Our bowling was interesting. We only won one game.....but, I had some great scores. The other team just out-bowled us! Our friends are still having some sad things happening with them....so, I'm sure they weren't mentally there for bowling. Their SIL's mother has cancer...moved her into hospice. Doctors give her about a month. She just found out about it in January. It's been fast! Very sad.
That is sad. Hard for everyone to deal with. I think I'd want it to go fast though if it were me. I wouldn't want some long, drawn out illness where you just get worse and worse.
Definitely pre-spring here. Our yard has been full of robins the past couple of days.... and just a few moments ago we had a visitor to our front yard.....
A garder snake! Way too early for them to be out of hibernation
I'm not ready to have mozquitos back again. We had such a mile winter, I know they are going to be out full blast!
I was goig to take pics, but Cody came home from school early, not feeling well...so the plan is for me to go sit with him , I think she might be able to get some one to take pics, hope so ...
Has Cody had a relapse from his sore throat illness?
Don't you wish that there was just one store (online) to go to where you could find everything that you wanted for stamping/scrapping??? While I'm off visiting people's blogs, I'm always seeing new, pretty things that they are using and they are all from different places. I can't keep track!

oh I so agree, even with my note book I get so confused...I need to go get a few items ordered and some mono...
thanks! I think we decided to build a new house, Bud is spoiling me...if we can swing it. The rental place is not to our liking but we can make it work for just 6 months if we have to. We need to get out of here in 3 weeks!

Wow! I think it's going to take longer than that to build a new place. I guess 6 months will go by quickly and hope that they are finished with the new one in that much time. So where are you looking to build?
Got an e-mail from my DD in CA today. They bought a new house (haven't sold the old one yet though) and will close on it in 30 days. It is beautiful and HUGE! I thought they were going to downsize, but they are upsizing. Here's a link. She says that it needs some work done which you can't really tell from the photos. The back yard is not fenced in, so they wouldn't be able to let Tucker out in the back except on a leash because it's all wooded area.
no Karen, I think Mt Dora is our place! It's in the hill/lakes country of Fl...lots of horse ranches & farmland & Mt Dora is a darling historic area full of small shops/rest/art galleries. If all goes well I'll post links.

Sounds so wonderful Dody...I hope everything falls into place for you... Sorry you did not find any thing...so if you rent will you still look or just go ahead and build?? I know 6 mos is a short time frame to build, but these days it happens ...
wow Maggie!!! that is a wonderful house, I hope everything goes well for them.
It is fabulous house. I think it's kind of scary though, although she tells me that it's a better deal than the house they have now because the interest rate is so much lower. Unfortunately, they are "under water" on their present house and they are not happy about walking away from it, but at this point, they really don't have a lot of choice.

my service was amazing, had me make a list of every issue I had been having... and he found more than one problem... a "crinked" wire out side, a bad cable outside a "junk" remote as he put it... he could not hook up my dvd player in the bedroom, due to not enough available inputs... not shre how Wally did it... he left me his personal cell #.
he happens to be l;ocal, so he said just call him, he will come...
he offered to come back a re run all of my wires behind the tv in the living roomn, to make it easier to trace... he seemed like such a nice man, probably about Keiths age... He agreed that the people answering the phones are not trained, they read off computers, as we say what is wrong it gives them a response...no wonder...plus they add their own in put...

That is fabulous news Soni. So happy that it's all working now. Could you send him down my way. I'm sure he would know what is going on here.

so many people are underwater right now. The house we may rent is also. They are trying to decide if they want to try to short sell it or walk away. They paid $500,000 a few years ago & are trying to get $375,000 now. We would get reduced rent to live in it, keep it up & show it to buyers. This house was built in the 40s, kinda of craftsman style but they made a few dumb changes that hurt the appeal of the house, plus it is on a busy 1 way street. It is in one of those in town areas (Shell, think Virginia Highlands) that professionals adore because it's so close to downtown & has funky, old, interesting homes. I like them new !!!

I think they are going to try to sell it. As they were out walking the other day, (she and Don), they ran into the realtor that they know who was out leaving her card at the homes in the neighborhood. She said that she would take it on, so we'll see what happens.

This house sounds interesting....but, to just rent!! The one way street thing would be different. You would have practice of keeping up a house to be sold. Plus, 6 months isn't that long....hey, they get houses built in that amount of time. We signed all the papers to start building the end of August...and we were moving in the beginning of Feb. That's with us having one of the wettest winters on record. I believe it was about 4-6 months before we sold the other house. Gosh...that was soooo long ago now!

the viewing that I went to the other night was in downtown Denton. This area isn't too far from the old square. Which is kind of cool. The funeral home is a large old home...really neat looking..and it's on a 1 way street. Just down the street is a B&B..and an Italian place. A spa was next door to the funeral home. So, it's an interesting neighborhood.

thanks, Suzy! I go from excited to scared really quick these days! Tears are never far from the surface. Yeah, 4-6 months can go by quick...it's not like we have to go to Iraq for heaven's sake (I tell myself) The rental is 45 mintues away from Justin (that's a bummer. I guess I would hang out at the rental a lot plus make tons of trips to the new house. Good way to learn the new neighborhood. Our buyers still have not got the appraisal done~ that's the last step before closing & still can hurt the deal if it doesn't apraise for the full amount. Normally I would say it should not be a problem but in today's market I'm not sure of anything.
Maggie...that is a beautiful house that you daughter has found!!!
Yes, isn't it fantastic. I still can't get over the fact that she's going to live in that place. What is also cool is that it's about 10 minutes away from one of the girls on the Perfect Sentiments DT and we plan to meet up the next time I get out to CA. Not sure when they will actually make the move since Amanda still has dance and a recital at the end of June. Lisa may end up having to drive her back and forth every day until after the recital.
I did get my new TV Remote though. Got it all programmed the way it says too and it still didn't do what it's supposed to do. Of course I called ATT right away. Got some dippy girl on the phone who didn't know what she was talking about. She wanted to transfer me to the DVD/Game Console Dept. Huh??????? I tried to explain to her all that I've been through over the last 3 weeks and know what??????? She HUNG UP ON ME! While I'm chatting away explaining things, she hangs up cause when I'm done, I hear nothing on the other end and then get a dial tone! I was SO ANGRY! Looked in the phone book to see if there was a Customer Service Number. I didn't see one, but I'm sure going to check into it tomorrow. There has to be someplace to call or write when you have problems. Anyway, I finally got myself under control and called back. Luckily, I got a young man on the phone who was able to listen to all that I told him and finally, FINALLY, set up an appointment for tomorrow evening (4- to send a technician to my house to fix it! He will have all the equipment that is needed, so if this DVR Receiver is bad, he'll be able to replace it right away. I just want to know what is wrong and how it got that way so it doesn't happen again.

Oh my gosh!!!!!!! How exciting!!! I can't wait to hear all about it. Congratulations, Dody.

I'm so glad that he was able to help you so much. Every time my mom has had to deal with them, she's had great experience, too.

Oh, how I love *looking* at those old, funky homes. They are amazing, but boy, I don't wanna live in one!! I love my conveniences ... the MODERN ones. LOL!!!
Both places - rental and new - sound awesome. I'm so glad that the trip was a success for you.
