Thank you Greenie! It is encouraging. God does answer prayers!! Thanks for continued prayer. Please know that you are in my prayers, too, regarding your surgery and recovery. Lymi
CA I meant to comment last night about DeAnna but it is wonderful news. Yes prayer works!
I have been making cards for the HYCCT challenges and I have two to go to be caught up! Hoping to go downstairs and do one more tonight. It's such a good cause.
Boy this bus is quiet. Everyone must be afraid of getting this new bus dirty cause nobody's on!
Just checking off here girls. I am going to be gone this week.
I am worn slick. I have washed my blinds, windows and curtains in my living and dining room today. The lady who cleans my house has been here today and I had already done a lot of extras. Well off to go get my dinner started. Talk to you all in a few days. Jerry will be here holding down the fort.

Aww, Greenie, but they called ME to set up surgery. Mine is in one week and yours is a week later. Don't be practicing walking on one foot! They will have you walking on both feet ASAP!!! You'll be in PT way ahead of me though!!
Hi-De-Ho, gals!!! Does anyone know what the challenge is for this Friday???
CA, what is the latest on DeAnna?
Silly, I will miss you this week! Have fun!!!
Greenie, I'm thinking of you, gal!
ChangelingGirl, you are welcomed to join in anytime!
Huge hugs to all the rest of you!
My sister Liz is up from Florida and will be staying with me Wed-Saturday. Friday night, I'm having all of my girl first cousins on my dad's side to the house. We try to get together at least once a year. So, I'm giving my home a good cleaning and getting all of my fall decorations up. Does anyone else decorate for the seasons? It's a lot of work!!! But, I love the fall decorations (besides the Christmas ones) the best...they are so colorful and makes my home so warm looking.
Ok, off I go......I'll be back on later to check out the challenge!

OH MY GOODNESS!! BAD Greenie!!
SO much has been going on around here, I forgot to give the TSC1012 challenge for this Friday - so sorry, Sistahs!! Thanks, Lesley, for keeping me straight - I'm surprised that our Bus Driver did not come after me with a LATE TICKET!!
How about we do a PYRAMID CARD !!! I am adding a link to StampOwl's Studio because it is the simplest directions (SCS has a tutorial but it will SKEER you!!)
Here it is!! - StampOwl's Studio: Tutorial
After the link opens, just go down to the Feb. 17, 2008 entry - it is REALLY EASY, so don't be SKEERED, Sistahs!!
You can do it for any occasion , (but I need to do some more Christmas cards so mine will be for Christmas), and you can do it in any colors you want!!
Thanks for being so patient with me (God isn't finished with me yet!!)
LYMI

Hey, Punk, thanks for asking. As it turns out, I went for my pre-op testing, etc. today and am scheduled for surgery next Monday - DeAnna went to San Francisco today for HER pre-op stuff and thinks HER surgery will be on Monday as well! She will have her double mastectomy, but I don't know if they do reconstruction at the same time. I would think she'd have to go back for that. I'll find out about that tomorrow. What a day!!!

Oh, we are really going to be busy praying next Monday, CA - how did your testing go today - everything good? do they do that with a local or put you out? you are coming home the same day??

I saw the doctor's assistant first. Then, I went over to the hospital and paid my share of cost. They gave me a card to get 2 free meals, so my mom and I went to the cafeteria and had lunch. After that, I went to the lab and had blood drawn, to diagnostics for a chest x-ray, and to cardiology for an EKG. Finally, I went to the surgical center where a nurse explained how it will go when I get there next Monday. Apparently, I passed my tests because they're still planning on my surgery for Monday. I'm getting both local AND going sleepy bye. They are going to do a "block" which will numb my left arm for about 24 hours plus they still want me to take pain meds even though I won't be able to feel anything till the next day. Yes, I will be going home the same day. They said to take a good shower the morning of surgery because I won't be able to shower for a few days. I have to try to keep my arm elevated above my heart for a long time! They said that eventually, I'll be able to take a bath but keep my arm up on the side of the tub. Yikes!
I have to have mastectomy and three months later have reconstruction. One Dr said HER2 tumors almost always get chemo. That was crushing!! I have to wait for pathology after surgery. Oh well. I'll live. I have to call in the AM for a date.
They were there, at U.C. San Francisco, all day. They didn't leave until after 7 p.m.! They were starving and stopped to eat. She sent this message from her I-Phone. I'm still praying that she won't have to have the chemo!

Still praying for everything to work out for the best for her - its a lot to hear, but we will pray for the doctors as well, to be making the right decisions on everything! Hang in there - she sure has a good attitude!!

Girls sounds like lots going on here. I came on home today because I needed to be in my own bed. This was a pretty spur of the moment trip and the doc said it was fine but it was too much driving. Too much sitting then being in a strange bed wasn't the best. I enjoyed myself but I am glad to be home.
Oh Bus Driver congrats on QFTD!!!
Well CA glad everything is ok and your surgery is on go. Same for DeAnna. The Lord will help both of you through this.
Well, J.G. left today. It was hard to say good-bye. That boy has been through so much while he was here with me. I guess I will be ready for another one when I recover from the surgery. I wish I could go visit DeAnna, but I won't be driving much for a while. We're both in His hands. Bowling is tomorrow for Special Olympics. I will only have Eddie. It will be OK though. I will still coach the "skills" athletes, but there will be one less, J.G. Sunday, after church, a friend is coming over to help me with cards for my stamp-a-stack next Friday. I have to get everything ready before my surgery on Monday. Thanks to you all for all your prayers. Love to all!!
Well I won't be posting any cards. I left my camera at my cousin's!!! I went through the bedroom, bathroom and her living room to double check but I left it in her van. It should be here Monday. Uggg I can't believe I did that.

