You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
Good evening ladies. My name is Cindy Coutts and I'll be leading our Biblically-based challenges this year. It's going to be a little bit different from what you're used to in the past and have grown to love, but change can be good. We're going to have flexibility so that you can stretch your creative wings. I believe that God gave us this gift of paper crafting to share with others to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and that's what we're going to do this year.
I chose HOPE as the name of this challenge because He Offers Peace Everyday and many Christians are losing hope because of circumstances and situations in their personal lives and in sometimes in the world. Jesus will and can restore your hope and joy in your life.
I'd like to start the challenge out every other week starting this Friday, January 8. We can take it weekly if interest dictates. There's many items we will be doing from cards to scrapbook pages to journaling, altered items and ATCs. We're going to cover it all. Of course, if you choose to journal, scrapbook, ATCs or keep it strictly cards, that's up to you. I'm just here to present to you the idea and you take it from there and share it with us and share with each other what you've done. Our focus will always be on Jesus though.
A little bit about me, I've been a Splitcoast member for 2 and a half years now and participate in a lot of their daily challenges. I also own a Christian-based paper crafting site of Christian Paper Crafts. I love the Lord and he's brought me out of a lot of self-imposed pits and spiritual free falls.
I am open to having guest hostesses when needed and possibly putting together a little design team.
Let's make this a good and fun year, but most of all, grow in our personal walk and glorify the Lord. If you have any questions, please PM me and I will see you on Friday. I pray that God richly blesses you and your family always and this week.
I would like to thank Jenn Balcer, whom we all know and love very much, for this opportunity to allow us the space to share our faith on their board.
PS: Some important information you need to know; when uploading your projects for this challenge, please use keyword HOPE2010. I'll be sure to keep a master challenge list for you as well. Don't forget to link back your work to this thread with the challenge that you did so that we can leave you some blessings!
Congrats Cindy, looking forward to participating! I'm so thankful for the hope I have in Jesus especially in such trying times. He has guarded my heart and mind and given me such peace!
Thanks Cindy for bringing the word, HOPE to the challenges this new year. I came searching the forum and am thrilled! After a season of loss, I am looking forward to spreading JOY again. See ya on Friday.
And may the Lord give you all you need to facilitate this through 2010.
Blessings,
Susan

Thanks for doing this! I'm looking forward to doing this challenge, and we will see how much I am able to do! I have much to be thankful for this year (son about to turn three and an 8 week old daughter!) and would love to be able to share through my talents! Looking forward to Friday!
I am doing this type of challenge at Patter Triple The Scraps. Hope is our first word. I wiil put my pages in this gallery.

Oh definitely and great minds think alike with Patter's word and mine being hope! That's wonderful. I think that Patter's is more of a journaling challenge and you'll be building your pages on a special rack that she is using herself. We won't be sticking with words biweekly, but more of a theme and honestly, I'll be praying about this a lot and go where the Holy Spirit leads so that we all are blessed.
Patter is just a wonderful, Godly woman that I've had the privilege to meet and work with before so you can be rest assured that what she is doing is also led by the Spirit. She has an awful lot on her plate this year with her husband being quite ill for some time and still recovering, homeschooling, her design team work, not to mention being a facilitator for Bible Study Fellowship, which is a tremendous undertaking that requires extensive planning and studying for each week's lessons. Her challenge will be at her blog as it's easier for her to pre-post when she has the time rather than at several different boards. So we all need to keep her in prayer as well because she's done just a wonderful job here throughout the years, as well as the hostess who has done the Bible Verse challenges. We have two separate challenges and won't be coordinating our work but I'm sure there will be times when the challenges can be combined.
Ask away if you have any questions or PM me at any time.
This sounds awesome! I love that you will be mixing it up as far as themes and mediums. I found Patter's challenge late last year and just was unable to get started, so this sounds great - new year, fresh start, new avenue.
I finally came to Jesus last year, and oh how the Holy Spirit has transformed me! I am soooooo looking forward to these challenges as a way to keep up my Bible studies and keep Christ at the center of all I do.

PaperAddict, I praise God for your coming to know the Lord last year. You will truly see some things in a new light as a new gift. Welcome to a very large family-full of brothers and sisters!
Thank you for offering to lead this challenge! I am signed up for a great scriptural challenge at another site, and I can't wait to do this one with you whenever possible!
I appreciate you helping me keep my cards focused on, and my eyes turned on Jesus!
This sounds wonderful and I am looking forward to participating this year. I did not do so well keeping up last year. But, I could definitely use some hope in my life right now and really always so, I am gonna do my best to keep up. Looking forward to Friday!:p
I'm an occaisional SCS stalker...so many things to do and so little time...but I would LOVELOVELOVE to participate in this when time allows. You all may identify with me - I have so many things that interest me, it is truly challenging to get them all in, and stay organized. I'm definitely organizationally challenged (you should see my craftroom! yikes!)...Still, I am a committed follower of Christ, seeking Him daily. I love the idea that our gift to create comes from the Creator Himself, so its great to be able to find ways to bless people w/ our designs.
Count me in! And thanks for your obedience to the Spirit's leading to get this going!

Hi Cindy! I can't wait to see what you have planned for us!!! By the time I discovered Patter's challenges last year, I felt like I would be starting in the middle of a project, so didn't even try. I am committed this year to start from the beginning with you and see where this leads!! I'm very excited! I am soooo looking forward to seeing everyone's projects....I know they will move my heart!! God Bless!
Good morning again ladies! It's -15 in western Kentucky and we've been without power for about 10 hours. It's never a good time to lose your power, but this was really not a good time! I honestly regret not posting this last night because frankly, my brain is frozen! I am thawing out though as I'm typing this in front of a burning fireplace and hopefully my backside won't catch fire!
At the beginning of this thread, I posted on this year's theme of HOPE, and there's a lot that we can do with this word, meaning there's going to be a lot of flexibility in what I have planned for this year.
Today is going to be very generic and I'm going to toss out some ideas to you. We are just going to use the word HOPE -- but for you, I'd like it to be used in a manner that you can immediately see or grab when you need to, i.e., a picture with the word jumping out at you (like I did), an altered item with the word HOPE, a card, a scrapbook page, it can even be a sticky note that you put on your computer monitor or an index card in your purse. Something when you're feeling no hope that you can look at and know that there's HOPE in Jesus. Another idea, one that I'll also probably start today, is making a HOPE jar where you can put Bible verses about hope in this jar and pull one out as a surprise when you need to.
What I made is based off of Isaiah 40:31: "but those who HOPE in the Lord will renew their strength."
I am attaching my picture and then I'll upload it to the gallery and link it back here. Then I will start a master thread of all of these challenges so that you're not looking through hundreds of posts trying to find what we've done. Our next "challenge" will be on Friday, January 22.
With your project, please link it back here so that we all can give you some blessings and see what you've done. Thank you so much for participating and I HOPE and pray that all of you have a very blessed day in the Lord.
PS: Don't forget to use keyword HOPE2010 when uploading your work to the gallery!
What is the typical deadline for submitting designs?
There is no deadline at all. The main goal here is to get you closer in your walk with the Lord and of course, crafting more! We have a gallery if you use the keyword in the first post of this thread and we all can check out what you've done and leave you some blessings when you post your project.
