Good morning Quackers. Sure was a busy day and evening yesterday. I barely had time to get my blog post done for PSC.
Shell, I sure hope that Jaydin is doing better today and can finally eat something. I can only imagine how she must feel - being hungry and not being able to eat. That would be torture.
Thank you. I've gotten some milkshake down her and given her the medicine. I'm hoping that keeping the medicine in her all day will help her eat better. I'm going to take her to church tonight, but I may have to keep her with me if she's not feeling up to being in her class.
have you tried Boast or one of the other suppliments? Might give her more protein & stuff. I just hate this for her & you.
I may get some on the way home tonight. I really didn't think I'd have this much trouble getting her to eat soft stuff. I bought tons of potatoes and such the other day, but she's not eating any of it. I thought about the Boost last night and may try it for tonight. I've got some protein shakes and thought about trying some of those - or making the milkshake with it - later.
At least, she's in good spirits and happy for the most part.

Though I may need to get the top trimmed a smidge.

even mix jello with all hot water let her drink it warm before it gels just ideas ~ I am sure u have thought of them
Sounds like night and day with your groups, Suzy. How old are these kids?
I hadn't gotten off yet....big plans there! LOL
You asked how old these kids are.....the school with the most teams.....they have members from Freshmen to Seniors in high school. So, about 14-15 to 18 years old.
The second school with just one team....all high school seniors.

I did leave the house yesterday. I decided to go to the Chamber of Commerce meeting. Kind of glad I did. We will see. Then I stopped at Memories for lunch. Got to come home for a couple of hours and see what the weather was going to do before going back out to cover the Valentine party at the nursing home.

All old enough to be given a print-out of their time schedule. The first time they can't comply, it's a warning. The second time, you're done.
My opinion.. quit putting up with it. But then I'm a *itch
Okay. Phone call with Bob out of the way. I wish I'd done zumba before I got hungry. Now I need to eat and it will be a couple hours before I can work out that hard. ::: sigh :::

Print out schedules don't seem to work with this group. I have given them that.....hard copy, and emails. It's like...."oh, do you mean us?" Or "I didn't get the email" Then give me the correct email address!! Anyway, we've decided on how we are handling it this next year. We've started to walk out after getting over there because no one was wanting to work. All of a sudden they were working....go figure!!!

Shell....sorry to hear that you and Jaydin are having issues after the surgery. I know I was told I had to swallow...it might hurt...but, it would get better the more I used my tongue. I guess that helped later on when I had to have braces on the teeth. I was also told the more you chewed after getting the braces tightened the easier it would be the next day. So, that's what I did....even if it hurt a lot! Have you talked to the doctor to find out what to do for her?

Certainly hearing a lot of noises outside....big equipment and such. Oh gosh...sure hope they didn't move up the date to start working on the road to our house! I'll have to get out and go check! Guess I'll go see about some lunch for me.....kitties already got something a little while ago!

It's a bit damp and chilly here. We had 3 teams fly yesterday...it was damp and chilly then too. It was painful to say the least....one rocket part landed on the wire. Need to get the maintenance crew out to get that one off the wire. So, they didn't fly again. For some reason I don't see them getting another part built for awhile. Hey...they haven't been very productive so far....why would they jump to this now! Another team hit the wire fence...did a little damage...but, they flew a second time. We forgot the raw eggs...I guess in the back of out minds...we didn't think any of them were really ready to fly! I guess! Anyway, we simulated the weight with weights. If there had been a real egg...it would have been broken. The third team flew their rocket.. it wasn't the motor that they were planning on using. That team captain was too busy with something else...so, he didn't want them using the motor that they had planned to use. It was too weird...anyway, that rocket went too high. But, at least they know for sure that that isn't the motor to use. All in all....I hope the kids got something out of the event. I know that we did.....we will be changing our approach for next year. We will be telling them that we won't be available for every week. We'll see them once a month. We won't be furnishing parts this next time. We thought that by donating the parts this would be a motivation to get that one made...and move on to a 2nd one. We could barely get them to finish this first one. The time is running out to turn in scores...it all has to be done by March 25 (a Monday). Let me tell you...I think we are counting down the days with this group!!!
As for the other team. We went down to help the teacher for an hour. He has two groups that are in the design stages. One rocket will go mach and a mile high. I think the other one has another requirement besides those two. We sat in on a panel for the teams to give their presentations. They were graded by the teacher for this..but,we could ask questions. Then stayed for the other rocket team that we've gotten to know. After being there for another hour. They had lots of questions etc. We needed to leave so that they could get to class/lunch and we had to get something to eat. They thanked us for staying the extra time to talk. Wow....it's amazing the difference in groups!!! I sure hope this group gets to the Nationals. That would be an awesome trip!!!
I'm glad that at least you have one team that seems to have something going for them anyway.

How'd she do?
I'm so excited for you that you signed up to take the Copics Certification class. It is so much fun and Lori Craig is fabulous, but then again, all the ladies are.

That's good that at least she's happy and not moping around the house or whining all day.

Sounds like the HS Seniors are the ones who have it all together.
Just an update - Jaydin just ate 2 scrambled eggs!!!!!! I am BEYOND thrilled with that. Mark stopped at the store tonight and got the eggs and some of the Kid Essentials (by Boost). She's not thrilled with the drink, but she got down the eggs. I'm going to get her a supplement tomorrow that should help, too. I'm hoping.
And .... we're riding tomorrow, as far as I know, so that should help her feel better, too.

She stayed for the whole class, but sat out during the music section (try singing without your tongue!!). She sat drinking her milkshake while the rest sang. It worked well.
MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, toooooooo!!!!! I can't tell you how excited I was that they offered one in Georgia ... and in a direction that I'm comfortable driving. I got an email at 1:45, and they had my application for both classes by 2! LOL!! I had approval that evening before 8.
Did you take anything extra with you to either class? My camera, obviously, will go.

Glad to hear that she's finally found something that she can eat okay.

I did take my Copics with me. They send you a list of the ones that they will use, and give you everything else, so you really don't need to take anything. Yes, the camera is nice to have. I took pictures of some of the slides and took pictures of Colleen's portfolio. They give me inspiration on how to color certain things. You're not really going to be "making" anything like a card, just coloring
Just got back in from taking the trash out....oh gosh....it was chilly out...about 38*. But, at least we don't have any winds. Looks like we'll have some wind on Saturday. So that 38* in a field, with wind is going to be so much colder. Need to find my long johns for sure!

I have a chiropractor appt today. When I went 2 weeks ago...he wasn't there and they didn't have a sub. The girl said that she had called and left a message....really long one. I didn't get it. So, she was shocked when I walked in. I need to remind her that if she didn't hear back from me about rescheduling....that didn't mean I didn't plan on coming in...chances are, I didn't get the message. I couldn't figure out why I didn't have a message. There was one..but, it wasn't from her. So, when I got home...checked the machine. The was a blank area...and then the message I had heard that I knew about. I checked caller ID....she had called. Not sure why we didn't get that message. I'm sure I have things out of wack...he might have to work a little harder today. Nothing feels bad...and I don't remember popping anything. That's usually a good sign that things are out of place!

Yes, it is pretty cold down here too. They say it's going to get up to the mid to upper 60's later today, but still cold at night. My hand are so dried out. I'm starting to get cracks again at the tips of my thumbs and forefingers. I wonder why it only happens there.
Hmmmm. . . speaking of which I haven't seen Sue around for awhile. Hope all is well with her.
