Good evening Quackers.

I left work just a little early. I had a few minutes extra worked, so I took them.

Tomorrow my GF is supposed to come stamp with me. She wants to make a project that I had done for a swap I was in. I have a hair dresser appointment first at 9 and then later she'll come over. I do need to make a stop at the grocery store for a few items. Look forward to having a quiet weekend at home to get lots of stamping done and I need to try to figure out what I'm taking to ScrapFest in just few weeks!!!!

Sounds like a great way to spend the weekend, Maggie! I hope to get some stamping done myself!

I stayed up to finish STARTING NOW by Debbie Macomber...her newest in the Blossom Street series... It was really really good... quiet night, to finish off a quiet day taking Ali to practice and fixing supper were the most productive things
I did, oh and stopping at the library twice,...lol

It looks like a quiet week end here too, tho Krista did mention going to hear Mandisa sing at a church in Peoria tomorrow... I am not sure of the details, but I told her I would like to go too as long as my "tummy issues" are better ~ it has been a rough couple of days againNo reason that I know of... other than allergies are at peak...

I am off to bed, hope you all rest well...

Good morning Quackers.

Up early this morning. I haven't heard from my GF yet about what time she's coming today or if she's coming so after my hair appt., I'm going to stop at Michael's. They have a 15% off your entire order today and I need to pick up some Halloween stuff for another swap I'm in. Then I'll go across the street to HEB and get the few groceries that I need. I should be back home by noon.

Suzy, hope you get some stamping time in.

Soni, enjoy the concert. Hope your tummy feels better - maybe stress?

Shell, hope you have a fun Family Fun Day. What did Jaydin end up planning for you guys?

Kelly, you feeling better - still working on the bedroom? Got anymore fleas? I am plagued with Raspberry ants (crazy ants). Do any of you know about them. I think right now they are mostly in the South. They are very hard to get rid of. I call a Pest Control place yesterday and they are to come on Thursday afternoon to do an assessment and see about treatment. I guess then, they'll tell me how much.

morning! I just finished mopping all of my floors, we have a lot of tie here! It took all morning! But they are done & the dogs are clean too. Now just dusting and the sliding doors (dog nose prints )

Maggie, I have never heard of raspberry ants. We had a horrible problem with small ants in Ga. None here so far.

Soni, oh I do hope you get to go hear Mandisa sing. She is so powerful.

Shell, sounds like a fun day planned by the princess, enjoy!

Suzy, any break in that heat? When it's over 100* I just melt.

Kelly, thinking about ya while I work on my fairy house. Wish I had time to get in that swap but it just ain't happenin'. Maybe if she does it again next year.

Well I do not think we are going to see / hear Mandisa... the other lady could not go, Krista decided not to go on with out her...it is some where we have never been...

So it has been a quiet day ...well other than dumping a messy garbage can on my kitchen floor ... yes that was fun...lol

I put some mac and cheese in the oven and have a burger ready to cook on my little counter grill

I am wiped out... trying to drink lots of water and rest...

so far issues are better, it has just left me drained... so I am good...
tomorrow I should be better yet

Good evening Quackers.

Well, I ended up cancelling the hair appointment. I decided I wasn't quite ready to get it all chopped off again.

I did go to Michael's and picked up a few things, but I was rather disappointed at their lack of much in the Halloween theme. I guess I'm going to make a trip to Hobby Lobby. I'll probably try to get by there on Monday. I need to have my swap ready to send off by the 15th.

I also went by the grocery store. How can so few things needed turn into so much stuff bought!

I've got the laundry going and it's almost done, so that's a plus.

My GF didn't get over here until 3. She left work about 2, but had forgotten her bag of stuff at home so she had to go home and get it and then come back over here. I was surprised that it only took us 2 1/2 hours to make her project. It did turn out a little different than my original For one thing, I printed the image a little bigger, so that made a big difference. She did a great job using my Copics - her first time - and she was very pleased with how it all turned out, so I guess that's the important thing. She left with 3 more blank images and I'll send her the image so she can print out more if she wants to make more. I had bought the image for her as well as for myself so she can have hers and use it ho wever she likes.

