Oh, Wendy, bless your heart!! First of all, we do read all that stuff!! LOL! You ought see some of the novels that our wonderful Greenie writes!!! It was so kind of you to give the penguin cake to your son's English class. I'm sure they were thrilled! When you go to work, just tell them "I didn't get the memo!" and went to the first bowling alley where the owner didn't even know it had been cancelled. No worries. I was in mid-level management years ago at a multi-national corporation. One morning, I was putting on my shoes in a hurry. I was wearing a red blouse with a white skirt (it was summer). When I got to work, I could see in the big mirror doors that I had on one white shoe and one red shoe. How humiliating! People kept stopping by my office just to see!! At lunch, I went to a mall in La Jolla (San Diego area) where I bought a new pair of pumps. After that day, no one ever mentioned it again, at least not to me!! LOL!

You poor thing - what a horrible mixup, but you would have thought the guy at the old bowling alley would have realized that the party was changed to the new location! Surprised someone did not call your cell to verify where they were - and after all the trouble to make the cute cake too!! Well,, glad you got the time with your son and HE got the cake for making his Mom feel better! You raised a good boy!!
As for the ones at work, for not making sure you knew - shame on them!!
You can vent here anytime - we are on prayer duty round the clock practically! !between our early risers and our late night owls!! LOL

Oh Wendy you had a run of bad luck. You know you probably did or said something to someone at the bowling alley that helped them. God probably used you in a way you didn't even know. I worked for one of the biggest corporations in the country and at a dinner they had for us some of us won things. So the team I was on got T-shirts. We could wear jeans on Fridays. So I wore my T-Shirt...backwards! They never let me forget it! I'm glad you got to spend time with your son. What kind of work do you do? I quit working in 2007. I have some serious back problems and just couldn't sit all day long at my desk. I wasn't sure how I would like not working and now I wonder how I ever fit it into my schedule! It's nice to see you on da bus. Come back.
How is everyone tonight? Me I have been hurting so I haven't done too much today. I did cook our dinner and clean up the kitchen. I'm thinking about going to my local scrapbooking store tomorrow. I need nothing but will probably get a new SB die. I am so addicted to those. I do need to go pick up some whipping cream for TG day.
Lesley did you find the tutorial I was talking about?
Oh CA that fire in Reno is bad. Have they gotten it out or in control? The news said we may have snow flurries this coming Saturday. I'm not looking forward to the cold winter.
Silly, Yes I found the tutorial! Thanks so much for helping a sistah out!!! You are a doll!!!!!!
CA...I can just imagine you with one red shoe and one white shoe!! You were just expressing yourself, right? Heehee!
Wendy..So glad you came along for a ride....you poor baby...what a night you had!!!
I have some eyebrows left, but I usually use a brow pencil to 'fill in the gaps', if you know what I mean. I usually come to work around 8:00 and it wasn't until 10:30 that one of my co-workers took me by the hand and led me to the bathroom and told me to look at myself in the mirror. Well......it appears that on that particular day I must have been in a hurry cause instead of my brown brow pencil, I had grabbed my RED lipstick liner. MY EYEBROWS were RED!!!!! So was my face after that! They all hooted and hollered! I have never lived that one down!
Greenie...love you, GF!!! You are rock solid on this bus and always have an encouraging word, or two, or three, or four, or ............... I'm so grateful for you!!!!
TATER...so glad to hear you are doing better. Miss your cards, GF! Praying for you and Gunner!

Silly, the fire is out, but there are still hot spots which they are watching. I think 32 homes were lost. That's 32 families displaced from their homes who lost everything. It's so sad. There's a young girl who lost her home in 2005 that is running a toy drive for the families who lost homes and have children that lost all their toys. They won't have to wait until Christmas to get something to play with. You've got to give that girl credit!
There was so much news coverage about that fire all weekend that my mother got up and walked around looking for a window to look out of to see the fire. The fire was 50 miles away from us, but she didn't understand. I had to switch channels to get her mind off of it. She's been very confused lately. She still is OK sometimes though. She wants to send gift cards to soldiers and asked if we had anyone in our family who is in the military. My great-nephew is in Afghanistan. I will make a card that can hold a gift card, we will buy a WalMart card to put in it, and send it too him by the end of the week.
We've had a little snow, but none that sticks really. The roof tops have been white, but it melted by noon. I'm hoping for more snow, but not at Christmas because my daughter and her family will be coming over the pass from California to visit us for a couple of days.
Hope you have a wonderful day! Happy Tuesday everyone!!!
Bwahahahahahahaha! My dog is staring at me wondering why I am laughing when nobody else is here! Giggle, giggle!
Lesley - YOU ROCK! Thank you for that story!
CA! I would have told everyone I was starting a new fashion and what was the matter with them! Matching shoes are SO last year!
Lesley - I am STILL laughing! I guess if you were working at the hospital back then you could have told them "LOOK! They really MEAN it when they tell you not to go into the quarantined area!" or "These are my ANGRY eyebrows!" ahahahahahaha! This needs to be in a movie!
I forgot my slip once and found out when I went to walk to get lunch! Oh yeah! I had one of the therapists pick up my lunch that day! Then there was the day I was watering my garden before work and got there and realized I still had my flip flops on. I hid out in my office that day. You can't wear flip flops to a medical facility!
Then, there was the time (high-school) I went to the drive-in movies with my boyfriend. Of course, I knew all his family. It did not help that three of his sisters plus a BIL, and GOD knows who else, turned out to be in the car next to us (a friend's car we did not recognize). Let's just say that for YEARS they kept telling me how much they liked my boots! NO! I do NOT remember what movie it was!
I can't think of anything as funny as Lesley's story right now!
I LOVE YOU PUNK!