Aww, sorry, Sylvia, that's a bummer leaving your camera behind!!
CA, sorry to hear JG left today, hope everything works out okay for him - am keeping you and DeAnna in my prayers for your surgeries on Monday - let us know as soon as you are able how it all goes!!
An update on my trip to meet Mrs Eula Cousins on Thursday - the visit with her was really great - you would never know this woman is 110 !! It is amazing that she is still as sharp as a tack - adding a picture here - I think Cindy is going to put a post up soon at the teaparty too!

Oh, Greenie!! How wonderful that you got to visit with Eula!!! She doesn't look 110 in that picture!! Hey, you are at the top of the prayer list about your surgery next Monday!!!
Silly, sorry about your camera! Sounds like something I'd do though!!!

Oh, CA, praying you up for tomorrow's surgery, and special prayers for DeAnna's surgeon's hands to clear out all the cancer cells so she has a good healthy recovery! I know He will be with you both in your surgeries and do well afterwards! I am glad you are thinking to prepare for your stamp a stack today, because I am doing the same thing, getting ready for my next month's club this week !! I know it had to be hard for you to say goodbye to JG, but praying God will help him and his family in their needs!
Thanks for your prayers too - it is keeping the butterflies in my stomach at bay, knowing all the prayers backing me up! It is hard for me to imagine I have to slow down, and of all things, not to be able to drive for about 6 weeks!

CA, You will be in my prayers for a successful surgery and easy recovery. I will keep DeAnna in my prayers for a good outcome.
Greenie, I've been lighting candles for you to have a successful surgery and recovery - and also to keep your sanity during recovery. I know you are constantly on the go - so this will crimp your style - but you need to be a good girl!!
Sylvia, I am so happy you continue to do so well - but still keep you in my prayers.
Lesley, hope all is going well for you!
Shirt, our newest queen and wearing her crown proudly - is always on my prayer list, as well as Ms. Pat!
All the other ladies that visit, Jan, Wendy - you are in my prayers as well.
IN FACT - AT MASS, I LIGHT ALL THE CANDLES NOW (I ARRIVE EARLY) AND SAY MY PRAYERS FOR EVERYONE ON MY LIST! I ARRIVE EARLY - BECAUSE THERE ARE THOSE THAT ALSO WANT TO LIGHT CANDLES, SO FATHER HAS TO ALWAYS ASK IF MY PRAYERS ARE DONE - SO THAT SOMEONE ELSE MIGHT HAVE A CANDLE OR TWO! AS I ARRIVE EARLY, MY PRAYERS ARE ALWAYS COMPLETE FOR THOSE ON MY LIST, BUT I ALWAYS TELL HIM HE NEEDS A LARGER CANDLE/PRAYER AREA. HE JUST SMILES AND PATS MY SHOULDER!!

Oh, Greenie! Thank you so much for the prayers! DeAnna is not sure when her surgery will be yet. Maybe next week. There has to be two surgeons, but one is away and then the other is away. When they're both there, they can do the surgery.
JG has a bed and bedding, plenty of clothes, a warm winter coat, a Halloween costume, one surgery behind him, and two parents who jumped through hoops to get him back, so I know he's in God's hands now. We will get to see him at the bowling tournament in November. The social worker asked me if his mom could call me with any questions she might have, and I said yes. I've done my part.
Yes, not being able to drive will really be hard for me, too!! I think that's about the worst part about it. Talk about butterflies! I couldn't sleep last night. I'm praying God will calm your nerves so you'll get plenty of rest before your surgery. LYMI

Kathy, what a wonderful testament for the priest. Having you light all those candles. You know it does his heart good to see his flock praying for those in need. You are in my prayers and is all of you ladies. Kathy I am doing so well. Really if you were with me and did not know I had surgery you could not tell. The only restriction on me is I cannot lift more than 20lbs.
CA keeping you in prayer and knowing you are in the Lord's hands. He will bring you through. Also I have DeAnna on a prayer list at my church.
Greenie...six weeks?! I know it stinks and I had Jerry here. You are going to have a lot of help between family and friends. All the things you do for others is going to come back to you.
Shirt when is Tig having his surgery? You have been through it this last year. Enough already. I'm sure you think that sometimes.
Lesley did you enjoy your time with your sister and cousins? Isn't it fun being together? I love being with my family.
Tater you are in my prayers. I hope things are going ok with your Mom.
Pat I hope you have had a good restful weekend. How's Johnny? Growing like a weed I'm sure. They change so quickly from a baby to a toddler.
Well it's not even 70 today with winds. We got almost three inches of rain! Praise the Lord. I can see woods from my back door and it is just beautiful. I didn't think we would have so much color because of the dry weather but the trees are amazing. I love fall except we know what is right around the corner. I like the winter but I get tired of not seeing the sun for so long. Nothing prettier than a big snow. My dog loves loves the snow. She rolls in it. Runs and bites it. It's so cute.
Well Jan, Wendy, Jill and everyone else who comes to ride on the bus now and then take care.
CA and Greenie, praying for your upcoming surgeries! Hugs!

OH, CA!! I don't understand why the doctors are going to be away if De Anna needs this surgery so badly before it spreads!! You would think they would orchestrate things better - will pray it happens soon and it behind her - guess the Lord is in control now and that is what He is asking us to do - TRUST HIM!
You are so good to get JG ready for EVERYthing he is going to need - will keep him in prayers for his family to continue to do what they need to - for his sake!
Sistahs - know you and your concerns are all in my prayers - Shirt - and Tig, Pat, CA, Tater, Brat, Lesley, Kathy, Sylvia, Jan, Wendy, and all the others who jump on too - Nancy, Kush, Chrissy, Jill, and anyone else who needs prayers! Hugs to all of you!!
