oh no, I was hoping you were better. I hope it is not the boiler needing relit. The house could get pretty cold before Keith gets home. I hated it when the wind would blow out the light.

No kidding! If my freezer wasn't full of cool whip and tomatoes I'd probably do the same thing.

We did a #8 turkey breast for us for our Christmas dinner. Just the right size for the two of us and gave me just the right amount of leftovers that I won't get burnt out LOL.

Dress comfy, find a heating blanket and go back to sleep It does sound as if you need it. However, it could be the cold house that's making you sleepy too. Keep warm.

I've FINALLY updated address lists. I just kept sticking pieces of paper in the address book but never getting the new labels typed up. That's done. Just have to print and adhere to the address book pages. I think after printing I'm going to need something to eat first. The left over stuffing is calling my name.

thanks ladies, well the furnace is working, yippee
Keiths dad came and plowed out the drive yippee...
too icy for me to spread ice melt tho

I know the medicine is what is making me sleep, that is why I try not to rely on over the counter stuff~ but right now I have no choice...

I did eat a little and took some Robitussin CF to get this cough to let up ... So I skipped the next dosage of other meds so I do not over do the sinus stuff...
I did get stocking filled, and updated my list made a new one of what I still need ... I was wanting to go wrap, but I feel like the meds are kicking in, so I am going to enjoy some tea, see what Dr Phil has on today and rest again!

a little bit at a time ~!

Well I got Faiths pillowcase made while I had a few minutes of feeling normal ~ OTC meds just zone me out so bad : ( I got my list updated, checked my checking account online, and have a couple of bills ready to go pay ....
I checked in with both girls, Faith was happy today and playing and eating better Krista said it was a long day next door having her kids all home ...

I washed and dried my hair so if I can get out tomorrow I will not have to deal with that in the morning...I ate supper , and I am ready to go curl up in my chair ...
Yep I took more medicine so I am about to fall asleep again ...

Christmas cards are done and by the door to go out in the morning. I realized I was short for some but I'm going to redo my card box for next year so that won't happen again. Then I think I'm going to spend days in January making them by category so they'll be done right. That's how it was SUPPOSE to be this year.

Maybe if I do it now while I'm thinking about it, it will be easier.

Glad you're still up to getting something done. Just remember to rest more than anything. Christmas isn't that far off and it won't help having the stuff done if you can't enjoy it.

I have a small window of time from where the meds are wearing off until time for more so I just try to get stuff done in that window...

I have rested most of the day, no choice ~ I may need to go with out a dose in the morning so I can go get a few things done... No way I can drive when I take meds.... I cannot ask Tam or Krista to help, they are both doing some thing , plus part of what I need is for them so ~It is so icy Randy cannot walk , so he cannot really help me either So I will just hope I am better tomorrow

But I can feel a difference so I am hoping it is just passing on its course... without any lengthy stops in any part of my body...lol

Good morning ladies

Soni, I hope you're feeling better this morning. I know mine hung in for over two weeks but I was on the go all day long, only taking my sinus headache stuff to keep the drainage at bay, my 2 ecchinacea 2x a day and my 4 Vit. C. Then at night it was TheraFlu and beddy bye. I know you're limited as to what you can take. I hope you find something that keeps you on track to both getting better and enjoying your holiday.

I awoke to a very 'pleasant' 19* outside this morning. Don't think I'm scooting out to the PO quite as soon as I'd thought. I have til 10:00. We are suppose to get into the low 50s today. I hope to get the old tent emptied and taken down. I had used it for storage when I was cleaning out the garden shed and it still has some stuff. The tent is trashed so I haven't pushed to get it done. But it's not going to hold up to any ice we might get in the next couple of months.

I'd like to get one load of laundry on the line. According to the weather, today and tomorrow are my last days for awhile to do that.

Just so ya'll know.. there are days when I really want to strangle my husband... for his thoughtfulness.

He texted me about 5 yesterday when he got on shift to say he was headed out to do the grocery shopping and would call when he got back. Well, apparently they had to go right out when he got back. I still hadn't heard from him by the time I was falling asleep to the White House Christmas Special at 9 p.m. I texted him I was falling asleep and going to bed. NORMALLY he texts me back to say goodnight. By10:45, as I lay awake, he hasn't texted me back. So I text him.... no reply. So I call and get his voicemail...he should have been off shift and able to answer, if not talk long.

So as I lay there worrying (knowing about the ice and stuff up in Chicago), he calls me back. He had left his phone in the wheel house and why he didn't answer. They just brought it down to him in the bunk room. And he hadn't texted me back because....

I was going to sleep and he didn't want to disturb me!

I could have strangled him.

aww, Kelly~ he was thinking about ya but he is a guy!

Soni, how are you feeling today? any better?

I hope to get going here soon & finish up what errands I need to do. Stephanie just told me that Jen & her family will come over for Christmas on the 27th! YAY!!! I have not seen them since MARCH! I may rethink Libby's gift & I still need an ornament for Jen. Bud wants to get Chris a workbench...yeah; that will fit well in the truck with 2 dog cages, their playyard , our clothes & all of the gifts.

Can you pick it out in FL and have one put on hold at a store locally in GA? It will be purchased, you'll just need to pick it up when you get there.

Otherwise I see a car top carrier in your immediate future LOL But that sucks on gas mileage

He might be a guy but in light of some of our recent conversations, he should have known better NOT to change our pattern.

