Default Tag Swap

I went to a crop yesterday with a group. Knew 2 of the people, but not well. Had a great time. Joined the "tag swap" about 4 others were going to take part in. I've never done a tag swap. I thought it meant " make a cute gift tag for when yu give gifts". Which is what I did. It wasn't Fancy, but everyone seemed to genuinely like it. The problem? "Tag" apparently meant "exquisite, miniature pieces of art". That you don't actually give away-they're keepsakes. I have four absolutely gorgeous tags. I was sooooo embarrassed! Live&learn...

I think it wasn't your fault at all. The leader of the swap should have explained the details to you since you were a newcomer to the group. The ladies seem to be a nice group since they genuinely liked your tag even though theirs were fancier. Now you have four inspiration pieces!

Thanks-that's a good way to look at it! Their tags are beautfiul, and I'll enjoy having them.

(By the way, my name is Nancy, too- and my uncle often called me "Nancy J " growing up )

I understand how you feel, and also think it's not your fault that you didn't really know what was expected.

About those tags that are "works of art", I really don't get it. But I don't "get" ATC's either.

I think I am basically just a practical person. I understand cards - they convey a message of cheer, or birthday greetings, etc. But the idea of a tag that is not used, and just kept to be looked at just doesn't move me.

Just my opinion, of course. I know lots of folks just love making them and collecting them.
