Popping in for a bit - just finished up loading about 50 items into eBay. There are already bids on some of the items.

Had some excitment on my street last night. Seems there was a disagreement between a couple of young men and one of them stabbed the other one in the back. Just 4 houses away - never heard a thing. The ambulance coming down the street out front is what alerted me and then I thought it was one of the friendly neighbors. Turns out it was some young men who live in the next block down but the wounded one was in my friend's front yard. So, needless to say, I didn't sleep too good. There was no worries for anyone, the stabber was hauled off to jail - it was just the idea of it happening in our little town. Goes to show what alcohol and drugs can start.

Just resting now tonight, really don't want to go to work tomorrow. Got in the sorting mood and would like to continue. Oh well, have to get a paycheck to meet expenses, so will have to go to work.

Nothing else new - just a quiet holiday at home. Ate the leftover Pizza Hut pizza up for meals. No cooking for me. Actually looking forward to my pillow - very tired today but wouldn't allow myself a nap because then I for sure wouldn't get a good nights rest. Good thing is there are only 4 days this week.

Hi there.

How is everyone?

I've been home, but busy. I've gotten a lot done - and hope to get a ton more done tomorrow.

I didn't feel well yesterday, so I didn't reply to anything. I feel a lot better today, though.

We all enjoyed our day
Jim came with Tammy and got the grill out and started it Keith went out to help and the guys did the cooking for me... that was great...

Tammy picked up a young girl that is a client where she used to work that lives near here, so we had an extra one...she is a happy delightful young g lady...her and I played ladder ball and she was so thrilled...
Ali's boyfriend joined us for the day too, he played ladder ball and Will with the boys And Mama Sue was here too... It was a great day... I am so glad I choose such an easy menu...

Faith is home with Aunt Krista for the night and tomorrow

I am ready to curl up with a book, but Ali and Donovan are still here so I will wait a little while...

Sue, wow yes that close to home can be unsettling...

I hope work goes well tomorrow, I will be running all day, I have a bill to pay, take Daisy to the vet, then to be groomed, and go see Lisa stop at Walmart if it is not too hot... then come home in time to go to Cody's baseball game
After today and tomorrow
I bet I sleep in Wednesday ...lol

Good morning. Nice and cool outside. If I didn't have another project needing finished this morning I'd be out in the shed. Goddess and Spirit are laying here listening to the squirrels in the pignut. They are busy little squirrels this morning. And so talkative.

Good you found the source of those ants. I have knats really bad. I'm moving the couch today to see if the kids left anything under there when they were home in July.

My yard is starting to look like a jungle - due to the rain last week. Until then it's been so dry it wasn't growing. Now all of a sudden I need to mow.

Outside- 3 dogs (all drop offs) Buddy and Trixie. We think they're related though they don't look alike (how many mixed batches actually do though). They are about 5 years old. And Bear, the Great Pyrenees. And a Butter yellow tomcat - Butter.

Trixie is completely deaf (can't even hear a dog whistle), blind in her left eye and her left nasal passage never developed. She has some blue heeler or dalmation in her. Then Buddy has some boxer and/ or St. Bernard and lab.

Shall we count Miss Thing - the coon who comes up for her graham crackers, George the Opossom that eats the catfood if he can beat Miss Thing to it, King the black snack who has a nest in my Lily bed and the two turtles who frequent the front and side yard (they hibernate under our front deck - Spot and Stripe.

How scary, Sue. Yes, that would be unsettling. Go you on getting stuff uploaded to eBay and making progress on the sorting. Why are there just not enough hours in the day?

You do have quite a family there. I love it that you even give the wild critters names, although I don't thing that I'd be happy with King living at my house. I have read a series of mystery books though - The Sneaky Pie Brown series where the animals talk to each other and one of their critters is also a King snake that lives in Harry's barn. (Harry is a woman). Suzy is reading these also since I gave her my whole series. She started reading them first and then I took all the ones I had to her when I went up to Dallas in July.

Good morning Quackers. Slept in again today. You know what is great about being off today - knowing that everyone else had to go back to work! It was almost 8 when I went out to feel the kitties and guess who showed up in the back yard. Yep, Miss black kitty. She came to the front porch last night and I still wasn't sure who she was or where she was coming from, but since she came to the back yard, I do think this is the same kitty that I fed before who had that little black/white kitten. Missy Gray almost went after her when she came up to get something to eat. Luckily, I was able to move her out of the way and since I still had some food left in the little pitcher, but no dish, I just dumped some out on the ground. She didn't care at all.

Glad you had a quiet day yesterday in spite of the disturbance on your street.

Reminds me of a year or so ago when after I got home from work, our street was mobbed with cop cars and dogs. Turns out that someone they suspected of murdering someone else broke into the house 3 houses up from me. The police went around getting everyone out of their homes 3 houses on either side of the suspect house. We had no choice. It was leave your house immediately. It didn't take too long before they were able to get him out of the house without any shots being fired. That was a good thing. The original incident didn't even happen here; it was somewhere farther away and he just happened to end up here while they were chasing him.

I am ready to curl up with a book, but Ali and Donovan are still here so I will wait a little while...
I am so glad you had a great day. As for the easy menu...I am beginning to think that is the only way to go. Martha Steward fussiness is overrated!

Thanks for the head count & hey! if you named them of course you count them!!!!

Good thing is there are only 4 days this week.
holy moly!!!!! not the kind of excitement you want!!!!

Did you share the list of e bay items & I missed it???

Reminds me of a year or so ago when after I got home from work, our street was mobbed with cop cars and dogs. Turns out that someone they suspected of murdering someone else broke into the house 3 houses up from me. The police went around getting everyone out of their homes 3 houses on either side of the suspect house. We had no choice. It was leave your house immediately. It didn't take too long before they were able to get him out of the house without any shots being fired. That was a good thing. The original incident didn't even happen here; it was somewhere farther away and he just happened to end up here while they were chasing him.
oh my!!! what a world we live in!

sheets & towels are in the wash & I think "Horn Inn" is closed for the near future.

How often do y'all wash your sheets? Am I gross that I only wash ours once a month?

Nope, not gross. I don't wash mine all that often either. I"m the only one that sleeps in them and I don't get them dirty. Well, I take that back. Chancey also sleeps in them and he gets them mighty dirty with his cat hair. But it's only a small section up in the corner by my head where he likes to sleep. I've found 2 great ideas though. One is that I have a cat hair brush that has small metal bristles. I found out that it is also great for brushing that area of the sheet and it picks up the cat hair off it. Then I use one of those tape clothes brushes that picks up lint off your clothes. I use it on the sheet also to get any stray pieces off it.

It's funny, but I have 2 sets of sheets that look exactly the same, but the first set is much denser I guess with thread count because the hair doesn't stick to it as much as it does to the 2nd sheet, so depending on which set is on the bed also depends on how often they get washed. The 2nd set needs to be washed more often because I can't get the hair off it as well as the 1st set.

Yes, I love watching NCIS. I had seen your request....so, I thought it was easier to put it on here. Hope you let us see your journal...that would be a great project!

Yes, I'm still enjoying them!!!! I've paced myself with them....don't want to read them all at once!!!