I'm trying to figure out a layout for a card that I'm working on for the SBS Fan Page Challenge for this month. The image is all colored and I want to do a side stop card, but I'm not sure what I want to put on the side steps.

Shell, hope you have a fun Family Fun Day. What did Jaydin end up planning for you guys?

Hope you found what you're looking for.

We had a great day. Thanks! She cooked breakfast for us (scrambled eggs and bacon), and then, we went to an event called Art in the Park. It's an art show/exhibit/sale on the square in Marietta - a city about an hour from us. It's up near the stables.

They had a great children's area with crafts and such. There was a sidewalk chalk competition for professional artists, too. Sooooo cool. Even the port-a-potties were painted with cute motifs.

There's a rubber stamp store on the square, and we just HAD to drop by there for a few minutes.

We went to supper at Ted's Montana Grill and topped off the evening at Krispy Kreme.

It was a good day.

It was a great day. One thing I forgot to mention was that they had a place for the kids to make a 'city.' Each child could choose a box, paint it, decorate it, and put it in the 'city.' They had a canvas out with a few things painted on it - streams, streets, RR tracks, lakes, etc.... - and the kids could choose a place to put their building. Jaydin created stables .... go figure. She painted them light blue, used some brick-patterned wallpaper scraps to make stall doors, used bulletin board trim paper to make barn doors - that really opened - and put a sign on top identifying the building as Sampson's Stables. It was so cute, especially when it was put with all of the other buildings in the city. Such a neat idea.

It does sound like you all had a fun time. Did you buy anything at the stamp store? My oldest DD lived in Marietta for 2 years when my SIL was still working for Bush Furniture.

I'll go to Hobby Lobby tomorrow. I think that they will have more Halloween stuff than Michael's.

That's a fabulous idea and it doesn't surprise me at all that she would choose to create a stables. Did you take a picture?

I have a couple projects in the fire. 2 cards and then trying to put a list together of all the stamps and digis that I've purchased from Simply Betty Stamps. There are a lot of them. I can't really start to use any until I know what I have.

I need to finish up the two cards and I have a couple blog posts that I want to get done too.

I did make a yummy dinner - chicken with tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers, and onions. All on top of the stove.

your supper sounds good Maggie how did you cook it and put it together??

I took some time to just look around at Penny's, checked out the clearance and sales, since I had a 20 % off on top of sale or clearance... I did not find much, but I did get lucky I found a short sleeve open front ( with the curved and rounded side at the bottom~ the new style ) reg $30.00 and after the sale and coupon I paid $8.00 It is light weight and perfect for church( it is chilly in there ) or to grab when I am going any where there is A/C on...

then I went to Shop n Save for the food I needed for tomorrow...

I am off to start the scroodles for pasta salad and then the Texas Cake

tho I would rather just curl up in my chair...

I did. They have some unusual dies that I enjoy getting. I got 2 of those. The reason I went into the store in the first place was to get a Copic refill and to look for a marker. I wasn't sure they would have either one, but I wanted to try. They don't have a great selection, but they had what I needed. So, I bought a marker (Ciao, unfortunately, but better than nothing) and 2 refills.

Our Michael's moved across the street on Friday, and had a grand opening today. We dropped by to see the new store. Definitely different ... and better. I still didn't see a lot of the 'newer' stuff, but Jaydin and I both got smash books to play with.

It was really, really cool. Yeah, I have a bunch of pictures, but I've not had a chance to edit or go through them. I'll try to do that some tomorrow. I took about 300 at our church picnic tonight, so I have those to go through, too. I've started shooting in both jpg and RAW formats, so editing is a bit different. I really, REALLY like it better, though.

The box she chose was corrugated on the sides, so it made a very unusual building and texture for it. It was really neat. I hope the town didn't get destroyed in the massive downpours we got today.

Our Michael's moved across the street on Friday, and had a grand opening today. We dropped by to see the new store. Definitely different ... and better. I still didn't see a lot of the 'newer' stuff, but Jaydin and I both got smash books to play with.
Glad that you found some things you needed. I did notice that up at the checkout, Michael's had a display of the wide Copic markers. I'm not really interested in those.

then I went to Shop n Save for the food I needed for tomorrow...

