Default Your favorite B&B and where?

Hoping this will be easier than Trip Advisor Hubby and I are planning on a short 10 day holiday in August and we usually stay in B&B`s and Inns , in places with a lot of history and charactrer so we have lots of places to visit. We have been to Charleston, Savannah, San Antonio ( stayed in the King William Historic District) and we have also been to New York two years ago.

We will be flying from Canada and renting a car, to enable us to spend more time at our designated spot.We also visited Camden Maine directly after 911 during a trip to our Maritime Provinces.Loved everything about this area, including a Queen Anne house turned into a Macdonalds which you would never find if you did not know where to look...really well done.

Love picturesque places with interersting little shops and restaurants to poke into.Anyone have any suggestions.Thank you.

Looks like no one stays in Bed and Breakfasts on vacation. How about your fav romantic place to Vacation......not counting Maui ,been there several times and prefer somewhere in the U.S. possibly on either coast ?

It's been quite a while since we've been there, but my husband and I went to Cape May, New Jersey and loved it. Lots of beautiful, fantastically ornate Victorian homes and neat shops. We stayed at the Queen Victoria which was very highly rated but I know the owners retired and someone else runs it now.

Based on the other places you've been to and enjoyed I think it would be worth your while to look into!

@antiquestamper I was just going to suggest Cape May. I love in Cape May and there are amazing Bed and Breakfast in town. It's a wonderful place to visit with great places to stay, fantastic food and cute shoppes. You can also take a Ferry trip over to Delaware, either by car or as a foot passenger and catch the shuttle to town. If the casino's are your thing Atlantic City is about 40 minutes away.

Thank you for your responces, I have heard of Cape May. I shall have to check into this further and see if Hurricane Sandy had any impact on this area. I will post once we decide on a place. Thanks again.

As I live in Cape May, I can tell you that Cape May was not impacted by Hurricane Sandy. It moved slightly off shore and did very little damage to our town. Town was up an running as far as the beaches, shops, Bed and Breakfasts and hotels. As our city is open all year unlike most of the other tourist towns on the east coast, we were quick to clean up what little damage there was. I was one of about a dozen people that refused to evacuate the town and road out the storm. I live 3 blocks from the beach and 3 blocks from the shoppes and most of the hotels, etc. All is fantastic here.
