An interesting swap Kelly and Dody. I have no idea what people will make since it is papercrafting and yet it needs to be something to be used outdoors. ??????

Dody, I've lived in my house since 1971 and I still don't have the landscaping the way I want it - almost, but not quite. I'm probably going to redo the front flower bed in the spring. I'd like to get rid of the Blue Daze and put in more perrenials.

I haven't been able to work on a TPT card in awhile. I think the new kitties inside and outside have been taking up more of my time in the evening as well as sitting on the patio.
yes the items for the fairy garden have to be for outdoor use but I believe we're to make a card to accompany the item.

hope you were able to accomplish everything, Soni. Bob said it was relatively cool up there but might be different in the parking lot than out on the river. This week he is subbing so he's been making trips between Peoria and Hennepin. Wish I could grab Adrian and take her up there. Places where she could get close enough to really see Grandpa on a boat. She sees the ones in Paducah so she understands the kind of boat he drives but it's not the same as actually seeing grandpa on one.

Thanks to Bear and Bob, we have fleas in the house Ugh! Apparently in this wet weather, they found Bear and bred on him. Then when I let him in the shop out of the storms, he left some behind. This in turn allowed them to jump on Bob when he went down into the shop... and bring them upstairs.

Yesterday I bombed the garage. Today I've sealed off the bedroom (where they seem to be the worse) and bombed it. Goddess has had a flea bath (You'd thought I was murdering her LOL), and Spirit is getting a flea collar. Bob put stuff on him but he didn't separate the hair and get it on the skin so I don't think he really got any of it into his system. He shared a couple with me this morning.

Tomorrow I'll detail the bedroom then Sunday we'll all camp out downstairs for the day while I bomb the living room/ dining room. Yippeeee!

Busy day for you.

I had an appointment to go visit a lady from church at 6, so it was a rush home to get over there by 6. I waited until I got home from there to feed the kitties outside. They were off hiding when I got home anyway.

I fed myself some dinner and I think I'm caught up with computer stuff. I need to go get some cards ready to go in the mail so they won't be late and I need a couple belated birthday cards.

I also want to get a blog post up for a card I did for the Monthly Challenge and I also used it for a Blog Swap that I was in. I've got another Blog Swap coming up and I have to make a Spotlight card. I haven't done one of those in a long time.

Good morning Quackers!

Well, Corey is NOT going to the vet this morning. I should have crated him right after I got up when he lets me pick him up and he's loving all over me. When I did go to get him, he backed off. He's so smart. I keep the crate in the garage so they can't see it, but he still knew something was up. I thought I could corner him in the bathroom, but he hid behind the commode and hissed and growled at me, so I decided it could wait for another day. I rescheduled for Thursday so I'll just crate him right when I get up and he'll have to just stay in there. The appointment is for 8:45, so it won't be too long.

I've got to go to JCP this morning and return that broken shade and 2 other things that I had purchased for the windows that I'm not using. Hope I don't have a problem with this.

Then off to the grocery store. I really don't need a lot except fresh fruit and some yogurt. Then I'll have the rest of the weekend free.

Except for Corey throwing a monkey wrench into your plans, sounds like one of the calmest weekends you've had in awhile.

Two things to keep in mind... if you don't need them pliable, use dried sticks for furniture. If you want them to be pliable for like an archway then use green but give them plenty of time to dry (several months) after you form them into shape before gluing together. If you need help or explanation, just call.

I'm working on detailing the bedroom today. Spirit and I slept on the couch last night and neither of us scratched once all night or woke up with new bites so I think the living room is safe. However, when cleaning around the belt in the vacuum cleaner in the bedroom this morning I had a flea jump on me... after bombing yesterday! I'm going to get some stuff for the carpet today and let it sit over the weekend. I might be tearing out the carpet sooner than we had planned but the bedroom is the only carpet left in the whole house.

Since I missed Dapper's funeral yesterday (and found out from my Fed Ex driver I wouldn't have had to! Grrr), I am taking a drive up to the cemetery today to collect a couple of flowers. I want to make necklaces for his wife and daughter as well as a key fob for his son and Bob.

okay... so trip to the cemetery. 60 miles from home. Didn't look at the name of the cemetery. Just knew the internment was in Elsinore... a town of under 500 people. Can't be that hard to find a city cemetery.

Well... they'd have to have one first! They have 35 cemeteries... each one connected to a church... and NO city cemetery. I wound up calling kitty to look up the obit on line and get me a name. The quick trip took me over 4 hours. But I have 4 roses to turn into memorial jewelry.

I remember having fleas in my house years ago. It was terrible. I used to have to give my kitties baths all the time. They were not amused. The thing that helped me is when I had my floor refinished and had the tile installed. We haven't had fleas in the house since then.

Hi Debbie!

I ended up going to the movies with my GF that had a birthday on Thursday. We went to see The Butler. Really good show. There's a lot of history there.

I missed a call from my DD in CA, so I'll try getting back to her later tonight.

Yes. That's why I'm anxious to get rid of the carpet in the bedroom. That's the only room we had left and have been putting it off. Other projects took priority. I'm bombing again today. The carpet does seem better. I only had one live one and a few bodies kick up onto my slippers when I went in there this morning.

If this one doesn't get everything then I'll be pulling the carpet. Alone. Ugh! Who wants to help me move the furniture?

Thanks for the good review. I guess it took top box office for the 2nd week in a row. I want to see it. Bob thought he might sit through it but I think I'll go while he's gone. By the time he gets home and then his mom leaves I'm afraid I'll miss seeing the movie. That happens a lot here.

Howdy! We hiked thru the Preserve that is behind our house today. It is really lovely there, wish it was open to the public more than once a year. I posted some pictures on FB. Now it's time for lunch & a book and/or the pool!

Hope everyone here is doing well. Things are busy here, of course. School and group stuff have started back, so the busy will continue from now on.

up and ready to be in the kitchen
A Texas cake is requested ...lol What else would Krista want for her birthday???
However she had Death by Chocolate last night
and thought that was really good stuff too

I have a few things to do today, house is in good shape so I get to skip cleaning today woo hoo

I had my Sundays mixed up, so Krista did not work yesterday, so she did get to go to church and she did host small group at her house...

Good morning Quackers!

Kinda busy day yesterday, but it was all good. I needed to work on my PSC card for this week so I did finally get that done. Church and then I cooked some Marmalade Chicken for lunches this week. My DD had called on Saturday while I was out so I called her back and we talked for an hour. So much going on there with wedding plans and back to school. Had a lot of catching up to do. Found out something that concerns me. This young couple has a tough road to follow coming up. I hope they are both up to it. Prayers for them would be greatly appreciated.

It looked like a beautiful place for walking and contemplation.

Oh, definitely the pool!

Glad that Krista was able to go to church with you.

Who wouldn't like Death by Chocolate!!!!!!!!! Crazy. I'm sure your Texas cake will be a big hit too.
