I watched that one with my DH - remember how impressed I was - The African Queen! Nothing like those good old movies - no explosions, murdering and nasty language!

Greenie!! You are correct!!!

Humphrey Bogart won his only Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the movie 'The African Queen' in which he played Charlie Allnut in 1951. Bogart considered his performance to be the best of his film career.

Good for you, Greenie!! This makes a two-fer for you today!!!

Grey's Anatomy is an American medical drama television series created by Shonda Rhimes. The series premiered on March 27, 2005 on ABC; since then, eight seasons have aired. The series follows the lives of interns, residents and their mentors in the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital in Seattle, Washington, as they struggle to complete their medical training and maintain personal lives. Despite being set in Seattle, the show is primarily filmed in Los Angeles, California.

The scenes on Grey's from the Helicopter pad and with the Space Needle up close behind them are from the Komo Channel Four Fisher Plaza, and their news helicopter's helipad. My daughter was offered a job over there when she was 18. I'm glad she went further North. Just more trivia.

Spencer IS tough. If he has been doing well doing things around here on a daily basis and is getting strength and mobility back - then when we see the doc at the end of this month I am sure she won't make him do therapy.
He actually enjoys running, and his PE teacher is having him do that. He starts soccer practice this month too. His coach said (with an evil gleam in his eye) that he will be working Spencer extra hard to get him back in shape.

I thank you all so much for praying for him!

That's the kind of trivia we like, when it's about people and places we know.

Wendy!!!! You are correct!! (It's OK to use Google. I just put out the questions, and you find the answers any way you can.)

Jack Leon Ruby was convicted of the November 24, 1963 murder of Lee Harvey Oswald, the accused assassin of President John F. Kennedy. Ruby, who was originally from Chicago, Illinois, was then a nightclub operator in Dallas, Texas. Convicted of the murder on March 14, 1964, Ruby appealed the conviction and death sentence. As a date for his new trial was being set, he became ill and died of lung cancer on January 3, 1967.

BTW, some of the questions are on my mother's oatmeal packages, but some are ones I make up, some come from trivia sites, and sometimes, I look up the date and find out if something significant happened on the same date in an earlier year. I also check the news and then look back for any historic significance. There's trivia EVERYWHERE!!

CA: I believe you are correct! It was Shirley and Pat.

Our bus driver would be our true historian. But, I think it was Miss Helen; Deb Wood aka Wooddeboraha; Debzi333; and then me.

I was trying to remember all our friends from the past. In no particular order I remember: Peggy aka Marilynprestonn; Sue aka CoffeeStamper; Darla Ryan; Flowergal36 aka Dawn; Judy Kell; Grace N aka Scrappigramma2; and Lovely Linda.

There were more that hopped aboard off and on too. I was enjoying trying to remember TSC friends from the past...

Brat I am so glad Spencer is doing good. He is in my prayers. We want happy healthy children.

CA I like the Trivia questions. I am just usually not on line the time of day you post and Greenie beats me to them!! I remember Jack Ruby being shot. We were watching it on TV when it happened live. That is a time in our history that will always have an impact on my heart. That picture of John saluting his Dad. I was the teachers pet in my class and they had a bell system. So it rang and she sent me to the office to pick up something. They handed me a sealed envelope and when the teacher opened it she told us to put all of our books away and she turned on the TV. My Mom collected newspapers from all over the world and every magazine imaginable for my little brother. It all burned in a fire a few years ago. But what a sad time for our nation that was. Actually I think it was Brat who brought up the question about Jack Ruby.

Off to do a little house work so when my husband comes home it's all nice for him.

Hi Sylvia,

It was CA's question. She is our trivia gal. I just was feeling nostalgic regarding SCS and TSC this AM...

Thanks for the well wishes and prayers for Spencer!

You sure have a good memory. I was only learning to walk back then.

Hugs to All the Sistahs!

I haven't seen Miss Helen in quite a while. Didn't Deb Wood change her screen name to something like Purdy Bratty Barbie or something like that? I see Debz around occasionally. I don't see Peggy that often anymore. Perk and I email back and forth from time to time. Darla comments now and then. Dawn is still around I think. Judy doesn't even get online that much anymore, but I've seen her a couple of times in person when I met Pat and the others in Grass Valley, CA. Grace is too involved with ODBD to have time to jump on the bus anymore. I think Linda had some family issues there for a bit or maybe it was health issues, but I think she's on a DT somewhere, but I don't remember where. Your Cult Mama is in the middle of moving right now and still has some issues with her hands. Greenie knows more about the current stuff with some of these gals. She actually talks to people on the phone! LOL!

Deb had changed her name and she has again. It is: Wooddeboraha. I have had Miss Helen, Deb W, and Debzi333 drop in and leave comments recently, but I haven't seen anything new posted. Miss Helen does occasionally. Come to think of it, it's time I go check her gallery again.

Dawn currently has an adorable card in the gallery. Grace makes the most beautiful creations like Pat. Pat's hands are hurting pretty bad right now. I love it when I see Darla or Dawn or any of the gals in the galleries.