I am off to start the scroodles for pasta salad and then the Texas Cake

It's called Spicy Chicken Cacciatore and I got the recipe out of a recipe magazine called Cuisine Tonight For Two. I love it because they are recipes for 2 servings, so not a lot of leftovers. This recipe is supposed to be for 2, but the chicken breasts that I have a very large, so I only eat 1/2 of one. The recipe calls for those that are about 5 oz. It calls for Prosciutto, which I didn't even know what that was. If I made this again, I'd use a good quality turkey bacon. You sear the chicken in a skillet then remove from pan. Cook up onion, pepper & mushrooms, add garlic, Oregano and red pepper flakes. Then add crushed tomatoes and put the chicken back in the pan. Cover and simmer until chicken is cooked through. It says about 10 min, but mine were so much bigger that I cooked them longer. Came out very tender.

Morning! After several busy days I am taking it easy today. Yesterday was fun with Justin, Liz & her parents but of course there is always work involved to make it look easy, lol. But the house is clean & we have left overs now so today is going to be a goof off day. YAY!

Yeah, I'm not either. I just wish my Mike's had Copics. I looked in the art supplies yesterday, but didn't find any. I was hoping. Right now, other than online or driving over an hour, my only source is Hobby Lobby. They don't have refills or a very good selection.

hi all....we had rain this morning!! Oh it was wonderful!!! Plus, I talked to Deb on the phone for 2 hours. She is having problems with her computer....AGAIN!! So, she is watching how much bandwidth is being used. Apparently "something" has taken over her service....downloaded 6 gig on Saturday. They weren't home at all...no one was. Now she has an email that states she is out of bandwidth. This happened last month too. So, she would turn it off after checking things quickly. She called us... Jack talked her through what she should ask for. The first person was a dud! Anyway, she got someone that knew a lot more compared to the first one. He has given her 2 gig to test...that way they can see what is happening. Apparently the dish is off...so, it's getting transmissions. But, a tech will have to come out...and charge her. She said she would rather be charged and get it fixed...than having to spend the monthly fee...to not be able to use it! Duh! So, we had a nice chat about lots of stuff.

I only have a few refills - BG10 (first one I got, I think), B00, B000, 0, C1, B21, E43, E33, and E35. I got the E35 because it was available when I bought that marker. I'd love to get the refill every time I get a marker. Just doesn't work out that way.

Hey ladies. Checking in. I'm camped out at McD's. Had to unplug my wifi and electronics to flea bomb the basement this morning. I'll get rid of these critters yet.

I won't be card making for a few days. I took my laptop down to the office last night and unplug the wifi because they were calling for storms. Came back upstairs with the tops of my feet covered in fleas. Ugh! So my day started with a trip into town for more flea bombs, flea spray, flea stuff for Bear and a fresh can of Repel for me. Then back home to cover all the surfaces downstairs, seal off all the doors and vents leading to downstairs and setting off a flea can in each of the 4 rooms.

Gal at walmart told me to spray the baseboards, hard surfaces with vinegar. Apparently fleas do not like vinegar. She even puts a bit in her dogs' water. The vinegar gets into their system and acts as a natural flea/ tick preventative. So after I vacuum the downstairs, I'm going to pray the concrete floors with strong vinegar/ water solution.

I still need to rip the carpet out of the bedroom closet. I spent yesterday moving all the clothes and dresser drawers out of there but was too tired to pull the carpet. Will do that tomorrow, spray the floor/ baseboards down good. When that's dried, I'll put the closet stuff back, repeat in the bedroom area and put the bed back together. I"m ready to get off the sofa bed. LOL

Gracious, Kelly. You're having such fits with that! I'm so sorry!! I hope this is the last battle and that the fleas just give up.

Hmmm..... I thought Michael's carried the Copic Sketch markers. It's been awhile since I've seen them there, but they did have them locked up back in the art department. I would never buy them from HL. Too expensive. I've bought most of mine online from either Oozak or carpediemstore. Much cheaper.

I think I've had to refill my B0000. I use that for outlining around my images a lot. I bought a bunch of refills from a girl that was giving up on stamping and going to mixed media so she didn't want them anymore.

I"m trying to find an IT techie to come to my house too and check out my laptop that's not going to charge me an arm and a leg. Wish I knew what happened to that kid that came to my house the last time.
