Default Uses for Dryer Sheets

I got this in an email today and thought I'd pass it on. I have not tried ANY of these so I don't know if they work or not. I would be interested to know if any of you have and if they do work!
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The US Postal service sent out a message to all letter carriers to put a sheet of Bounce in their uniform pockets to keep yellow jackets away. Use them all the time when playing baseball and soccer. I use it when I am working outside. It really works. The yellow jackets just veer around you.

And all this time you've just been putting Bounce in the dryer!

It will chase ants away when you lay a sheet near them.

It also repels mice… spread them around foundation areas, or in trailers, cars that are sitting and it keeps mice from entering your vehicle!

It takes the odor out of books and photo albums that don't get opened too often.

Repels mosquitoes. Tie a sheet of Bounce through a belt loop when outdoors during mosquito season.

Eliminates static electricity from your television (or computer) screen. Since Bounce is designed to help eliminate static cling, wipe your television screen with a used sheet of Bounce to keep dust from resettling.

Dissolve soap scum from shower doors. Clean with a sheet of Bounce.

Freshen the air in your home. Place an individual sheet of Bounce in a drawer or hang in the closet.

Put Bounce sheet in vacuum cleaner.

Prevent thread from tangling. Run a threaded needle through sheet of Bounce before beginning to sew.

Prevent musty suitcases. Place an individual sheet of Bounce inside empty luggage before storing.

Freshen the air in your car. Place a sheet of Bounce under the front seat.

Clean baked-on foods from a cooking pan. Put a sheet in a pan, fill with water, let sit overnight, and sponge clean. The anti-static agent apparently weakens the bond between the food and pan.

Eliminate odors in wastebaskets. Place a sheet of Bounce at the bottom of the wastebasket.

Collect cat hair. Rubbing the area with a sheet of Bounce will magnetically attract all the loose hairs.

Eliminate static electricity from Venetian blinds. Wipe the blinds with a sheet of Bounce to prevent dust from resettling.

Wipe up sawdust from drilling or sand papering. A used sheet of Bounce will collect
sawdust like a tack cloth.

Eliminate odors in dirty laundry. Place an individual sheet of Bounce at the bottom of a laundry bag or hamper.

Deodorize shoes or sneakers. Place a sheet of Bounce in your shoes or sneakers overnight.

Golfers put a Bounce sheet in their back pocket to keep the bees away.

Put a Bounce sheet in your sleeping bag and tent before folding and storing them. Keeps them smelling fresh.

And now that you know, print and keep on file or pass it around!

Wow! That's awesome!! Living near the marsh in South Carolina, you can imagine the mosquitos are aboiut the size of humming birds! (Well, maybe not THAT big!). Gotta try that!! Also for the cat hair that has TAKEN OVER MY HOUSE!!!!!
Thanks!

You can also use your Bounce dryer sheets on cards...I just posted a sample in my gallery (CASE'ed from my upline) to show what it looks like.

You know, you can brayer ink on a bounce sheet and it looks a lot like mulberry paper - and it's a perfect match to your color scheme!

I don't have a brayer (yet anyway ) so what I did was put a few drops of a re-inker color in a baggie, sprayed some water in it, wet my dryer sheet a bit and then put it into the baggie. I smashed it around in the baggie a bit (the more you do it, the more it will color it) and then took it out to dry. It makes an interesting background to be used on a card. As someone else said, kinda like mulberry paper.

I love the idea of a mulberry paper look-alike, I'll have to try this too! How clever! Thanks.

Default Uses for dryer sheets

Somebody at the SU! convention spoke about using them to clean up something. I'm pretty sure it was Pearl Ex powder.
I'm going to try it. That stuff is so messy!

Default Dryer Sheets

WOW!
Thanks for the info!
I can't keep the ants out of my hummingbird feeder. They keep climbing the pole. I have even sprayed ant spray near the bottom of the pole. After about a day they come back. I'll have to wrap the pole with bounce sheets. I wonder, will other dryer sheets work as well. I have other brands. I'll have to try and see.

Just FYI - I took a walk out by the marsh last night with a Bounce dryer sheet tucked in my belt loop - no mosquitos!! And later after it was dark I went outside to count my toads (Yeah, I'm a freak about toads!) and I didn't have to spray my body with DEET or anything - the Bounce actually kept them away!! Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!

Gretchen! It's so great to know that it works with mosquitoes!! I have a bunch, too. Thanks for testing!!!!! I usually use liquid fabric softener but now I think I'm gonna have to switch!

Actually, it was a SWIFFER sheet they were using. I just wanted to make sure you knew so you didn't ruin a card by rubbing fabric softener on it

Also, all those ideas above REALLY DO WORK! I've tried a couple of them because I couldn't believe it, but it's true, it's true!

Okay, I have a question and it’s probably a stupid one. I know you would use "recycled" dryer sheets for rubber-stamping techniques; however, wouldn’t it make a difference if you were to use recycled v new for some of the uses on the "big list (first post)?

Tonya,
My impression was that un-used dryer sheets were used for what was on the big list.
