Packed the bouquet and kept it in a box for years. When GF's oldest was getting married....GF and I did all the flowers for decorations. But, the daughter was having real flowers for the wedding party. Not such a good move with temps of 102* outside. The flowers didn't look very good! But, anyway...I had made her a bouquet to use at the rehearsal. I took 3 of the original flowers from the bouquet I carried in her mom's wedding. Mind you...they are little tan these days!!! I stuck them down in the middle and covered them up with roses etc. You had to know they were there and the story behind it. This was her something "old" for sure! I told her sister that I had the last 2 for her when the time came. I had the rolling of eyes...not sure if she thought it a dumb idea or the fact of her getting married. Well, it's 7 years later...and I made one for her. I tucked the flowers down inside. I also came across some ribbon that we had used in her sister's wedding. I used that in this bouquet. So...she has a little bit of her mom's wedding and a little big of her sister's. I know she already has her flowers. But, this will be just a keepsake. My GF already told her that I did it. She was so surprised that I remembered! I'll get a picture of it....
How very special Suzy. What a great idea. I wish I had done something like that for my DD's bouquets so they would have them now. I sure hope they both are appreciative of this special thing you did for them.

The scratchy throat is feeling a bit better after I went in and took a hot shower. Maybe the steam helped. It's not completely gone and I should go gargle so that it won't come back. I have no time to be sick. I had to cancel going up to the church tonight to work on Family History and I hate that. It's been a few weeks since we've been able to get together but if I was really "sick" I didn't want to share germs.

it was a quiet day...seemed like a typical Monday for me

good thing too as I had a rough day with tummy issues again

Cody's team lost... the other team came out strong, 11 - 1 at the end of the first inning...wowzers...
Cody had two good hits, and played 3 rd base, he did a good job...

Ali's played on Jr Varsity, the won 2 games in 2 ... She is dressing on Varsity again, but I have not seen her play Varsity yet... Their Jr Varsity team looks great ... they play well together ...

I used Nasonex again for two days and yep my sore throat was back...Using Nasonex never bothered me before... But it sure does now ... Allergies are so bad right now, dry dry dry and hot with these corn fields and dirt roads sure does not help...lol

Good morning.

A stay at home day for me too, Soni. Though I'm not going to be baking cookies. Guess I'll just have to come to your house

Found a 'few' fleas in the laundry room last night so I've already stripped all the cat stuff out of there, treated everything and am working on laundry. When I'm done with laundry I'll go back with a vinegar mop before putting stuff back in place.

I'm also going to finish getting the carpet out of the bedroom today. Just have the closet left. I still shake my head at when the previous owners split the second bedroom in 1/2 to enlarge bedroom 1 and make a walk-in closet, they built the partition ON TOP of the carpet. So there is this little strip of carpet on either side of the closet door I'll never be able to remove - short of taking out the wall. that is NOT going to happen. Some people!

Making friends at City Hall is paying off. The clerk told me yesterday to just bag up my carpet rolls and bring them in to the city dumpster. She'd treat them the same as a bag of garbage. So that also needs done today.

Tomorrow I"m taking the day off! LOL

It is hard to believe our girls are almost 2. We won't see Abby until Halloween - 2 weeks after her birthday. We figure thanks to Grandpa's schedule the girls will usually get 2 birthdays a year

You and KK sure stay busy with those kids! But being in sports is good for them... even if it does wear you guys out

As she gets into mixed media she may wish she hadn't done that. LOL Copics are great for mixed media... especially if she's going to do any kind of journals or images. Why I'm still hanging on to my lonely 6

I don't pay much attention when I go to the Mikes in Springfield, but the one in Paducah has moved them up on the back side of the tower baskets by the registers. Yeah, like cashiers are able to keep an eye on them? And they are NOT locked up. Hmmm maybe when I go down in a couple weeks I'll ask the manager about the purpose behind that.

Suzy, I think what you did with those flowers is very thoughtful. Gifts that come from the heart are the best.

Temp is still around 60 degrees. Great morning for getting some stuff done. Have 2 loads of laundry ready for the line but Bob called. Now that he's off shift and headed for bed, I can get busy. I'll check in this afternoon. Hope you all have an amazing day!

Break time.
The carpet and padding are out of the closet. All 6 bags of carpet/padding are loaded into the truck to go into the city dumpster tomorrow. The last load of laundry (cat rugs) is in the machine, the other 5 are on the line. Decided I needed lunch and a break before I start scraping up flair square tiles. Most are coming up pretty easy so am hoping that continues throughout the room.

I just keep reminding myself how nice the bedroom will look (and flea FREE) when I'm done.
Good news is, I've not seen a single flea this morning. Whooo hooo!

also remembered I might not be able to run away tomorrow. I've made friends with the lady who bakes the pies for the Apple Barrel restaurant in Winona. She is suppose to bake a sour cream raisin pie for me tomorrow. I won't eat the whole pie LOL but if she makes it, I can just buy a couple of pieces instead of having the entire thing to eat. Bob doesn't like raisins so I only get it when 'grandma' makes one for the restaurant or when Kitty is coming up. If I have her to help me eat one, I don't mind making it. lol

Nice while it lasted. I went down into Bob's shop to get the tile scraper. He still has fleas in there. Don't know how after 3 flea bombs. I'm going to vacuum in there tomorrow then set off 2 more at the same time. Something has to get them, right?

I can't wait to see that, too. I know it's going to be precious.

I was successful...I found tennis shoes!! I was able to order another pair...and get it for half off!!! Now, that was a win!!! Finished my other errands before heading home. Then we got something to eat before bowling.

Bowling was a little weird...meeting wise. The management took away some of the lanes from this league. So, the secretary was scrambling trying to figure it out. It went from being 4 person teams...to 5. So, we asked another guy to join our team. Mind you we have the other couple that are new to us to bowl with. But, we've known them for a few years now. Very nice couple...and very into bowling! So, while we are trying to get it all figured out as to where everyone will sit....fill out the paperwork. The management gave 2 lanes back. So, they could go ahead and have those extra teams as 4 person ones after all. There were some new teams...but, they were late getting there...so, they left. Needless to say...we are back with our "new" team of 4.

We were really "on"!!! I bowled a 141, 140 and 152. My average is 132! The other couple bowled above their average...and so did Jack. We won all 4 games!!!!! The other team is one that we have bowled many times before. They said they had missed us!! One of them (she is the president of the league)...asked me if I took the summer off or if I had been bowling in another league. I told her we took the summer off for the Wed night one...and we bowled in another league. She said that it showed! I was really doing well! Wow!!! Nothing like being noticed!!!

We had a great time with this other couple. Plus, the other team commented that we really suit each other....it was a nice fit for us! So, several people noticed that our friends just weren't into it anymore!

Good morning Quackers.

I had a busy day yesterday even though I was at home. I took the time between blowing my nose (which was quite often) and coughing to clean out my stamp drawers. I pulled out quite a few SU stamp sets that I'm going to try to sell. A lot are background stamps and different flowery ones too. My DD and family will be here for dinner on Sunday and I'll give them to her then to put on E-Bay. You would think after that purge that the drawers would be slightly empty. NOT! I surely have enough to keep me going for a long time.

I had a bad night and still felt awful this morning, so decided I could stay at home again. I hate using sick time to be sick.

I take Zyrtec every night, so you would think that I wouldn't have allergy problems, but I still do I guess. I heard on the news that the pollen counts are really high right now.

LOL
When all they would have needed to do it to cut that strip of carpet where the wall was going to go. Just plain lazy.

Glad you'll be able to get rid of that carpet.