I talked with Peggy yesterday. She wasn't even looking for a job, but she starts one next Monday. They needed someone who is bilingual and fabulous! She has her blog, Party Time Tuesday commitments, and grand babies (incredibly cute), and friends and LIFE!

We all know about Perk (coffeestamper) and have had her son in our prayers.

Life moves on and sometimes we see more or less of each other in seasons of life. There are quite a few of the Sistahs past and present that have fibromyalgia and/or chronic pain. I keep them in my prayers nightly along with my oldest daughter and another sistah's daughter. It is wonderful to see the blessings in their lives that pull them away as well: Grandchildren, kids, DT's, jobs etc.

I have a terrible memory and I'm not very good at keeping in touch, so I was enjoying remembering them all.

There was also Deena Perrault (?), from Canada and Maureen Vollaro from Long Island. I keep in touch with Mo on FB....also with Lovely Linda. She is very busy with Spellbinders and teaching/hosting lots of classes. She has had eye surgery (in both eyes) and has been doing real well. Her hubby takes the most beautiful pictures and posts them on FB. He is quite the photographer! I know Christina was off and on throughout the years on da bus. I do see Darla and Dawn periodically in the gallery, same with Peggy. I see Peggy on FB also along with Deb Wood. Deb and I play Words with Friends a lot. Dawn B and Grace N get together sometimes....I think they live fairly close to each other....Like Greenie and I. I haven't seen Judy Kell for quite a while. When did Tater join? Are we missing anyone?????

I am banging my head for not putting Deena, Christina and Maureen Vollaro on the list. I remember them being here of course! I am sure there have been people who visited a lot but did not consider themselves Sistahs too.

Deena has her own etsy shop AND she sells her own images. Squigglefly sells them as well. Deena and Peggy get to play together and I so wish I could too!

I miss Deb W. I still pray for her every night - please tell her hi. I am glad to hear Linda is doing well too. I don't do Facebook so I don't see the things you all do.

I have Tater grouped into our current people in my mind. I can't remember when she joined.

Well, Jill, you joined us a while back. LOL! It's not a membership, but just jumping on the bus and coming back several times makes you one of us, I guess!! At least I hope you feel at home here!!!

Oh, I do feel at home here...
but I always felt like a party crasher ( I am, LOL)

Actually, I found out about your thread a while back when Pat sent me a PM and told me about the Twisted sister Card Challenge, and invited me to join that....Does that count?

At the moment I am procrastinating ( I am good at that) I need to take everything out of my craft room and pack it up. I am so dreading doing that...I don't know what to do with everything. Yes, I have a lot of stuff! It's not all stamping stuff. I also have fabric, yarn, cross-stitch supplies, craft books, etc. I have a hard time letting go.

Yep, that counts!! If Pat invited you here, I think you're one of us right away! Or, at least once you've done a TSC!!! You've done that too!!

I hear ya! LOL! I'm running out of nooks and crannies in my craft room. I just got 4 or 5 MS punches and had a hard time putting them with the rest of my punches. I don't have room for towel bars all over the place, and my over-the-door shoe bags are pretty full. What's a gal to do??? Why do you have to pack up the craft room?

After putting it off for a while...we are finally fixing several of the rooms in our house where the ceiling is water damanged from a leaky roof. we've also been living for a very long time with sub floors in our house. So one room at a time we have a contractor come in fix the ceiling, after they are done plastering, we then paint, and then when the painting is done, come back and install a new floor in the room. In order to fix a ceiling and install a new floor....you have to take everything out of the room. We're on room number 4 coming up, and I feel like I am moving for the fourth time. Hubby and I have not moved for many years, so we didn't realize how much stuff we have gathered up in that time....till we had to take everything out of the rooms...(and yes, we have gotten rid of a lot of stuff too) The hardest room for me to get rid of stuff is my craft room. I don't want to let things go, smile...but I have donated several boxes to a couple of organizations...but I still need to get rid of stuff.

Well I started coming on the bus because of Pat and Brat. They both invited me to do a challenge. I've been here since which is about a year now. I felt at home right away because you Sistahs are so welcoming and it's God's love shining through! So Jill we are in the same boat and I don't feel like a party crasher. We love to have you coming on da bus. I feel like I have made real friendships here. Even if we are in cyber space.

I joined SCS several years before I got involved. I just didn't have time. I was on the computer all day at work and I sure didn't want to come home and be on it! I had a very stressful job for years and it just drained me the last few years I worked. So glad to be away from that. That's when I began to get a little involved here. I started out mostly on the recipe swaps making 6x6 cards. I did that until I had recipe cards coming out the wazoo! I quit that. I do like to do tag swaps at Christmas. I didn't do that this last year. I don't have time for swaps and cards too and I much prefer cards.

I hear ya! I had to take everything out of my craft room to get new flooring in there. I think I might still have a box of something in my bedroom that should go in there. I have gotten rid of lots of stuff, but there's still things I need to find new homes for. I hate to give up certain things, too! I might NEED it sooner or later! LOL!
