big mall there. I need jeans and a couple nicer things for the Hawaii trip. My wardrobe is not made up of 'wining & dining' type of pieces.

Have a great weekend away, Elee....enjoy the shopping and time with your parents..and dh, of coarse.

Hi Gloria...I have the The Bible Promise Book that Kelly has and those are verses I would have suggested too. Isn't that book neat, Kelly? It's a handy one to go to for specific verses on any given subject or issue one might be going through.

Wendy (Bostonstamps for you new chickas) have a great t rip. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Well, I need to cut this s hort...my BIL just called and said I need to call my sister....then Ben gets off the bus soon so I'm checking outta here for now. I read everything and will make more commments later. Mom and dad are at our house tonight and tomorrow.

Hugs to all.

Something recently has given me time to learn that even what seems unjust is God' way to get your attention! I was reading tonight (or rather this morning 12:58 am) this devotional and I wanted to share it with my ladies.

http://www.harvest.org/devotional/ar...ate=2008-08-15

Here's something that hit me pretty hard as I studied Job's life. We need to hold everything God has given us loosely. Everything you have has come to you as a gift from God.

Job found that out, and had to declare before God and man, "The Lord gives and the Lord takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord."

Maybe you drive your new SUV through the car wash and admire the way it sparkles and gleams after you wipe it down. Don't forget, that was given to you from God.

Or you pull into the driveway of your home. Don't take it for granted! God has graced you and privileged you to live there.

You get up in the morning and feel like a million bucks, or finish a game of tennis and grab a nice long shower...don't forget. Your health and strength are a gift from God.

You say, "I'm very careful to eat only organic stuff and I have a regular exercise routine." Good for you. But remember, God gave you your health.

God has given you your life. God has given you your wife. He has given you your husband. He has blessed you with children. He has given you everything.

Hold it loosely. He may leave it in your hands for years; then again, he might take it tomorrow. That's up to Him to decide. But it all belongs to Him, and we praise Him every day for what He has given us.

The truth is, everybody suffers. Calamity comes into every life—the righteous and the unrighteous, the godly and the ungodly. The good news is that the Lord can use suffering in the lives of His sons and daughters...to strengthen us spiritually...to make us more Christ-like...to use us to minister to and comfort others...and to prepare us for future tasks that are completely off our personal charts.

What comfort we have in Christ! What an indescribable hope! He is worthy of our complete trust and confidence, no matter what we might be enduring at the moment.

Sometimes, God can use sickness, tragedy, hardship, or difficulty to get our attention. The psalmist said, "Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey your word...It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees" (Psalm 119:67 NKJV).

Are you in a "hot place" right now? Do you find yourself in the fires of difficulty or crisis? You got bad news from the doctor. You were let go from your job. Your "significant other" dumped you. Maybe something else has happened that has rocked your world, and you don't know what to do.

You need to say, "God, help."

He has thousands of years of experience helping, comforting, and saving those who reach up to Him in faith.

Have a great weekend girls!

Linda ... what a great devotional. I followed the link back to the devotional web site and really enjoyed reading more by Greg Lauie. I loved the quote he gave from Corrie ten Boom. I've read most of her books and have learned so much from her. This quote he gave is one I've never forgotten. If you've never read her writings, I highly recommend them.

Thanks for sharing that devotional.

Rita

Hello everyone
Thanks for the devo's everyone, as usual they spoke to me in a very personal way. Linda the one you posted is so true,I have learned to give over and be glad to have the our Lord on my side. Still am not sure what will come but as long as I have my family and you all here I will be fine. I know the Lord will never leave me, no matter, so whatever lesson I need he will get me through.
Welcome to all the new sisters. May each of you find what you need here.

Hi everyone!

Well, things here are settling down a bit. Mom and dad just left to go back home...they stayed here while sis was in the hospital with the baby. They are getting ready to head home too....my nephew, the 3 1/2 yo, is with his other grandparent for the weekend, then he willbe back with us Sunday night and Monday. Shew...what a week.

But, for now our house is quiet. We are eating leftovers for lunch.

Thanks,Linda for the devo. It is such a good thing to remember, especially in this day and age when materialism is so prevalent....I know we get caught up in that too at times....always wanting this or that and thinking we are self sufficient...when it all comes from God. We have many blessings and need to thank HIM for it.

Caterina, will be praying for you minister and family as they transition with the sale of the church. Where will you all meet now?

Elee..hope you are enjoying the weekend with your folks.

Wendy...any updates on the f amily at your church where the daughter was murdered? So sad....ack, I jut can't imagine.

We are getting a little snow this a.m. Later I'm going to 'pray in' a friend who is speaking at a Great Banquet retreat. Always look forward to that...they have people come and pray before each speaker, and pray during their talk, then pray aftewards. Have any of you heard of those....The Great Banquet...or Walk To Emmaus weekends? Amazing weekends if you have one close to you and can get in to go....

Anyway, soup is ready so gonna bug outta here....hugs to you all and love you bunchies.
