Went to dinner at the Genghis Grill with my GF and her DGD. First time I've been there, but I didn't have the dinner where you pick the food yourself and they cook it there. I just ate off the buffet. They had so much food. It was really yummy. Topped it off with just a little bit of chocolate ice cream.
Now home trying to get my Pins card done. I'm cuting some paper lace mats right now to see how they'll look.

I'm thinking I should jump back into the creation pool. Got inky at Soni's and realized how much I missed it. Been planning cards in my head on my daily commute. Think I need to get a small tape recorder so that I can remember the ideas once I get home.
Maggie - thank you for the Halloween card. I love it! I'm going to get my bulletin board hung so that I can put your card up for display.

So happy to hear that little Joseph is doing well enough to go home. Yes, the power of prayer is awesome!
Yes I save enough for small garbage cans too ...
and yes the Power of Prayer is so AMAZING

It was a nice evening, Faith ate pretty good, still a touch clingy, and just not herself...but she enjoyed Krista and Ali and Cody...then later Donovan was here too, she really likes him lol
She fought going to be, I think she was just over tired with not feeling well too... She is asleep finally, Tammy is getting her things ready for her show ...I am about ready to say good night...
Good morning Quackers. It's going to be a long day today at the Copics class. Starts at 9 and goes til 8 tonight with an hour for lunch and 2 hours for dinner.
While I'm gone I still need to make a call to the lady that I'm spotlighting for our RS Newsletter for November. I called her the other night and she had just touched down in Vegas for her sister's wedding yesterday. She said to call her on Saturday. At the time it didn't register that I'd be at the class today, so I'll try to call her on our lunch break and hope we can talk then otherwise I'll see about talking to her on my dinner break.
I worked on my Pins card and it's looking pretty good. It just needs some embellishing, but I'm not quite sure what to do with it yet. Got all my things together to take today. I like to take my own markers, so I had to gather the ones together that Colleen says we're going to use instead of taking all of mine. I think I"m ready.

Maggie, I am sure you will totally enjoy today even if it is a long one... Are you meeting any one for lunch or supper? or will you just eat with some of the other ladies there ??

: ) well I have Faith, and she is full of FUN I will keep her tonight too
She is resting and I am on my way to mt chair to do the same...
I am tired, not sure why ?
Her mommy will be back after her show, but will go to grandpas tonight
Rest is a good thing, Soni...it must be because that is all we're doing today, lol. I pretented to unpack a few boxesin my craft room but got tired & came down to snooze in my chair. Bud 'rested' his eyes as well. I planted 4 of the flowers I had around the pool, this yard is 99% pure sand!!! Went in very easy, hope they make it...it's been real dry around here lately.

I had a fabulous time. It was so great to see Colleen again. She is really a character. I'm glad that I took the class because I learned so much more this time than I did the last time. Picked up a few more tips for coloring better. Sad to say that she's been promoted to Education Director and won't be teaching as much. They have more advanced classes coming up next year which will be announced on November 15. She wasn't allowed to tell us anything about them. It's not likely that she'll be coming to Houston.
I didn't meet anyone for lunch or dinner. I had brought some things to eat because I needed to make a phone call to a lady from church who is out of town and I told her I'd call her today. As it was, she wasn't available to chat. I left her a message at lunch time. Then when we had our dinner break (1 hour instead of 2), I tried calling her again and got her voice mail. Most everyone just kind of hung around the hotel. I went out to my car.
Since we all decided that we could just do 1 hour for dinner, we were able to get done an hour earlier and get out of there early. That was nice.
sounds like you enjoyed your class, Maggie. That's great!
We had our club meeting...went fine. Then we went to eat at Jason's Deli. It was the usual group...plus one extra. He just sort invited himself...which was fine. He is "very" interesting.....

Good Morning... Up early, as Faith must not have gotten the memo on the time change I guess their little bodies do not know that extra hour is a great thing... lol
So she is just playing, has already had a bottle...Breakfast will be pretty soon She is happy so that is all that matters...
I hated time changes when the kids were little. It really messes them & us up. Nap time will help even things out (hopefully!) It was nice waking up to some daylight this morning but I am going to hat it being dark so early tonight, sure makes it hard to stay awake.
Maggie, your class sounds so interesting! I would have loved to go to it with you. As I slowly unpack all of my paper crafting stuff, I am wondering what to do with it! Yikes I have forgotten so much.
Suzy, I thought of you yesterday when we were leaving to go grocery shopping & saw a hot air balloon had landed in our neighborhood. I know it's not a rocket but it still was from space, lol. I would love to go up in one of those someday.
I am off to make those sidelight curtains for the third time! They look good but you can still see in thru them if someone is standing on the porch peeking in. Since you can see right into the family room where we sit I want the curtains to be denser. I bought I nice silk from JoAnns yesterday that should work, still very light weight but not transparent (and it was made in Japan not China! LOL!!!)

