The last three.

Steven is so good with the kids. I think he would have made a good elementary school teacher. He knows how to introduce music in terms they can relate to. The gentleman on the double bass is Doneta (spelling not correct I'm sure) He has been with the group all 4 years it's been to Birch Tree. He also speaks Italian.
Then there is Maestro Steven Byess in full conductor mode.

We've already been texting this morning LOL

Faith is here, but Tammy carried her in asleep, she is not feeling well either It is good that she is here, Tammy has a busy week end with Brooke and a 31 event...so she can just hang out and get better

I found the 4 gig card, but the big one is no where to be found ... Oh well
I had the other one in my purse, it had pics from when we went to Tennessee, and Tammy had troubles getting it to load onto a cd...so I kept it put up so I could go get a cd made ...

Soni, glad you found one of your cards; the other one will show up sooner or later.

Suzy, I think that dog catcher is chashing after me right now, Jack is safe. I plan on being in Ga after Christmas, I guess I'll have my girl there cut it again.

Kelly, great pictures! I can tell you loved every minute.

A pool guy just came & took measurments, I guess we need to get started on the 'thinking' part now. We'll have at least 2 co. give us their ideas & take it from there. It would be nice to have it done by summer. The back yard is soooo small I just can not picture a pool & decking there; of course there will be NO grass at all in the back.

Well, at least that will cut down on the mowing! The pool will be so nice. Do other of your neighbors have pools?

I hope Faith doesn't end up being really sick.

Glad you found you 4g card anyway. The other one will turn up as soon as you buy a new one. Murphy's Law.

Me too, but I won't have time to do that until Monday night. I plan to go to the PO tomorrow though and pick up stamps. Hopefully I'll be able to mail off a package tomorrow also.

So sorry for your loss Suzy. I'm sending up prayers for the family. That's amazing that she was 100 years old! Wow!

Maggie, I'll bet you're looking forward to playing with that baby LOL

I have all day at home to get some stuff done. I need to get these pictures finished up for Steven. Then I can get the bathroom decorated. After that Bob's going to help me with the living room so we can go into storage and get the tree. I also need to make the vegi salad for tomorrow's writer's group Christmas party.
It'll be close to his bedtime, so not sure how much playing time we'll get in before it's nighty-night time. It will be fun to be around a baby again. Haven't done that in 17 years! Morgan used to come and spend the night with me every month when she was little. I never had Christian so much because of his special needs.

Good luck with the decorations.

In case anyone is interested, PSC is having an open Design Team Call until January 7. Looking to add at least 2 members to the Design Team (6 month term) and also looking for Guest Designers if you don't want to commit for 6 months, the GDT is for 3 months.

Just a quick pop in to let know that I'm working through issues right now. My court date was yesterday and everything is done. My last name is now changed to Sturdevant.

Next up is to get through the holidays. Work schedule is tough - would much rather be home but unfortunately, finances don't allow that.

Christmas gifts are all bought, got that done on Black Friday. Just have to get them wrapped. No room to put up a tree in the money pit. Addison told me I could have Santa bring my presents to her house that way I could still have presents even if I don't have a treet.

Davina got Addison the Elf On A Shelf with the girl elf. Oh my, it was so funny. First she read her the story and then they went looking for the elf. Addison is actually afraid of the elf. Addison named her Icey. So every day, Addison has to tell me where Icey is.

Not much else happening here. Taking each day as it comes. Have absolutely no holiday spirit yet. Much like last year. Maybe I should have waiting until after Thanksgiving to make my trip to Illinois. Last year that sure helped me.

I'll try to stop in more often, but I'm trying improve my attitude about life and I have my days when I just want to pull the covers over my head and cry.

Oh, I did, Dody. Not just because of Steven but because of the beautiful music. I'm finding I enjoy listening to it a lot. Very emotional music. I'm really looking forward to the symphony in April, now.

Glad you checked in, Sue. So cute about Addison and the elf. I wish Sue could get into stuff like that. I'd have one for the girls.

Congrats on the divorce. That seems odd to say, I know, but now you can really begin the move forward. Any change is difficult but you'll be fine. Hang in there.

Well, we are home from errands. The tree and ornaments are here and the outside tubs are back in storage out of the way. I need to go out and take care of the dogs yet before it gets dark. Then I'll get the decorations up in the bathroom, clean sheets on the bed before we go to dinner. After dinner I need to throw the vegi salad together and wrap the Secret Santa gift for the writers meeting Christmas party tomorrow.

then I'm ready for an early night. I woke up this morning with a scratchy throat. Was hoping it would go away but it's being persistent. I so don't want to be sick for Tuesday. Don't know where it came from but I sure don't need it.

Default 10 Ways To Be Happier In Your Own Home

I found this on pinterst & I am going to try it next year. Anyone want to join me? Calling a friend or family member each day will be a challenge for me! But I can see that I do need to reach out, perhaps a few quackers may get calls

1. Make your bed.

The book The Happiness Project, explains that this three minute task is one of the simplest habits you can adopt to positively impact your happiness.

2. Bring every room back to “ready.”

I learned this trick from Marilyn Paul’s clever book, It’s Hard to Make a Difference When You Can’t Find Your Keys. It’s a known fact: Clutter causes stress; order creates a haven from it. This mood-boosting routine is simple: Take about three minutes to bring each room back to “ready” before you depart it. (Unless you have a toddler, or a partner who likes to simulate earthquakes, three minutes should be sufficient.)

