I got home around noon. DH took me and friend met us there and brought me home. Wish they would have pushed my bed in a corner and let me sleep a while since I didn't sleep well last night. I will probably sleep some this afternoon. Feel pretty good. Slight headache but I had that going in...
I hope the injection is going to work Kathy.
Lynn, I hope you are in a minimum of pain today. Actually, none would be good, but I understnd that doesn't happen too often. It's been drizzling in Austin all day today ...........37 degrees. So what's a girl to do but spend money?! I hit the dollar store, Target, Michaels, and Hobby Lobby. I bought 6 different pieces of fabric to make baked potato sacks. Washing the fabric now and hope to get started on some sacks this evening. We also need to finish decorating our Christmas stockings with the gems I bought at H.L.
I slept like Kathy...got up...took Kerra out...took a shower...fell asleep...oh well...grumpy and I did groceries...I was worried about the new indoor ramp...grumpy says I will have a hard time with it...made club sandwiches..went to grumpy...he walked Kerra and I took him to work...helping me threw his timetable off
so you guys have to keep me on target tonight! I have a different desk...which gives me room for a cube between desks...I am gonna set that up as my big shot station...then no lugging it out...I forget who mentioned it but thank you...-4c out today with a windchill of -10c...so the little bit of snow on the ground is staying. my boots are good but my socks are now black...oh well..at least I stayed upright!
the big shot is on top
in the open part I have my create a sticker and the multi platform
in the drawer I have my sizzix plates
when I see my friend I will get the extra set of cutting plates and put them in the open space. I now have an empty bin under the desk
Lynn, you wondered about the baked potato sacks. They are pouches that hold 2-3 medium sized baking potatoes (you can put in just one, if you want) I bought a couple at a craft sale and jut love the results....better than baking in the oven. You cut two pieces of 100% cotton 9X20 inches. Cut the same size special pellon for the middle, sew all together with 100% cotton thread and make a pouch out of it. Wash your potato, do not dry, but wrap it in a paper towel and put it in the sack. Cook in the microwave for 2 minutes, feel if the potato is soft or not and then put it back in for 1 minute intervals until soft. Makes a wonderful baked potato, ro sweet potato. I haven't tried it on anything else yet.
I am making one for all my relatives for Christmas.
I was going to say I will attempt it but my sewing machine is on the blink
I just brought out the plastic wrap from around the pellon. It's 100% natural cotton batting. The pack I bught states it is especially for microwave cooking, but I'll bet any 100 % cotton batting will do. I am using a sewing machine at my son's house, which as it turns out, used to belong to my mother. When we cleared out my mom's house after she was placed in a nursing home, my son asked me who was taking the sewing machine. Since all the siblings already had sewing machines, we gave it to him and he took it back to Texas with him on the plane. Funny thing..... his ex wife claims it is hers, given to her by her mother, but the shipping information is still on the case, which plainly states his name, address, and destination. Ah, well, I am just glad it is here, as I can sew a little gift for my friends from back home who live here in Austin too. Going there for dinner tonight, to deliver a whole suitcase of gifts from his parents.
Otherwise, the sun is shining here and it is 30 degrees.
Quiet here today. I am wondering if it has to do with the malicious warnings people are getting? I use IE and have had no trouble, but users of Firefox and Chrome have been having issues getting in. Lynn is having issues and couldn't get in. Just thought I would let you know I'm here and missing you all.
I am checking I'm from Chilliwack BC. it is a beautiful day. The sky is clear the mountains are showing and my training is done. I leave for Edmonton tomorrow and freezing weather. Not a lot of fun when it is so cold but I don't care I will inside with my son his DW and MY GRANDKIDS. YEAH.
Dea, enjoy those grandkids. I know I am enjoying mine, but today is the last day. Tomorrow first thing in the a.m. I head home. But first, this evening we go to the park and walk the trails lit by luminaries. Just beautiful! .And the 7 year old gets to have his photo taken with Santa. Keep safe everyone!
CAT is yelling at me....I am up...it is like the desert for dryness in the apartment...Happy to say it is Friday the 13th so I can get lottery tickets....usually I win my money back...never more than that....hoping my scottish shortbread arrives today...we have snow for the weekend so I don't know if grumpy, girlfriend, and I will be going out. Friend pushed me out the door for Chinese and then some shopping at Walmart. I just have no energy but I prayed for the push and God is good. And every shopper I crossed paths with seemed to be very cheerful and courteous! I was all smiles through the rush of people and they all seemed to be smiling too! I really enjoyed it! Now I am home with back ache and headache so maybe a nap is in order. DH comes home tomorrow. He takes a lot of vacation time to hunt and by the time hunting season is over I am ready for him to be home!