Hope Maggie can check in this morning so we know she arrived okay.

Shell, what are you plans for this weekend? Does Jared get to come home for Christmas?

Okay, now that the cat is comfy between me and the laptop, it's time I got around. I've had my first cup of coffee, chatted on-line with my sis. The load of clothes are on rinse so by the time I"m dressed, they'll be ready for the line. Then I'm off to drop Christmas cards in the mail. After that I'm going to relax with a stamp magazine while I enjoy coffee and breakfast at the cafe before I come home and dive in.

For you last minute shoppers, be careful out there!

well the head ache joined in the mix today, I am hoping to get it calmed down ~ I may need to take one dose of nasal / sinus meds and wait until it wears off before I go to town... I so wish I did not have to go , I would love to curl up in my chair again...

I may call Sandy, I am not sure her and Kayle need / want to be around me tomorrow

Keith just stopped over, and was clearing the ice off my back entry way, so I asked him if he could do the front steps too ...
poor Daisy, she kind of slid of but getting back up it sure was not easy ...

I wish I had taken some meds when I woke up at 5 , maybe I would be feeling better by now * sigh

Dody , in answer to your question, I am sorry to say I do not feel better...I think this carp has a good hold on me ~ I was s hoping for just a day or two ...

I think this is such a big factor in today's youth. I do think parents need to figure out how to discipline their children without physical harm. Maybe some kids need a good swat now and again, but I think you can teach them how to behave without hitting them.

Hi Soni. You really need to take care of yourself. You don't want Christmas to be the reason you get sick.

Sounds like you're going to have quite the party next year.

I bet you might find lots of good Polish recipes online unless you just want the cookbook for your collection.

Hopefully we can encourage each other. Did you join the Christmas Card Challenge thread? That helped me up until about August and then I got bogged down and didn't get so many done. I have to remember also that if I have to do one for my DT's, then I need to make at least 5 of them for my stash.

They also did NOT run my story on Steven, which we need to encourage the potential options for grants/ private funding for next year. :: sigh ::
Glad to hear that you got your grade school concert story in the paper. I hope that the other picture was used with your permission. I just don't think it's right that people can use someone else's work and pass it off as their own.

Sorry your story on Steven didn't make it. Do you think they'll run that at a different time. I hope that you can get them to print it.

But they sound so yummy. I bet it's somewhere on the Internet. Hope you can find it.

I know they are out to have a good time...but, they actually need to be in a league of just men! They would yell and scream at the wrong time...which is probably why they do it. Just to get in your head! One of the guys said....sorry you have to bowl us before Christmas. I told him it wasn't our choice...it just happened! He came back with..."you have a great sense of humor!" When I got there...the board said that they were giving us 71 pins....because of their average. Well, they then changed out one of their members who has a better average. So, that upped the number to 91 pins. So, one guy kept fussing about it. To the point of sounding like a child....just so whiny! Finally our team capt told this guy that there was more whining in the warm up session than he heard in a whole game! It didn't really stop the guy....but, it was quieter about it! Before our capt said that....I told them guy that if they hadn't changed out the member....it would have only been 71 instead of 91. I told him to think that one over. As you can tell....I was sooo not impressed! I did have a great 2nd game....a 147! Too bad we didn't get another win. But, apparently not many have won against them. They were a bit surprised!!!
Congrats on the 1 win anyway. Those guys don't sound like much fun is going on with their bowling - more like annoying everyone else instead is the way they get their kicks

I hope they turned out great. One of these days I'm going to try some yeast baking. I haven't used yeast in a recipe in many, many years. I hate that whole rising thing.

In a lot of ways that I never realised, she is my source for over coming my limitations, and finding ways to accomplish all I wanted to ...too bad it took so long to figure that out of course most days were a challenge to just get her to smile ... but at Christmas she always did, for the kids

Do you mind sharing your mom's story? Why did she quit school at such a young age? Did she grow up on a farm? I know back then a lot of kids that lived on farms didn't go to school as much because they were needed at home. It sounds like she was able to accomplish a lot in her life without the formal education. I can see where Krista gets her baking and cake decorating talent from.

It's not much warmer here in sunny California. And we are supposed to be getting rain by Christmas Eve. I still have wrapping to do, so I hope my DD has enough paper and stuff for me to wrap gifts or we'll be some of those out on Monday shopping.

Meanwhile, my GF"s DH had gone outside and around to the side of the house where he confronted the guy on the driveway. Scared him and he dropped the package he store and my GF's DH grabbed his bicycle. I guess it was a young kid. Whoever it was sounds like he had already scoped out their house though to know about the doggy door. It kind of freaked me out knowing that I had just been there a couple weeks ago at night by myself.

That's what we are going to try to do. We are opening presents up on the 27th so we can swing by Home Depot & get it.

Maggie...gosh, you are on the count down now! Got your lovely card today...thank you!

Krista...wow, girl....sounds like staying at your mom's is the best. Amazing how quick that drive closed up on you. Might have to start trooping across the field! That's what we would do when we would visit Jack's grandma and the aunts and uncles. It was easier to walk through the orchard in the snow than it was to get out on the road...which was a very short drive!

Soni....you've gotten a lot done today....good for you! I guess I needed it colder before it felt like Christmas! It certainly feel like it yesterday...close to 80*! I only have a few more things to find. Guess I'll be pushing it tomorrow!!!
Glad that you like it.