3. Display sentimental items around your home.

One reason that experiences (and memories of those experiences) make us happier than material things is due to the entire cycle of enjoyment that experiences provide: planning the experience, looking forward to the experience, enjoying the experience, and then remembering the experience. Make your home a gallery of positive memories.

4. Start a one-line-a-day gratitude journal.

Before bed, simply jot down one happy memory from that day. (If you have kids, you can ask them, “What was the best part of today?”) Reflection is an important part of happiness, and pausing to reflect on a positive event from each day cultivates gratitude. (An added bonus: Later, when your memory is defunct, you will already have all of your meaningful adventures recorded!) If you have trouble getting started with journaling, consider buying a book to guide you. Simple Abundance, by Sarah Ban Breathnach, is a great one.

5. If you can’t get out of it, get into it.

This tip comes from The Happiness Project. I love the message: The dishes are not going to clean themselves, so you will do it, and you will like it! (Unless, of course, you can outsource this job, in which case I say: Nice work!) Otherwise, get into doing the dishes. Feel the soothing warm water on your hands. Enjoy the tickle of the tiny bubbles. Crank your favorite album at an unusually loud volume, do a couple fist-pumps while shouting “Can I get a hell yeah for the dishes? Hell! Yeah!” and pretend you love it.

6. Before you get up each morning, set an intent for the day.

In The Art of Happiness, the Dali Lama says “”Every day, think as you wake up: today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it.” Wow. What a wise man. I tend to wake up with a strong visceral reaction that says, “Attention human beings: Be afraid of me before coffee. Be very afraid!” Setting a daily intent makes a huge difference. Your daily intent could be something like “be productive” or “enjoy today’s delicious moments” or it could be something more specific like “say thank you to my loved ones today.” But it should not be another “to do” item on your list.

7. Do small favors for your housemates, expecting nothing in return (not even a thank you!).

(That’s right, I said it: nothing!) Mow the lawn for your husband, but don’t expect him to pat you on the back. Make the bed for your wife, but don’t try to get bonus points for it. Take the trash out for your roommate, just because. The ability to cultivate strong, healthy relationships is one of the biggest contributors to health and happiness, but when you start to keep score, the benefit is lost. (No! It’s YOUR turn to clean up the dog poop!) It’s a well-known fact: When you do good, you feel good.

8. Call at least one friend or family member a day.

You can do this while you clean, while you make the bed, or while you walk the dog. Texts and emails do not count! Make an actual phone call to a loved one, just to chat and catch up. We humans are social beings and studies show that even when we don’t feel like it, even if we are naturally introverted, socializing with our loved ones makes us feel better.

9. Spend money on things that cultivate experiences at home.

Save money for a new grill for parties or a new DVD for family movie night — something that will encourage you to have people over and entertain. Plan a summer barbeque, invite your closest friends, kick back and relax. (And don’t forget to print out the pictures to remember the good times.)

10. Spend a few minutes each day connecting with something greater than yourself.

Whatever your spiritual beliefs — or non-beliefs — may be, studies show that connecting to a high power is correlated with happiness. Just stepping back to realize that we are part of an enormous universe can put some perspective on your annoyance with the those-are-definitely-not-mine-and-they-are-abso-fricking-lutely-repulsive socks under the coffee table. Before bed, spend just a few minutes contemplating something larger than yourself. Take a walk in nature. Write in a journal. Create a sacred space in your home. (Or if spirituality is really not your thing, create a home spa: light some candles, soak in a hot bath, delve into a good book… are you feeling better yet?)

Suzy, I think I'll change it just a tad; I already make my bed first thing....maybe I should say I will put on make up each day. I sure don't do that!!!! Instead of doing a kindness for my 'housemate' I think I'll make that a Random Act of Kindness to anyone. Bud is spoiled enough but he will get a share anyway, lol!!!

I tried to finish #100 tonight ~ Faith went down early, with her medicine in her she was ready...

I almost feel asleep reading...Krista was here, she just left, so as soon as I have my warm Ovaltine I am off to bed, I need to rest while she is sleeping just in case she wakes up ...

I took some cod medicine too, my nose is running and a few chills, so I want to kick it before it grabs hold... I took my vitamins and extra vit c too

good night all

Dody I really like the concept when I can re read it and think I may change a few things too I make my bed first thing too and I will need to change another one too

At least you won't have to water or cut any grass out there!

It's good to hear from you, Sue. I'm so sorry that things are rough for you right now.

We have an elf, too.... he's a mischievous little guy, too....

Good morning Quackers. Got lots to do today so not sure how much I'll be one. Be glad when this hectic weekend is over.

DD told me last night that we could have Christmas at my house. I told her I did not have a tree up, but we could still do it here if she wanted, which is amazing because I don't think we've ever done Christmas here. She always wanted to have it at home with the kids coming down the stairs. I guess since they are older now, that doesn't matter so much. We're going to talk it over with the kids on Sunday and decide.

Dody, I"m all for being organized in all aspects of life. That's one of my goals for the New Year.

Sue, glad that things can finally settle down in your life. So funny that Addison doesn't like the Shelf Elf. Hope she warm up to her soon.

Ya know, maybe you could pick one room & have that be your goal...one is better than nothing, right? Like straighten up the family room or kitchen? With a houseful of kids it's unreasonable to expect a whole house clean!

Does anyone know of a good Bible Study I could do online or even get a book for? I think I need to get back into having my quiet time each morning.

I enjoy most of the Women of Faith ones, and they can be found on Christian Books .com many different areas of study... or if you go to Proverbs31ministries there are awesome ladies that each do Bible studies... and yes , that quiet time helps set my day and I usually go back to it at night and see if the days happenings have followed my "wanted to reach " path