Ok, there was this time in high school science class when the teacher asked us to give some details about an octopus. I think he was looking for the fact that they have more than one heart. I raised my hand and said they had eight testicles!! That got a laugh and it took a while to live THAT down!! LOL!

Lesley, you are such a good sport. I will be giggling for a long time over that. I only hope I can remember something that funny to tell you. I am sure my family can make fun of me with some stories on Thursday, but I don't know if they will be that good!

So glad the fires were contained at Reno, and God bless that girl who is trying to help the families affected by giving back, since she was helped in 2005!! Bless her heart!
Well, Wendy, reading your story and then CA's, after your shoe story, we got to hear a few more from Punk over her eyebrows, and from Sylvia, wearing her t-shirt backwards, and then Brat, wearing her flip flops to work - what a blessing it is to be able to laugh at ourselves when we do something silly - it makes others smile and we can smile with them!! I can't tell you how many times, I have 'heard' something TOTALLY wrong, and answered something entirely unrelated, and have given people the laugh of the day - I just figure I am here on earth to give other people laughs when I do something like that, and because of that, I can laugh at myself too!! God is definitely pleased to see us laughing and happy!! Praise Him for that!
OK, got to get back to work here - got enough funnies stories to keep me smiling for the rest of the day!!
Love you all - Mmmmmmmwwaaahhhhhh!

Thank you all so much , now I do feel better and know I CAn go back to work without a bag over my head...lol...and know just to laugh things out and keep on going...:0)..
Your mix-matched shoes reminds me of my daughter when she first started doing her laundry on her own, as a older teen adn then she started wearing on purpose mixmatched sock, instead of putting them together she would just grab 2...lol...some of the combos....lol, and love the angry eyebrows....lol...cute one...your all right god gave us humour to make things better, especially in a stressfull sad worldI better go get some things done just wonated to come on quick and say a HUGE ty to you all for making one feel so much better...:0)
I just wanted to share a super nice update....my boss called me this afternoon and apologized profusely and everyone felt so bad....they all pitched in a bought me a ticket for our door prize too, and I won one....I have a sneaky suspicion they might have been up to something but still so nice of them. That is one reason I still work there I dont make hardly more then min. wage, as no-one in retail does, but the people there are so nice, take care all better run again...just had to share the neat news...:0)
Oh my I can't believe the eyebrows and the testicles!!!! You ladies are a hoot. I needed a good laugh!
Wendy that is so sweet of your co-workers to buy you a ticket. How nice. I bet your boss did feel bad.
Kathy thank you. You are a sweetie.
CA that is so nice of the lady getting toys for the children. There are a lot of good people out there. Hey I think you should loan Punk your red shoe to match her eyebrows!!!!!
I guess I must have said SB die? Spell Binder. I do have way too many of them. I got the new poinsettia die. It makes such beautiful flowers. I'm sure you have seen some of Kitties in the gallery. She's one of those people that can make beautiful flowers what ever she uses.
My card I uploaded for the teaparty is all out of focus. I couldn't tell it until it was uploaded and I didn't check it so I didn't know for awhile. That stinks.
Brat you and your flip flops sound like something I would do.
Shirt, Pat and Tater hope all is well. Jan its good to see you on here.
Oh, Wendy! It's great to hear all is well and you work with some nice people!! We all had a lot of laughs here because of what you started!! LOL! Thanks for being here!!
OK, my sistahs, here they are!!! The tote is plenty big enough to carry all my stuff plus one of my mom's tape-on diapers without anyone seeing it, and the wallet has plenty of spaces for credit cards, money, change, etc. I really spoiled myself with this one! I never dreamed I'd spend so much on a purse or wallet even on sale!!
I just don't know if I should change over now or wait until Christmas!
CA that is really pretty. I always lean towards black for purses for winter. That is so classy looking. Wow these things are expensive but will last forever. My husband about fainted when I paid 100.00 for the purse I am using right now! I like Kathy VanZeland purses. I have several.
If I don't make it back on here today everyone have a Blessed Thanksgiving. I know I am thankful for all of my SCS friends. I am thankful to have a group of friends who pray for me. Love you all.