Good Morning Dody...I am just thankful that mt sweet girl slept well, she had a rough spell before bed... those teeth are really messing with her in ALL ways... I have changed more messy diapers in 2 days than I have in most months : (
She is just having a low keyed morning , so I am too
Hope the curtains turn out to be just what you want this time
So happy for Shell & family sounds like other than Jonah being sick all is well.
Karen, pop in & let us know that you are ok!
Soni, if yu find those extra brain cells, please grab an extra big serving for me. I need them.
Suzy, bowling sounds like fun even if you don't win. Did anyone dress up? Now thast would be something to see, lol!!!
Kelly, I love the idea of Freecycle. I am all about keeping anything we can out of the landfills. Bud & I have recycled since the 80s but Justin is the only one of our kids that recycle. I got so upset with Jen when they were drinking12+ cans of soda every day & then just tossed them. We only have so much land on earth & trash shouldn't take up as much space as it does.
Maggie, has Wanda had her kitties yet? How are your outside kitties doing in the colder weather?
I'm doing it more since we moved out here. Bob wasn't keen on it when we lived in town. But here we take stuff to the recycling center about every two weeks. He mounted a can crusher in my garden shed. I have those collapsable laundry baskets for plastics and tin, a box for cardboard, one for paper/ magazines. I agree with the earth/ trash thing. It's part of being respectful to Mother Earth. Take care of her and she'll take care of us.
Hi Maggie, I cannot wait to see your card, me and simple are pretty close
Shell, hope the cruise is everything you want it to be , and I truly hope Jonah is better so he can enjoy it too Kel, what did you think of the CMA's?
Suzy, are you home today?
Dody, so what are you doing in the house today??
Karen, just wondering how you are?
I am up, but not sure what all I want to do today...
You like asking the loaded questions, don't you? LOL
I think the show followed the track the industry has been on for the past several years. It's about numbers and appealing to the masses. Rather than try and regain control of a time lost and introduce people to what COUNTRY is suppose to be, they're going the safe route with what they know people will buy. It's dictatorship through and through.
My review of the CMA's last year was very harsh. I said my piece and let it go. This year I played a bit nicer. You can check it out on my Country Angel blog

Shell, enjoy!
I say PLAY WITH IT! LOL You'll have all your cards/ both occasion and Christmas for next year in no time! Then there's also the swap group. Get your kits cut up early
Maggie, I'm glad you got so much out of the advanced class yesterday.
Soni, so glad you're getting this time with Faith. Can't believe she's still on a bottle. Abby's has been gone for a couple months. She does have a particular style of sippy cup that she'll use, though. She's been sick the past couple of days but Jeremy had the flu so it's just going to run it's course through the household and they'll be fine.
After making breakfast yesterday and getting pre-baking done for the weekend, Kitty and I spent about 9 hours working on our novels. I wrote 3 days worth of word count in 1 day. Thankful I don't have to do that today. The Bronco game starts at 1 and I plan to at least be having it play in the background.
Karen! so glad to see you buzz through. We've missed you, sweetie.
Dody, yeah on the JoAnns deal and only 30 boxes left! You guys are really settling in.
Shell, glad you guys are having a good time. Someday I hope to take a cruise. But mine will be a music cruise probably out of Galveston. Just a personal preference LOL Nothing against Mickey.... Never Ever! But my music cruise could be a tax deduction hehe
Suzy, yep, back to routine. Routine is good. Cute about the senior bowlers getting into the Halloween spirit.
Soni, please let KK know I got my envelope. I know I will not be participating the next go round. I'm looking at the envelopes I am backlogged on now and it's only going to get crazier over the next year... I hope. Crazy means a paycheck LOL
Bob's off herding the neighbor's cattle out of another guy's field. The guy who's field they are in... he and his son are down from St. Louis for Youth Deer Hunt this weekend and now can't hunt because of the cows.
Another solid day of writing today. Not sure what time Kitty is leaving. I think it's still up in the air as to whether it will be before or after the Bronco game. Depends on how many more times Steve texts her that he's lonely and wants her home. GIVE ME A BREAK! At least he admitted to being whiny LOL

How's that for a political answer? LOL
well... okay...
I just wanted your honest opinion and yes I agree the industry is doing what the rest of the world is doing...it is a shame tho Country always had " their Own" style,
I just miss seeing and hearing that ... these new ones are talented, just wish there was another place for them so country could remain in their own realm...
